I bought an iFrogz Luxe case. While for the most part I really like it, I hate the raised circle on the back. I'll wait and see what is offered and make my decision then.

+1 LOVE the case, but that damn circle! all i hear is kirplunk kirplunk every time i try to use it while its sitting on my desk at work :( hope they offer some nice cases, the bumper is not for me. i need something on the back!

He said that they didn't have enough bumpers for everyone so I wonder what the free case will look like?

actually he said hes working with companies and you will have a choice between caseS so its not like they are giving out cheap cases cause they are including the bumper in the offer

its obvious man...they threw it together as a quick fix for this...Apple's never released an iphone case and now releases possibly the crappiest one you can get

Thread starter gonna hate me for this:

I dont want a bumper so I'm thinking about going buy one now and then get my refund for it and then just buy a much better case at probably the same price or just a few dollars more.

I think I read that we can't get the free bumpers until the end of next week so my refund should still be good if I do buy one today. I just gotta find one now.

I don't get this? You hand Apple $29. You go back, they give it back to you. Then you take that original $29 and buy another case. Why are you taking extra steps and adding additional hassle when you can just buy the one you want in the first place? Makes no sense.

Thank God Steve stood up for what's right. And along those lines, I am perfectly happy with my iPhone 4 and the Bumper I bought on Day 1 and don't want Apple's money at all. I wasn't raised to take money I don't deserve. In fact, I'd like them to charge me an additional $29.00 to offset someone else's free case if that's what it takes as a gesture to show Apple how happy we are with what they do for us.

Look what we're doing to Apple. We can't let this happen.

Oh for the love of God!

be warned that the skin may interfere with the flash, the bodyguardz did with mine.

I can definitely confirm on my end that the SGP EX film has a cutout for the flash, and I have had no problems with the protector, in fact I highly recommend it.

Will the apple store give me a free bumper tomorrow?

Will the apple store give me a free bumper tomorrow? I just wondered if anyone knew as I am going to be near an apple store tomorrow. Thanks.

Refreshing response on these forums.

Some of the responses to the OP, not so much.

Yea just re-read it. Forgot the part about me having bought a bumper when I got my phone.

Thanks James. I am glad you are so noble. I on the other hand will gladly take a case and still be unhappy that they are not actually fixing the issue. I am happy they are doing something about it though.

I voted "no" because I generally don't like workarounds. They should offer a solution instead.

There is no solution since there's nothing actually wrong with the iPhone 4 reception by general standards, it seems.

I'm happy with the iPhone 4 period. They will stop offering the case after Sept. 30 because there's nothing wrong with the phone to start with. As Apple pointed out, dropped reception when gripping the phone a certain way is not unique to the iPhone. I remember being on Verizon a few years back with a generic phone and I could swear that putting the phone on the desk on speakerphone without gripping it helped my reception, and now I know I wasn't just being superstitious.

There's an awful lot of pissing and moaning worldwide about this phone even though 3 million units were sold thus far. The OP has a good point, why take advantage of a company that's given you every innovation that you've asked for? I'm no expert, but I liked Apple's presentation. To be honest I admire them doing it in the first place, they don't owe us anything. You got what you paid for and they'll give refunds. Best of both worlds in my view. I'll be purchasing new iPhones this weekend and I will lobby for this phone because it's the same quality product that apple has been putting out for years. I believe that 0.55% Steve was talking about lurks on these forums.

********. It's a complete piece of ill-fitting, wiggling crap. Oh, and I can't use the dock-connector cable in my car as it's not the exact same profile as the new-ish Apple cable. I sent mine back two weeks ago.

It's not ill-fitting or wiggling. About 6 of my friends got bumpers and I've yet to see one that has the slightest problem with the cutouts. 3 of the same friends have cars and they all work fine. Just buy a cheap extension cable on eBay or something. When the guy said it was perfectly cut, he compared it to the iPhone, not your car.

I think what they meant to say was "we aren't giving you any bumpers unless you already bought one, but here are some alternative cases that cost significantly less to produce."
