I'm on an iPhone 3G, which is pretty much on par with the 2G. And there are plenty of individuals who still have 2G's and 3G's.

So there goes that argument.

And the problem is while you think nobody cares, the difference is that people care somewhat but prefer the entire package to offer what they want. Not just processor speed, screen size, etc. Sum > parts. Just over your head and I won't waste both our time anymore.

I sincerely hope the iPhone is slightly behind spec-wise so you can finally move on to greener pastures and quit complaining in this and other forums.

...

I still have a 3G and didn't go jump for a 3Gs. I never owned a 2G. I'm not saying EVERYONE went out and upgraded from 3G to 3Gs. Some did though. I would never say everyone considering I didn't even and apparently I'm a "stat whore".

I'm not sure what you think I think people don't care about. I know people care about the whole package and I know people care about stats. All in proportion. Whole package is obviously more important because it has the greatest effect on productivity. I don't see why you think I'm disagreeing with you.

The ONLY thing I didn't believe was that you said NOBODY cared about stats here, which is false. As well as your statements about Sense UI being bad because it was an alteration to the stock UI.

I don't care at all what you think of me. If I like the total package of the next iPhone, I'll get that. If I don't, I'll get the EVO. I'm still an iPhone user. I'll still keep my iPhone 3G to play around on. I'll still be around these forums, I have been for 2 years now and been very active with helping users with jailbroken phones. I even develop for the iPhone. I know it's a good device. I'm not just a troll coming to piss people off.

Just don't take it personally when someone does nothing more than state in plain facts that a devices has superior stats than the iPhone. I don't care what phone you get, what phone anyone else gets or what they prefer. In all reality, I don't care that much about the stats but I also don't care for your arrogance in assuming nobody else does.

It's about time this thread die. It's nothing more than flames now.

A lot of people to YOU doesn't negate the sales of the 3GS and all of the LOT that upgraded.

No one ever said anything about sales. In fact the 3GS brought in many new subscribers for AT&T. Don't post just to post.

Odd you say this as I never mentioned that "nobody cares." Just pointed out some individuals are obsessed with specs, which you brought up in response.

They care, but not as much as you feel they do. If that's the case, the "underspec'd" 13 in. MB wouldn't be flying off the shelves now.

I don't see how pointing out your obsession with specs (you were drawn into pointing out how much they matter, were you not?) is "flames," but that's just me.

As one of those new customers that purchased a 3GS, I did have a choice to get the 3G at 100 bucks cheaper. All of those new customers that bought the 3GS had that same choice. I would imagine like me, most went with the 3GS because of the SPECS.:rolleyes:

No, they went with it because it was "faster" and most likely sold to them. Oh, it has video - big whoop.

You underestimate a large portion of the buying public, especially with a device like this. It's pretty naive to think they went in there and even consider the 3G. Not everyone is "informed" as some on here, and individuals such as yourself always forget that in conversations like this.

Its just gets old after a while with a bunch of Evo this, incredible that threads in an iphone section.

I think it's partly because so many iPhone owners are moving to Droids and want to share their experiences. (People often feel like their old forums are family.)

And mostly because there's not much left to guess about the iPhone v4. Although sheesh, couldn't Gizmodo at least have used a magnifying glass to figure out its exact screen resolution?

I dont know, I see alot of newbies posting about their new noniphone cellphones and it sounds more like trolling and attacking than sharing.
Its the same people over and over. You want to leave and move on then go for it. You dont have to come here and defend your choice for whatever reason. Its a cellphone. Its not a once size fits all thing.

Didn't the first Droid have better specs than the iPhone 3GS? So why are we supposed to be surprised that this is "better" than the iPhone 3GS?

Excellent post.

Nothing to see here...move along. Seriously though, I would like to see another comparison in June if/when the new iPhone comes out. *Please don't disappoint us Steve!

Some are trolling and some are not. I think most people here respect the iPhone and as it was said above, see this community as their home. If I was to switch to an EVO I would still come here. You get attached to a website and I enjoy the banter here.

Plus you can also tell us what Apple's gonna do next.

I would like to see the comparisons once the 4th gen iPhone is released next month. I highly doubt you will be back here to post anything, Android fanboy. Please go away and post on an Android forum. After all, they will drink the kool-aid over there.

It lost to the Nexus One earlier this year and now again to the Droid Incredible on Cnet's Prizefight. Apple better step up their game or else .......RIP

Bahahahahahahah...

Oh, wait, you were serious?

A) CNet is comparing a phone not yet releasee with a phone that is 11 months old. Really? What is the purpose of this comparison besides to waste time, bandwidth, etc? Stupidest comparison ever. EPIC FAIL.

B) I heard the same thing about DROID. Funny. You can now buy a DROID, and, yes, GET ONE FREE!!! What does this mean? It means the Droid is an EPIC FAIL compared to the iPhone.

C) With regards to the Droid "Incredible":

--The bad: You can't use voice and data at the same time. The multimedia experience is adequate but still behind the competition.

--No App store that comes close to the Apple one.

EPIC FAIL Again.

And no, I am about as far from a fan boy as you can get as I HATE Apple Computers.

For me, it comes down to this.

If Verizon gets an iPhone before September*, when we can get new phones, then the wife and I are getting iPhones.

If Verizon doesn't get an iPhone, then the wife and I are getting Droid Incredibles.

We both want iPhones, love Verizon and have been individually screwed by ATT. Until Verizon gets the iPhone, we will just have to deal.

*If the phone is announced but not released by this time, we will probably wait.

I'm thinking strongly about the Incredible. I would prefer an iPhone because of its integration with the iTunes/iPod/MobileMe paradigm, but I'm committed to Verizon. I don't see any evidence that the iPhone is coming to Verizon any time soon (i.e., before the end of 2010). Most of the reviews of the Incredible rave about it; a few point out some issues that seem more like nuisances than real problems. Battery life looks like the biggest issue but there are options available. All in all it looks good, and I might go for it without even waiting for any potential announcements at WWDC.
