This pre-order crap / no white phone / error message / can't process your order / on hold for an hour and 44 minute nonsense is RUINING my 1 year wedding anniversary gift plan!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah that's what I am doing, going in on launch day and hoping they have a white iPhone. If they don't, oh well I will get a black one.

Because I wanted to know whether or not I would be able to preorder the white today. And others are wondering the same thing.
That does look like AI rather than a real person... you should have asked something out of left field to test it.
The white iPhone has been keeping the black iPhone down for too long, so the government had to step in.
A friend of mine just called and said best buy is taking pre-orders for white in the physical store. Of course with a $50 deposit. He said they will call him when it comes in. Personally I think it is a scam. I think best buy will tell you anything to get your $$$$$$. I bet when he calls on the 24th asking where it is they will tell him its back ordered or some junk.
The whole thing is a fake! The iPhone 4 was just a ploy to drum up media attention for Apple!

Agreed. If they have the white available anytime before the 24th, they'll catch a lot of hell with people who ordered the black because they couldn't get the white. I'm betting the white will be at least a month away (and at least far enough out to be past the return policy.)

Yeah the whole new iPhone excitement has just worn off for me. I only want the white. But, seeing as how they demoed the white one all over the net and we never heard a peep about it not being available makes me wonder if there's a production issue (cracks? discoloration?). And if so, I'm going to be cautious before jumping in. Also, I can't imagine them releasing it until after the return period for the black ones or they'd have to deal with a lot of returns from folks who order the black only cuz the white wasn't available. Looks like a long wait.
Not all RadioShacks are taking pre-orders though. Others have stated that some are and some are not. I don't know why the change. Also, there have been some rumors that some BestBuys are stating they are doing it and others have said that they will not be doing it. Nobody knows. Throw the whole great white ghost mystery in there too, and Apples' web page going up and down constantly and this whole thing is just a disaster.
