Seriously, Build A Macrumors App Already!!!

What the heck is taking so long? Throw a few grand my way and I'll design it myself and it'll be up in a few weeks.

What would you use the app for? Posting? I thought using it via Safari was good enough.

MacRumors App?

Hi Guys

This place is so great and helpful why and earthy would you not create an app for it? An iphone and ipad app would see this site go through the ROOF no doubt

Apologies if this has already been discussed.

Chris

I have been wondering the same thing. My biggest beef is in the spy mode on the ipad / iphone, half or more of the time when I tap on a thread to read, the page scrolls at the same time because of the updates and I tap on the wrong thread. I close the page and go to select the right thread and the page moves again and I select the wrong thread. I have to wait for it to move down, then tap right away before another refresh.

yes, we're going to do an app, but there's only so much time in the day. Yes, we could throw together a crappy RSS-feed app very quickly, but what's the point of that?

What about that app? What do you think about it...

It's been there for a while now, why hasn't it been forcibly removed?

it was removed from the U.S. store, but looks like it's lingering in some international stores.

Has anyone considered Forum Runner? It can be used with any vBulletin site, though the site itself has to either do some sort of approval, installation of extensions, or both.

There's a short thread proposing that MacRumors support it here:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1000611/

I believe that it's possible to either use the main ForumRunner app, or have it "private branded". I've only used the "private branded" version with AVSForum. (Audio Visual Science Forum). I find it a much more satisfactory experience on my iPad than using Safari.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

Any update on when this app is coming out?

Anyone else itching for a MacRumors iPad/iPhone app?

The site works fine through the various browsers (safari, etc), but a dedicated app with alerts for breaking news would be pretty sweet. Also, viewing the forums on my iPhone is anything less than optimal.

I hate viewing the forums on my iPhone, yet I still do it constantly. It would be very cool to have an app for that, but then again, I don't think I've used ANY apps with built in forums. Maybe that's not possible?

I think it would be cool too, especially the breaking news alerts. i wish I were smart enough to be able to develop one...

Yeah, I really want to learn to develop apps. I only know some PHP and im fluent in HTML/CSS. Those three languages won't do much for me outside of the web... :(

I have done away with site based apps. I now use Reeder app because it consolidates all of them into one place. Its awesome.

Would you guys be interested in collaborating to create this "highly desired" app? We just need a good pitch to sell to Arn :D. Oh, and we need to patent this idea NOW!
