Thanks for the idiot post.

The 3GS is on even keel with the Incredible in the review until the last round, Round 5.

What the hell is your point? It's a year old. Get over yourself.

Its okay fanboy... But please don't take your anger out on the OP. You and I know the truth. You are just a bit upset that Apple hasn't been stepping up to the game.

If the Google Nexus One beat the iPhone 3GS via CNET, then I will never read CNET again. I bought a Nexus One because of the specifications, but in reality it runs pretty much a beta operating system. Android is no where near completion, and honestly shouldn't be released right now. I would try to stream some movies and after my third one, the video player would crash. So I would wait for it to relaunch, which took about 2-3 minutes. Upon relaunch I tried to view another video, and I got an error. I had to reboot my phone.

Almost all of the Android applications crashed frequently, and I did multiple restores of my device, just to make sure something wasn't wrong.

I sent it back after six days and went back to my iPhone 3GS.

The Nexus One and Android has nothing going for it right now.

My Nexus One isn't nearly as smooth as my old 3GS. Not even close. Add to that the fact that the apps in general aren't nearly as developed than the ones on the app store, those are two pretty big differences. Will the apps become just as developed? I doubt it; even though Android is grabbing large marketshare and using a lot of data, they just aren't selling that many apps. The money isn't there yet.

The iPhone app store will always be #1 in terms of quality apps. The reason Android and other markets will have apps that do not compare to or are under par with the iPhone app store is due to the fact that developers just port.

What developer really wants to develop each app from scratch for each mobile OS? Not many. Lol. Not unless they are some die hard fan (which there are a few I'm Sure).

Sore losers

how is it sore losing? it just doesnt make comon sense the Incrapable ;) just came out while the iphone 3GS has been out for a while now they should have atleast compared this to the nexus one Call me when they compare this to the 4th gen iPhone.

Are you trying to get yourself banned? You've been going around this thread calling anyone who argues with you a "retarded fanboy".

Cnet hates Apple, always has. Read any article and it usually has an anti-Apple slant.

AppleMatt

and its always for something stupid to

every ipod review gets a bad score cause it doesnt have a fm radio who gives a F really thats why i want a ipod for my music and listen to it any time.

Macs they always b-tch about blu ray really if you want blu ray that bad get a player already you can get a great player now for 100 bucks

I think they even downscored the Air port Extreme for only having 50 max users seriously if you need more get something more professional.

Nope. Its just some of these fanboys are absolutely PATHETIC. One of those dumb idiots try to defend the 256MB ram in the iPad, saying it is amazingly fast, and it doesn't need more. Well, Steve Jobs said web browsing on iPad is way better than a LAPTOP. Sure enough I can have 16 tabs open on an iPad (at least the demo unit) but when you switch between tabs, the damn page must reload because... the lack of enough RAM. Then they get all defensive and say "well it doesn't take long to reload the page" Well my internet isn't the fastest, and to load MacRumors forum, it takes 25 seconds of my life just to lead it to become readable. this issue will be resolved according to a fanboy. sadly it exist in the iPhone... and has ever since its debut in 2007. So I think its unlikely it will be fixed.

They also say that for $1199 MacBook Pro having a wimpy 2.4GHZ Core 2 duo is enough. BS. For that price I want an i5 in my laptop. Or a 2.8GHz core 2 duo. The fanboys also say that i'm too picky with my iPhone. My glass isn't sitting flush with the bezel. I PAID $599 for a ****** iPhone, and the manufacture who HYPES their **** cannot even BUILD it CORRECTLY. It these fanboys who defend Apple's STUPID decisions that are retarded.

Oh, and Gizmodo. They didn't do the right thing by purchasing misplaced property, but it was Apple's fault because THEY trusted a DRUNK 27 year old with a prototype iPhone. But those fanboys says its all gizmodo's fault and it was a tiny mistake made by Apple. Losing a prototype iPhone costing a company money isn't a tiny mistake.

I love my 3Gs and there is a good chance I will upgrade to the new model this June because I can probably sell my 3Gs 32gb on ebay for what I paid for it last summer. I just wish you fanboys wouldn't get so bent out of joint when a competitor comes out with a new model phone thats bumping the iphone in the ass. Listen, competition is good for the market. It brings down cost and increases optional benefits for the buying public. You should be patting the competition on the back for a job well done because it will make Steve Jobs and company bring you a much better product at lower cost in a more timely manner.

First of all, what are you doing with 16 tabs open? I don't even have that much open on my desktop computer. I did have the problem of the tabs reloading in Safari when I had my iPhone 3G. But when I had my iPhone 3GS, that stopped. When you control the hardware and software you can usually get away with having lower specs. Ask anyone who has played with the Droid Incredible and then played with the iPhone 3GS. Even with the extra specs on the Droid, I'm willing to bet the 3Gs feels just as fast.

Well with the new Intel Core I5 series, Apple has to use Intel integrated graphics. Instead of using the NVidia integrated graphics chip. Like Ars Technia wrote, the 13" MBP didn't have enough space for dedicated graphics. And that Apple probably wasn't willing to cut out the battery to make more room for the dedicated graphics chip. Hey, they might be switching to AMD soon, so that might not matter.

Just because you had a bad experience does not mean it's the overall quality of the device. Some people are unlucky and just get bad products. No one is defending Apple for your 600 dollar iPhone not being perfect.

