Wife. Kindergarten teacher. She'll be very pleased when I tell her!

Our daughter is only seven.
Aye, it could be so much more, especially if it's really intended to be a computer for non-computer folk.
Sending my 85 year old mother an iPad, and explaining to her remotely how to use it, has been a real eye opener. (It's her first computer ever.)
All of us here take a lot for granted since we know how the iOS UI works. Still, I knew in advance that some UI behaviors would puzzle her. I just didn't count on how much of it would
For instance, just think about what happens if you hold a finger on an icon a second too long. Yeah. When she told me the iPad was "vibrating" and not launching apps, I was thinking she meant actually vibrating like an iPhone at first. It took me a full minute to realize she meant the icons were wiggling.
I've always hated secret UI actions like that. At the least, continue to pop up a description + help message each time
until the owner turns that help off deliberately.
