Another request for 9cc2 profile please?

Is it just me, or does this display make gamefaqs look purplish?

Edit: this display can definitely physically show blues as blues, I have two comparison images between this computer and another monitor. What is causing this purple I'm not sure. It seems like some rainbow-effect sub-pixel shading. Look at the pictures.

Why all the weird differences?

Had to return my original MBP13" due to a bad Superdrive.

The replacement laptop has a "9CC2" screen. Don't see this mentioned anywhere in the other postings. Does anyone know who makes this? The serial; number indicates that it was built in week 25. Seems dimmer than the 9C9F that it replaced, but the colors are deep and the resolution is excellent.

Also, ditto on the request for a calibration profile.

Thanks.

What does that mean? The resolution is the same on all 13" MBs/MBPs/MBAs.

Believe it. 9CBD is the winner.

all i did was change the gamme to 2.2 and i think my 9C9F looks amazing, have not seen a 9CBD or w/e but i cant imagine it being any better.

I've got the 9C9F and my brother got one with a 9CBD. No matter how we tweak the profiles and compare them, the 9CBD is clearly the winner (as most posts here seem to confirm). Deeper blacks, better contrast, higher max brightness, richer colors with the 9CBD. I'm within 14 days so I'm gonna swap mine and eat the restocking fee. 9CBD is the winner.

P.S. Even viewing angles look better/larger on the 9CBD.

I have the 9C9E - Samsung Panel. It's very very bad, blue/purple issue and white looks like yellow/grey. I will send back to Apple.

Please get serious. Your photos show a brightness issue, not a color/screen/panel issue. Turn your brightness up.

I have a 9CBD and I *never* have it at full brightness because it's just too damn bright.

My brother's 9CBD is at half brightness most of the time. All the way up burns my retinas!

I have to agree with your comments. I previously had a 9C9F display which I returned due to a none related screen issue and the replacement 9CBD screen is much brighter.

Mine is a 9CBD.

Can someone show me where/how to calibrate using some ones calibration settings?

how do you know your replacement will have the 9CBD? it would suck to pay restocking fee each time you enter the screen lottery.

I have the 9C9E as well. The blue does look a bit off (violet) but after switching it to 2.2 gamma I can't complain.

Do you have calibrated both screens?
I've tested both of them, and when calibrated, they look exactly the same (viewing angles, brightness, contrast...).

Anyway, with original profile (Apple LCD) the 9CBD looks better... but who care! :) :D

9CBD screen.
Awful. Blues are "fluorescent purple", greens impossibly "fluorescent yellow".
I've tried about 30 different profiles, made a standard calibration and another one using SuperCal. Still ugly. Unusable, it hurts my eyes. My photos all are fluorescent in the yellows/greens tones.

I had the 9C9E and I couldn't agree with you more. It was terrible. I returned it.

9cbd

I had to return my 9C9F due to a warped case and it was replaced by a 9CBD, and to be honest I can't really tell the difference.

Compared to my old 15" MBP, both screens seem inferior. Especially yellows / reds look neon and not as rich. Whites are overpowering on the new machine, and the white / black contrast is not as rich, but if this was my only machine and had no basis of comparison, I would be perfectly happy.

Well something very strange fixed my problem (horribly fluorescent yellows/greens, purple blues on 9CBD) : I plugged in a mini DVI adapter to see how it looked on an external screen, and suddenly all colors became perfect, and remained so after I unplugged the external screen.
Now the colors looked very nice with rich tones.

I have the 9CC2, everything looks OK apart from the purplish blues.

Can someone please post a profile for this screen?

Thanks

I agree with you totally. We have three new Macbook Pro 13". The 9CBD (mine) is amazing. We cannot get the 9C9F (my husbands) looking anywhere near the quality of the 9C8D and the screen is not very bright (I like a 'bright-white' screen). It also seems to have a warm tone to the whole screen. I was going to take it back, but my husband said he will keep it. My sister has the 9CA0 which she seems to be happy with.
