I'm pretty stoked about the new iMac. Even thinner with a remote control? That's pretty awesome. Now if only it had a TV tuner built in...

I really hope Front Row has a smooth, sleek, Tivo/MythTV style interface for managing media and that they make it available to all Macintosh computers...because then I'd just have to buy a mini, soup up the hard drive, and bam! Better than a MythTv box.

iMac + Front Row + eyeTV = da Bomb

now, if they'd only release a aluminum version...

Screw buying TV shows.

Why doesn't he show some of us video podcasters playing on one of those iPods!?!?

So what's the "One More Thing. . ."?

buying TV shows - from American channel ABC.. and I guess the BBC in the UK from Itunes.

hmm.. dont know about this new ipod. Still miss that FM funer and built in mic.

$1.99 per episode, 10 to 20 minute download for 1 hour show - broadband of course. Jobs, [paraphrase] "can't wait to see the speculation about MacWorld."

No doubt. Haven't been around MR for awhile, but it's good to see the foaming mouths of the masses again.

Still waiting on that Powerbook/Powermac upgrade to come around.

* sigh *

Hmmm, Apple come out more like a media player manufactor than a computer company right now...
Too bad about the PM & PB.

They slowed down the iMac!! Now 1.5 instead of 1.8 or is that a misprint. I assume that this means they have switched to teh low power chips but a slower processor is a bit of a kick in the teeth.

BOO! But Video iPod is cool. Especially since it's got video out and h.264 (not a surprise though). DRM sucks. Can you play your own videos from your own camera?

CPU speeds

Engadget are saying...

"The new iMac lineup prices are as follows: $1299 US for the 1.5GHZ 17-incher, $1799 US for the 2.1GHz 20-incher."

1.5 and 2.1? Huh?

in the future, u can buy tv shows off itunes!! :D:D

so lets see...my cable bill is about $60/month, for basic cable. So to make this worth it, I would need to watch less than 30 programs per month, and only ABC/Disney programming. What am I missing here? I see the potential, but without all major networks on board, cable is going to win out over Apple on this.

Why not just let Tivo work with iMac???

Hey, look guys, I'm a bit pissed at not seeing PB updtae, but I think Apple realise a lot of pro customers are gonna wait for the Intel version, so why waste time and effort on it.

It is a wise move, shares wise, to move into the video market, because eventually the TV networks will clamp down on Bittorrents like the RIAA did on Kazza, Napster etc. Make a few examples of people and you soon get the message.

It's a good move by Steve to move into this area now, even though he always claimed it wasn't worth it. It will help Apple to grow and fight off M$ attempts to muscle in on the home market, giving them enough money to continue to develop the Mac.