Regarding the arrendake chips, Apple brags about how "innovative" they are. They worked with intel to make the Core 2 Duo work in the MBA. That was a custom chip. Apple could have done it wil arrendale too. They chose not to. It seems they are more focused on mobile products running iPhone OS. Not products with Mac OS.

The Macbook Air was using Intel Core 2 Duo chips. Custom yes, but still Core 2 Duos.

Arrandale includes two dies on the processor package: one with the two 32-nm processor cores and another, 45-nm die featuring an integrated graphics processor and a memory controller. Intel has vowed to keep improving its integrated graphics hardware, but its latest IGPs don't compare favorably to the competition. Arradale's IGP may simply not be up to Apple's standards.

How do you know and what factual evidence do you have to back up that claim? By past practice, Apple's crippling of the iPhone and anti-open source policy would lead anyone to believe that it will fall short in many areas.

Apple is not anti-open source. Many parts powering OS X are actually open source projects. Lookup LLVM and Webkit.

The Nexus One and this incredible are both garbage phones. They might both have better hardware specs, but the overall experience you get when using both is utter utter crap. Inconsistent, badly-thought-out UI and UX. Heck, the nexus one DROPES FRAMES WHEN SCROLLING. The original iPhone released in 2007 preforms better than that. Go figure.

Being "1 year-old" is no excuse for the 3GS losing. The fact is, the 3GS is the best Apple has to offer at this point and the Incredible is the best Android phone available. Right now, it is impossible to go to Apple and buy any other phone better than the 3GS. The same with HTC.

At the current rate cellphones are being introduced and how fast their new technologies are being developed, coming out with just one phone per year is going to hurt Apple eventually and this contest clearly shows that. Imagine if HTC just came out with one phone per year?

You could also make the argument that Apple only releasing a new phone every year is helping them. I know that technology is always changing and if you wait you'll always be waiting. But at least with the iPhone if you buy it in June, you'll get a year out of the item without feeling like you got gypped. Customers are going to be wary of buying an Android device if they feel that a much better version is right around the corner.

I always say that those other phones are just phones and that the iPhone is a whole other thing, some call me naive when i say that but no other phone does what i need from the iPhone, and yes the 3GS is looking pretty bad now, before the announcement of OS 4.0 the iPhone felt ok, now that i know that multitasking comes i really feel i need it and also other features, We could say that the Incredible is a Generation 2010 phone and the 3GS a 2009 one, I'm sure the 2010 iPhone will beat the Incredible and the Nexus from day one

I just think it goes to show how far ahead of the game Apple truly is if competitors coming out now are besting the 10 month-old 3GS. That says something right there. Sure, other phones have beaten the 3GS in specs alone but not in execution. Now the challenge for Apple will be to extend that gap even further with the next-gen iPhone.

I actually got to play with the Incredible at the Verizon store today and I wasn't too impressed. The feel of the phone was nowhere near the polished feel of the iPhone. The speed of the OS was definitely on par with the 3gs and the camera seemed very high quality and took pictures very quickly. You can feel the speed of the snapdragon processor when loading web pages, even though everything seemed to go straight to the mobile versions, and switching between apps. The screen and the virtual keyboard have a totally different feeling than the apple phone, so I'm not sure if it's better or worse but it would take getting used to.

I was really excited to actually touch this phone but walked away liking the droid and the pre. The verizon pre seemed very quick and the screen was much closer to the feel of the iPhone. The incredible reminded me of my old LG Dare on steroids and that's not necessarily a good thing. I am not a fanboy at all but I think that the next iPhone is going to leap ahead of the competition once again by having a smartphone that has a perfect balance of usability and power.

I know the MacBook Air uses Intel Core 2 Duo. My point is Apple and Intel had worked together to make that SPECIFIC core 2 duo JUSt for Apple's MacBook Air. Why didn't the world's most innovative company work with Intel on designing a custom i5 and i7 for these so called "Pro" machines?

C'mon. What do you want here? We get it. You don't like the MBP updates, you don't like the iPhone compared to droids, blah blah blah. I'm all for reasoned discussion and open-mindedness (after all, I did buy an N1 and got rid of my iPhone), but this is getting ridiculous. You're not adding anything to the discussion, you're just arguing.

Not to state the obvious but that is comparing a year old phone (3GS) to a brand new one (Incredible). It is not surprising that the Incredible has "better" (which is highly subjective anyway) specs than the 3GS.

They did the comparison because the iPhone has beaten all comers as their favorite touchscreen phone for well over a year now, and as such it's the defending champion.

That said, good for HTC. We'll see if things change in a couple of months.

A few points:
1. This is the most important point: Opinion is not fact, and as such, everyone is entitled their own opinion. A fanboy is not anyone who disagrees with you. Look it up, it's true.
2. Use less tabs if your internet is so bad. Try Opera with pictures turned off, it helps.
3. Go to Apple about your phones build quality, either they are being unreasonable or you are. Every product have poorly made units, its inevitable, this does not mean Apple should not be allowed to advertise its products.
4. Don't bring up the Gizmodo thing, its been discussed to death.
5. Go to an anger management class. You are getting very worked up over things people shouldn't be so worked up over. You come off as being a troll (note: I am not saying you are one, I am saying you sound like one).
