That is one nice looking screen.![]()
This is the only reason I would buy the EVO, but of course, the user interface is way more important, and iPhone is the way ahead in this aspect.

I couldnt care less what some youtube video says. I own both devices and the vast majority of time my nexus one is faster at opening webpages.
The only things that iphone has a clear advantage over a nexus one level device is the app store and teh OS is slightly more polished - eg: animations and pages scroll smoother, more accurate touchscreen. take away those 2 things and android 2.2 kills iphone OS in terms of features and functionality.
I couldn't disagree more.
I had an iPhone 3g and went to the HTC incredible. To me the speed change was astonishing.
Android is a much less controlled platform. Badly written applications can slow down the system. Perhaps an errant program was running in that phone.
In normal use, the incredible feels many times faster than my iPhone 3g and much faster than the iPhone 3gses I've used.
Android may have disadvantages and differences from iPhone, but slow is not the word to describe the incredible.
The EVO should be as fast since it has the same processor, although I have read a review that said it was slower than the Incredible.
That's strange, I also have a nexus 1 and my iPhone has many "clear advantages" like a usable keyboard, touchscreen accuracy, and a far (not even close) better email client for exchange.
can you elaborate more on what features and usability android has compared to iPhone os?cmon dude, i know u love ur iphone but lets b honest. other than the app store and a more polished interface, android kills iphone in features and useability. u dont like androids stock keyboard? change it out for something u like better, like swype. same thing goes for the exchange client. does apple let u change the stock apps? nope.
That totally explains all the other pro EVO posts and why they haven't been deleted.
You called people ****ing liars and did nothing to prove them wrong.
can you elaborate more on what features and usability android has compared to iPhone os?

Just so everyone knows the truth about the battey life on the Evo, it is nowhere near as good as the iPhone. If that's not important to you and you like the Android os then go for it. Yes, if you are careful about running a task killer and keeping 4g and all these other radios off and don't use anything data intensive too much then you can get decent life, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a smartphone IMO. My roommate has one so don't say that i don't have personal experience with one. Yes, I love the screen and there's a lot you can do with Android but it's not worth it for me. If I'm on vacation and need to look up reviews and use google maps to find out how to get places, I don't want to have to worry about my battery dying. Yes you could bring a spare battery around with you, but why would you want to do that? The phone is big enough as it is anyways. I used to have a WinMo phone and that was the main issue I had with it. Android is the same case for me. I truly get 4+ hours of data intensive usage on my iPhone and nearly endless standby time on my iPhone, which I'm not willing to give up.
On top of that, 4g barely works anyways and it should not be considered a big selling point of this phone. It doesn't work inside any building.
sure.
fully integrated google voice. best thing about it is u no longer need to pay for txt msgs.
powerful search w/voice that searches ur contacts apps and web and also gives u results in maps with turn by turn nav
ability to replace stock apps (dialer, msging, keyboard) with 3rd party apps if u want.
I couldn't care less what you say. I own both devices and I like iPhone OS far more than Android. Get the point? It's subjective. Stop pretending Android is just better.
you can easily jailbreak an iPhone and you will have custom stock apps. as for the other two I dont see how just those 2 features "kill" iPhone os...

When you first get any smart phone OF COURSE the battery is going to suck, because you are constantly playing with it. Give it a few days to a week then say how it is.
I got an evo yesterday and can say I love it! I had an iPhone (traded it in for the evo) and to me personally it is better then my iPhone. The fact that i can customize to my liking is a huge plus. Also the camera? It's pretty great.
ETA: I don't care about the no data on the phone. I never used it on my iPhone. In fact the phone stayed on my ear while I was on the phone every single time I made a phone call.
sure if u wanna go thru the hassle of jb... but with android that functionality exists right out of the box. isn't that supposed to b the apple mantra? "it just works" lol
