Honestly, if you like the gold iPhone, get the gold iPhone...

The same sort of deal happened when they began to release white iPhones. The color of a piece of technology has nothing to do with your masculinity. Stop fretting and get what makes you happiest.

this!
and it comes up constantly...i think your friends maybe insecure about their sexuality....are you using a pink hello kitty case and wearing a dress while using it?

So many insecure people on this forum.
We are not!
And I know it's true because I took a survey of 10 of my friends and they all agreed that I was not insecure. I hope you agree that I'm not insecure because I need positive re-enforcement from the entire population of the planet or I won't be able to make even the simplest decision in life.
Also please tell me if I should change anything in this post or delete it. But not because I'm insecure because I'm not, see the first part of this post about the survey for absolute irefutable proof.

It's not that I wouldn't get a Gold because of some stranger's insecurities in my sexual orientation, it's that I wouldn't get a Gold because it just looks bad.

I see nothing wrong with the Gold phone. It is a nice phone.

For me, I've just always liked the black/dark silver/grey colored phones.

Owned one white iPhone 4 and one white S4, they were cool, but just something about the black/grey phones. I love it.

With that said, who cares. It's your money, it's your phone. Do what you want.

Seriously? If you need to truly survey your friends about your "security", you are definitely insecure.

True. It's just a phone.

I think I preferred the hold 5s, but I wouldn't say it's not 'manly', the gold is a nice washed out gold. Always gotten black/space grey Apple products for myself though, I just don't like white phones. :D

Same as you, have always had black iphones. Ordered a gold this time and that combined with the brown leather case is very nice. No regrets at all, not feminine in the least.

I had a gold 5s and really liked it. I keep alternating colors. So when I was not able to get Space Grey and all I could get was gold, I went with gold. I am still on the lookout for space grey but that has nothing to do witth gold being percieved feminine. Next year I will l change the color again. Go with what you like.

I remember when they came out with the first white iphone, this is like deja vu all over again, but now in gold.

I purchased a white iphone 4 and my brother, his wife, and their son said it was girly, guess what they all have today!!!

A white iphone 5, a Gold iphone 5s (has white face), and a white samsung galaxy s3!!! I think they all went girly!!!

Due to your insight I will be including you in all future surveys. J/K, my post was in jest. I cannot comprehend the notion that there are those that seek the approval of strangers on a forum for their decisions.

Didn't Jony Ive use a Gold 5S? I really don't think these phones were designed with gender in mind.

Get whatever colour you like.

I prefer the 5S gold colour to the new gold, though that is just personal preference. I own a 5S gold.

To be honest, I have had it in a Apple leather case, so noone actually notices its gold anyway.

Real man uses gold iPhone and own it. I had a gold iPhone 5s and while they made fun of me at first... I owned it and rocked it and they themselves admitted they were wrong and said it is nice. I would've gotten gold again but I've always had white face for now so it's time for a change. I got space gray but my second pick was gold.

I have the Gold iPhone 5S. And my Gold iPhone 6 arrived yesterday.

I like the Shade of Gold on the 5S much more for some reason, the 6 just doesnt look right to me like the 5S did.

Going to apple store later today to exchange my gold for a Black 6.

Bought gold love gold could care less what people say. What's funny is when you live that way people actually start acting like you.

I'm a boy, and I like the gold. The only thing stopping me getting one is white front. If the silver and gold has black fronts, my choice would've been a lot tougher.

I have the gold, it does almost look almost like a rose gold but in no way is it girly.

Right now it is in a clear case and it will be in an apple leather case in midnight blue once that arrives.

Got the same combo. (Also waiting for the case) Saw some pics on other threads and it looks great!

On a side note - took my new phone to work today and I had at least 10 people exclaim, "it's too big!" I never tire of that.

I don't think the gold looks feminine, just gaudy. It looks tacky to me, and that applies to gold anything really (*except gold bullion and female jewellery).

I am thinking very seriously about getting a gold iPhone 6 Plus.

I've only ever had black iPhones before. I think it looks especially handsome in the brown leather case from Apple, as seen in this review: http://techcrunch.com/2014/09/16/iphone-6-cases-review/

Some of my friends have said that a man "can't own" the gold iPhone, or that it's for ladies, which I think is ridiculous.

Just looking for any other men who are proud gold iPhone owners and if you've gotten similar guff from your friends.

Not looking for this to devolve into a screaming match about masculinity and gender norms...it's just iPhones, people.

Also interested to hear whether you use it in a case, without a case, and if so, what cases can compliment the gold color. Pictures encouraged. Thanks! :apple:

Are men physically banned from owning the gold iPhone? Or is it all in your head? Real men don't care what other men think.
