[Merged] iPhone 4 pre-order only available in black / not available in white

Perhaps the more that do, the better chance they have of responding?

They said new iPhone June 24th, white and black. Their site says White currently unavailable for preorder or in store pickup. Sticking to just those 2 things, the white iphone should be available the 24th.

Maybe?

White Iphone be 30 days plus?

Im wondering if the white iphone is not released in the first few days of release, that apple will wait 30 days plus to release it to stop a wave of black phones being returned. Im sure Apple doesnt want to deal with that many returns. My wife is intent on waiting and shes not getting black because of this fear. Or prolly see a wave of blacks on sale at auction sights like ebay or craigslist. I admit, this handling of the colors hasnt been there best moment.

No one knows, really... and there's actually a good number of threads on it. ;)
 
If I remember correctly, Best Buy and Apple stores will carry white iPhone 4s on the 24th...you just can't pre-order it.
 
I hope for this, nobody really likes the idea of people taking away the ability to preorder a phone from others if they just plan on returning it

Anybody who preordered the black should be able to live with the color or it wasnt very smart to order a product they cant enjoy

Well put, I agree. Trust me, I have a white iPhone 32gb on preorder... I'm hoping for this as much as the next guy. :(
 
Apple site says late summer. Now, if they are going by AT&T's "late summer" it won't be out till the fall. But I would be happy if Apple wen't surprise! White iPhones at Apple Stores all around! and here's one for you, you little no-commitment purchaser, Goaliegeek!

Where does Apple's site say late summer?

I really don't like people throwing around dates or time frames without a source. Right now, there's been no official word from anyone about it.

That is well a said point of view that I did not even consider. I hope the people that want white will read it. I know i made my wife read it just now )

You aren't really taking one away from someone, as the person buying and returning is is using in that timeframe because they want it just as much as the next person, they will pay the restocking fee and then the phone will become a refurb and some lucky person will get to buy it.

If you don't get an iPhone on launch day it is your own fault.
 
An AT&T rep actually told me "We're highly recommending you place an order for the black iPhone and then exchange it for the white when its released. It will be within 30 days."

It was a chat rep too, so he had nothing to gain by a sale.


I have no reason to believe him; I still can't believe he told me that.

My fiancee and I ordered black ones. She said she can live with black if it doesn't come out in 30 days.
