will apple be updating their site for this?
Of course not.......
Seriously, what kind of question was that? Of course they will update their site when they actually launch the tablet.
will apple be updating their site for this?
Well the problem is that I don't expect the tablet to run Logic or Aperture. I guess it will run a mobile version of iPhoto but you get the picture. So I don't see me switching tasks between a tablet and a MacBook Pro. I'm sure iPhone OS 4.0 will be great but it won't beat 10.6.
But then again the Tablet may introduce an internet you can actually touch, so it may change the way we use the internet. We'll see.
I agree. Until Android and/or some other OS fills in the gap of a platform that isn't locked into a single-source App Store, everyone gets screwed.
WOW. She likes to smell textbooks?!
true, i would not expect a tablet to run logic (or final cut or after effects) but maybe someday there will be applications created specifically for this kind of device that we will like more than our present mode of sitting in front of big monitors with a mouse and a keyboard. we've been doing that for too many years already (well, i have anyway)
example: in the video world i would welcome leaving after effects behind, and working with a new interface and midi controller, eg the modul8 software. not as powerful as AE yet, but maybe some day it will overtake after effects et al. more intuitive interaction with software than hours of tweaking keyframes -> most welcome. probably we'll have zo wait for more powerful tablets than this first offering, but it will come...
And even if he did, so what?
along with me please.
So whatis see going to do pull out of the deal that would force nearly every college student to get a tablet? wake up SJ has more to lose on this one.
That CEO could parade around naked with just an apple table covering his privates and SJ still wouldn't bite. Imagine an HP tablet suddenly appearing in the colleges and taking away that market share.
I bet they never let McGraw-Hill see any more then the E-Reader portion of the pad/slate/table. They made it easy and cost effective by allowing the publisher to make one version of the text book that could be positioned on both the iPhone and Tablet as they are both based on the same e-reader from iPhone OS. This does not mean the whole thing has been seen or touched by this guy. I too agree Apple could not have spent all this time just porting the iPhone to a bigger screen.
Why do people who read iphone OS automatically assume there isn't a major overhaul with 4.0?
Can we at least wait to see the damn device?
I'm hoping it will be more open than the current iPhone OS we all know. I wouldn't look twice at a "big iPhone". Not that I don't hate the iPhone OS, just I'd like this to be a fully dedicated computer that I can install whatever the hell I want onto it.
Cause Steve has a little secret and that bad man told everyone.. BOOOO HOOOO.
Maybe he and every other content provider ought to tell Jobs to stick that tablet up his ass sideways then Steve can present his little secret with all those "great" 2 meg Censored Apps from the App Store..
$1000 for a tablet and it Farts and can be used as a compass!!! Wooo Hoooo. And you Zombies here will line up for miles to get one...
That would be the *former* CEO of McGraw-Hill. After Stevie hears about this, I'm guessing that company won't be as much of a friend of Apple anymore.
And what about the MacBook Pros? Will they be anounced tomorrow?
(Btw can anybody tell me at what time the conference will be...)

Why does everyone hate the iPhone OS? I mean it is a little dated compared with Android, but still it is not horrible.
Yeah I some what agree but I like to hear new products and announcements from STEVE himself. . . It doesn't take away the joy I have for tomorrow but I do believe it was a very unprofessional move on McGraw.
You guys are hilarious. A "controlled leak", yeah right.
Terry McGraw is the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company, not to mention the fact that the company has his name on it, as it did his father and grandfather, etc. etc.
I can fully see Apple releasing control surfaces for Final Cut Pro and Logic Studio that use the tablet as an 'auxilliary' interface ( mixer screen in logic or playback monitors for FCP - maybe even timeline editor) whilst the processing and storage is still taken care of by the I/O and CPU muscle of your mac ( MBP, MPro etc).
