I haven't checked yet but I'm betting that TV show downloads are US only or that you won't be able to buy Lost etc in the UK.

If Channel 4 in the UK have paid for the license to broadcast Lost and we're still early in season one over here then they're going to be pretty pissed off if every schmoe can just download the next 20 odd episodes.

The iMac remote doesn't "clip" onto the side of the iMac, it's held in place with magnets. From the "design" page: "and it stows away neatly (and magnetically) on the side of your iMac when not on." Cool! Now GIVE US NEW POWER MACS!

Don't you think it is possible that the sales of PB might drop to sub-zero if they keep this lineup until summer 2007? The difference between the iBook and PB hardly motivates a 50% premium. Moreover, the PB specs wasnt exacty "prosumer" six months ago. Just imagine 18 months from now....

Yeah... soon to be renamed (lack of)Power Book.

Dear God! Powerbooks must certainly be at the bottom of the barrel for updating - so much for buying one soon....

I definitely agree with you... What is apple thinking?????? I'm seriously considering staying with the PC platform b\c i can't wait much longer for a new powerbook that isn't coming..... Argh.... It seems like they're turning away from the professional computer market.... Argh.... Apple's going to lose a lot of potential new customers if they don't do some thing soon.... like me :(

You mean the Apple Remote.
I've got to admit that when I first saw the picture I thought it was a Shuffle on there. They certainly look very similar at a casual glance. A read over the pages on the Apple site soon put me right, though. ;)

I see too that the Mighty Mouse is included as standard with the new iMacs – does this mean that we're going to see it gradually rolled out over the whole desktop range?

They slowed down the iMac!! Now 1.5 instead of 1.8 or is that a misprint. I assume that this means they have switched to teh low power chips but a slower processor is a bit of a kick in the teeth.
Misprint: the Apple store has the $1299 one with 1.9GHz

downloading itunes 6 right now. hopefully no glitches. that new imac is pretty sexy to bad the powerbook did not get updated.

Apple took the dial up modem out of the iMac also. Now they sell a seperate component that goes through the USB port.

Guess it got a little tight in there when making it smaller.

Well i really want one of the new i macs but seeing as i just got one about a month and a half ago guess that is not oging to happen.

*light comes on in head*
O, gram needs a computer when i leave to go to main campus in about 16 weeks. *evil laugh* Guess what i will be getting in about 20 weeks. hehehe

 No new towers... I'm so bummed I had my credit card on the table ready to make the call. Grrrr  I NEED MORE POWER! :p sorry .. lost it for a second

If they offer West Wing, ER and Battlestar Galactica, along with Lost and Desperate Housewifes (for the wife of course), I would be paying a MAXIMUM of $40/month and I could dump cable altogether.

Since iMac moved to PCI-Express and DDR2, PowerMac HAS to follow it soon! There is NO WAY their consumer-machine could outspec their pro-machine! And since they were prepared to make changes of that magnitude, is there any reason why they couldn't do them to the PowerBook as well?

Correction on my earlier comment: Front Row is indeed the software. The hardware is the Apple Remote.

the new iMac:

iSight built-in standard
Radeon X600 Pro and X600 XT
Superdrive standard
Gigabit Ethernet
Mighty Mouse standard
Apple Remote standard
533MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Bluetooth 2.0+EDR

Not too shabby.

Toay's announcements were fun, and partly unexpected :) Love the new iPod and iMac.

We're still in suspense about Power Macs and PowerBooks. Don't worry, updates are still likely before long. This just wasn't the event for them.

I was hoping the remote would be sold for other Macs too, but it looks like IR, not BT. Odd.
