In the entire presentation Steve did not mention about faster processor or extra RAM (Remember 3GS is 2x faster than 3G). It seems iPhone 4 will be about as fast as 3GS. The only thing I like about is the iMovie video editing.

And Why in god's name would Steve bring up specs? Like RAM value. It just doesn't make any sense, he wants to me these keynote watchable from all demographics (remember, all keynotes get posted on the apple website).

That said,

There is nothing here that I didn't know of. The biggest surprise for me was farmville for iphone. Which will satisfy all those people that can't stop playing it. But I have to see this phone in person. I'm loving that he is pushing the battery life, that is really good news.

Because my EVO Sucks BALLS when it comes to battery life. I have to basically turn off everything it last. Yeah, thats great google, making me TURN OFF MY GOOGLE SERVICES so i can use your operating system. Just defeats the point, just like turning off 4G.

All I can say is, i have never been frustrated with the Iphone. I have been frustrated with the Android OS wayy too much. (there were some awesome times with it though). The keyboard just plain sucks and auto-correction is no where as good. It's a shame. If I was HTC, this phone wouldn't even have left the factory until i was satisfied.

I have had the EVo since May 21st... So I have been trying it for 2 weeks... But that aside, I would NEVER by a cellphone solely based on Video Camera or Photo Camera.
 
The problem with Steve praising the resolution on the iPhone as "The only right thing" is that he's then ditching the iPad completely, basically saying that the resolution on the iPad is close to ridiculous...

Yep - far lower pixel density on iPad.
And if iMovie is so great on the iPhone (which it really does seem to be from the demo video), then surely it could have been even better on the iPad, with more screen to work with.
And surely the iPad would have been better with a camera-or two.
And so it goes on.

I imagine all of these will be included in the next revision of the iPad which I predict will be out later this holiday season.
 
Apple has been left behind.....

If the Evo were on Verizon I'd be sold , looks like the Incredible for me. Same as the Evo just a smaller screen with the number 1 network. Back to Verizon I go......screw you , AT&T.
 
Apple did a good job playing catch up, I think both are great phones with the same feature set. It really all comes down to how tied into Apple's ecosystem you are, and carrier preference.

Personally I don't use iTunes or really like AT&T, and have no regrets about purchasing my Evo.

To anyone planning on buying a iPhone 4: Enjoy it, it looks like a fantastic piece of kit.

I have both phones in front of me and I never took the time to compare it until now but yeah...i think the 3GS video is still better.

It was the best last year and still is the best this year. The EVO video is too fuzzy.

do you realize Sprint is also Nextel? And a ton of big companys use Nextel's PushToTalk for all of their employees?

And they're also Virgin Mobile.

And they're also what use to be Helio.

And on top of that, you listed T-Mobile, which is the in 4th place when it comes to Networks.

(i believe it goes Verizon, ATT, Sprint, T-Mobile)

And Sprint also had less % of customer complaints and dropped calls in the latest testings and surverys compared to ATT.

That's like saying that Palm wasn't a true phone company, even though they had their own OS and such. And Palm was exclusive to Sprint for a very long time.

Not only has Sprint been around for a long time, and IS a national carrier, and real carrier. But all of the problems they've had in the past are now being fixed, due to a new president/CEO: John Hesse.

Just because Sprint has a bad rep from the past, doesn't mean it's bad. And definitely doesn't mean it's not a true carrier.
 
EVO can do video chat over the cell network, iPhone 4 can't. I can video chat from my EVO to my wifes Mac- iPhone 4 can't. Only wifi iphone 4 to iphone 4. Jobs calls it iPhone "4"rather than iPhone HD to confuse the average Joe into thinking it's 4G- which it is not! I don't want damn ads all over my apps and phone! Open garden, not walled like Apple, shall I go on- No I'll play with my EVO that I left AT&T Jobs for last Friday...:D

I still use a Mac, but goodbye to the dumb masses on AT&T with iPhones.

Not really. The Evo has alot more over the Incredible than screen size...

720 HD video
front facing camera
HDMI out
4G
mobile hotspot for 8 devices...

Not to mention you can already root it and there is a beta Froyo ROM. However it is a much better choice than the iPhone :)
 
I dont get how some people just arent into apple - they look soley at the specs without appreciating the LOOKs.... iphone is this and evo is this - who gives a monkeys what others are doing - check the QUALITY!!!!

The look of the device AND MORE IMPORTANTLY THE iOS blows anything out of the water..... and if you dont agree, it doesnt matter - it just means you are a windoz lover... and if you are microsoft dumbo then enough said.

I also have both devices - EVO video and pics are far superior IMO to the 3GS (as they should be given the specs). Now the iPhone 4 may be a different story - we'll have to wait and see.

NO, im sticking to general statements!!!! :D

If you cant appreciate the beauty in what apple produce then there is nothing more to discuss - its a pointless discussion.

The functionality is secondary - to some extent - as its pretty clear everyone covers the basics of what a human needs. If you need 20mg pixel camera or 4g or whatever isnt right with the iPhone 4 then you are nuts - you are living a stupid superficial life! You need a reality check. Your doing stuff that doesnt need to be done!

I absolutely hate windows and microsoft and all other OS's. Nothing compares in my opinion to what Apple produce - and im not just saying this. Nothing compares..... and i used windows for years until i saw the light! and used different phones until i saw the other light!
