I have just ordered a 38 to try as my 42 is 6 weeks away.
I have 170mm wrists with 55mm width.
I will post pics once it arrives but I agree that I want it to look more like a watch on my wrist rather than a smart watch.
What swayed my to the 42 is the leather loop band, if they supplied that with the 38, it would make my decision far easier.

This thread needs to be sent to late night television. :D I think Fallon could do a short on this. I can't stop laughing at guy's taking pictures of their watch.

Did you know there are watch collectors who are far more obsessed than we are? There are even men's fashion forums guys people take pictures of their clothes! Hilarious! Fallon could have a field day! #

Men with the 38

38 is a great option.
Variation in wrist size can be quite significant and having only a giant 45mm watch, like moto360 or the LG urbane, doesn't make much sense.

I suppose some may feel that 42 is too small, but it should feel at least average size for most people, since 42mm diameter for circular dial watches is a slightly conservative average for most fine sporty watches.

Hi everyone,

Can you tell me your opinion about the look on my wirst ?

I'm totally lost .. :(

The 38mm looks nice! The black 42mm not so much, but maybe if you go for a brighter colored band. In the end you have to wear it. The green 38mm is the one I am awaiting. And my wrist is 155mm circumference and 55mm width.

What is your wrist size?
I think it depends on what you like more. If you want a watch with more WOW effect the 42mm is right for you.
For 50$ more you get much more apple watch.
I think you can wear both.
On my 150mm wrist the 38mm maybe would be better in size but i like the look of the 42mm more.
38mm is more like a normal subtile watch while the 42mm is more like a modern big diver watch. At least the 42mm is not that big as it shows on the pictures.
The 42mm looks smaller than my pebble steel but the 42 is bigger.

Here's the watchface. Obviously my usage is higher, including using the workout app, but nothing crazy beyond what Apple expects from a day with the Watch. 18% remaining after 14 hours off the charger means I won't make it to 18 hours.

Doesn't that mean 20 hours off the charger? Adding the time the watch was being used to the time it was just on standby? Because my numbers are the same as yours and my watch has been off the charger for about 20 hours.

The "usage" is part of the standby time. Kind of weird how they do that.

My watch has been of the charger today from 7am to 11am. It reads 4 hours standby, 41 minutes usage.

No, the Standby time is the time it's been off the charger. It's stupid and confusing but that's the way it is. When my watch is off the charger for 14 hours, Standby time reads 14 hours. I've been really good at consistently taking my watch off the charger at 8:30am every morning so that I can best gauge my battery levels.

Originally didn't want the 38, but after a week or so with the 42, I realized my little 152mm men wrist are probably better fit for the 38. Today some my coworkers noticed my Apple Watch and were like, "Wow, that thing looks huge on your wrist!" I think the fact that I'm skinny plus short didn't make it any better.

No regrets. I'm going from 42SG to 38SS. If I change my mind down the road, I'll just sell it and pick up a 42SS in stores later on this year.

I have worn a pebble steel before and I didnt like watches before the pebble and I hated big watches.
I would say people who like the 38mm have not worn watches before the apple watch for a long time.

Here an other photo. On this the 42mm look enormus on me. But it doesnt as you can see on my other pictures.
Next to it a Samsung Galaxy Gear. Just for showing how small the 42mm is compared to other smartwatches.

In all you photos the 42 looked to big for, but this photo made it worse.

You in the 42 actually looks worse then the lady with 38 on LARGE wrists in the "My Big Apology" thread.

I'm in the magical "b" category and after trying both on, I felt the 38 was more comfortable and looked better. Even though the Apple rep said "you will want the 42, the 38 is for girls" I still ordered the 38 because of comfort and looks. If the 42 is comfortable on you great. But just realize it looks bad.
