For people thinking the battery is too weak...

More battery life is always an option. Good price too. I figure it can't hurt to have a spare battery anyway, might as well get a larger one. This one even fits under the stock battery cover so it stays the same thickness.

I'm returning mine too. To be honest the only reason i really got it was because i sold my iphone and i needed a phone to use since i didn't have a backup.
I had entertained the idea of just keeping it but Android os is still not polished enough for me. And whenever i set the Evo down on a table or something an app opens up buy itself or the camera opens. IMO that's unacceptable for an OS to perform like that. Android has been out for what? 2 - 3 years and it's still buggy like someones SW project for computer class.

That's probably WebOS. A crying shame it was stuck on crap hardware, at least for now.

Itune intergration is a wash... I can sync with Itunes OR doubletwist with android.
App quality- Umm if you mean looks, yes most apps look better.. the iOS limitations effect the functions of apps tho... android doesnt have that problem..
App quantity- apple wins by far, but what does that mean really?

EVO can do video chat over the cell network, iPhone 4 can't. I can video chat from my EVO to my wifes Mac- iPhone 4 can't. Only wifi iphone 4 to iphone 4. Jobs calls it iPhone "4"rather than iPhone HD to confuse the average Joe into thinking it's 4G- which it is not! I don't want damn ads all over my apps and phone! Open garden, not walled like Apple, shall I go on- No I'll play with my EVO that I left AT&T Jobs for last Friday...
I still use a Mac, but goodbye to the dumb masses on AT&T with iPhones.

Skype and other folks will write apps that allow phone to desktop video (iOS 4 allows full access to the camera)
Dude, are you seriously still crying about this? There are a TON of keyboards you can download from the market, go do it! If you are returning an awesome phone cause you cant type the freaking pipeline character...I am sorry but that is probably the most ridiculous thing I have heard here.
I use that character for everything, I'm not going to start changing it because a phone doesn't have this basic character. It's ridiculous that HTC can't implement a proper keyboard. I also have tried swype and better keyboard, didn't like any of them. Now since Vivid has pointed out the modified HTC keyboard, I will be trying that.
With that said, the missing character is not the only thing making me lean towards returning it. The unpolished feel of the OS is one factor and a worser reception for Sprint is another.
So far, I've been trying different launchers, themes, etc to get the OS to feel more polished and it's been working. I feel very confident once Froyo is released, this phone will be awesome, but like I said... I'm impatient.
It means I can find an app to do almost anything I want. Cant same the same thing for my Android devices.
I keep forgetting middle / high school is out for the summer until I visit Macrumors.

What other smartphones out there (or to be released in the near future) do you find worthy of matching or beating out the iPhone? Also, list the features that each are exclusive to, or perhaps one has an advantage with. My hope is that this thread can be used to help people compare the iPhone 4 with other competitors in order to help them with their purchase.
For example, stating stuff like:
iPhone 4: Retina Display, 5MP camera, iOS 4
HTC Evo 4G: 4G network (downside: very limited 4G coverage right now), 8MP camera, Android OS
Both: video calling, multitasking

call me an idiot but if we can record hd video and view it on the iphone 4 I'm assuming we can now transfer our hd itunes video purchases to it as well?
I have a question. I read some reviews on the Evo and the first thing I heard was the camera wasn't that great. And another thing, does the Evo sync to iTunes? The people here are saying that Apple is fallen behind is ridiculous. Yes they come out with their product ONCE a year at the same time and yes the competition does take their ideas and try to make them better. Let's be honest, in a few months, the new iphone specs will be "blown away" with some other company. But this phone is more than just specs. I love apple. Every product they create it's like they're thinking of how the consumer would use it. They make everything so simple. That's why the iPhone OS is so amazing because of how simple it is. I love the iPhone and I will never turn away from it, even if it doesn't have a kickstand.
Actually its more true with android, because I dont have the OS limitations Iphone has. I dont care what a dev can do with an app, if apple does approve it or if apple does include the functionality in the OS.. then it means nothing....
I can find anything I want to do in the app store... even managing torrents, downloading music, stream my itune/doubletwist... downloading attachments and viewing them by going into my file browser(Which I dl'd)
So you prefer a black background with buttons that open programs that you have to back out of to get back to the same boring screen to open up another? The iPhone is for you then. Please take the Evo back so others can enjoy the highly customizable Android experience

LMAOOOO!!!! I know AT&T has it's shortcomings but that is downright laughable.
AT&T was voted the 4th (yup, thats dead last) best carrier in the US just a few months back. They are the absolute worst. Dropped calls like crazy, horrible voice that leads many of its users to text instead, awful customer service and now they dont even have an unlimited data plan. Thats whats laughable.
Ive been out of high school, middle school, any school for over 20 years! I always change my writing style to suit the audience. Sorry i wasnt articulate enough for you.... i didnt know there was a minimal requirement in these forums.
