Im so glad that i waited, it looks very different and slick and the people who say it looks feminine, i dont agree

It looks different, classy, think the glass helps, i hope people dont compare to the 3gs as that had a plastic back and although i think that still looked great this new design on the iPhone 4 just looks pure gorgeous

what do you guys think ?????????????

Also release dates, i cant get anything out of the apple chat guys though when i questioned about if i ordered black today, with a 3 week shipping and add delivery on top that would make it august how could the white then be available in july????

The lady responded with it will be available in July,

the shipping time will be shorter than 3 weeks, when i asked will it go the same as the black launch and she confirmed it will go on pre order from the online store and would be delivered for the release date provided you were one of the people to get in the first batch of orders

so its going to be exactly the same as the black process was, the only info she could not provide was dates but she told me to sign up to apple news and check my email on a daily basis from the 10th of July............is that a hint

correct assumption about black vs white

at this point if color were a non-issue and I just wanted to get a phone direct from apple, the wait time for either should technically be the same?

If i just wanted to order an iphone, direct from apple, don't care what color.

They said 2nd half of july for white, lets assume july 30th.
The black iphone on apple.com says 3 week wait time (its currently july 8th).

So either way its going to be 3 weeks+ to get either color?
 
That's a big "who knows?"

You may get a black faster (I assume you're talking about an online order through Apple).

You may get a white faster (but, as of now, we have no clue when they'll start preorders/sales).

You rolls the dice, you takes your chances, I reckon.

Right. I wanted a white, but am now at the point where i really dont care too much. But i log onto apple.com and see a 3 week wait time, perhaps a sign...

i dont think they will have them for pre order on the 10th but im guessing we may get some info about pre orders

i reckon pre orders will start around 21st july for a release date of 30th july which is a friday and the last weekday of the month, im guessing the 21st for pre order to give the same space as the black launch had, 15th-24th

what do u reckon
 
I'd be more confident about the white one coming in the second half of July if you could actually order one now and it had a ship time of 3 weeks like the black model.

Nut, the fact that you can't even order a white one right now means that there's no telling what could happen. There could be a very limited quantity at the outset and a 6-week lead time after that, for all we know.

The black iPhone 4 on the other hand, is a known quantity. You order it, it ships in 3 weeks. So if you're not willing to wait much longer and you really don't care about color, get the black one.

3 week wait time has been up for 2 weeks. Not a sign.

No one knows when the White will come out. But if you really want white, just wait a bit.
 
Take this info with your favorite brand of salt: I was at the Apple store at Crabtree Valley in Raleigh yesterday for a genius appointment and asked the guy I was working with when the white iPhone would be available for order. His response was that they've been informed it will be available for order on July 14th. He did mention that until they announce something, anything he's told is pretty much hearsay.

has anyone seen the white iphone 4 in person. i was holding out for it but wondering if the white face would distract from the screen???

I love how the new retina screen when turned off blends in with the black front where you almost can't see it. But I'd love to see a white back only though.

That is one of the reasons I could NEVER go white. Plus the screen itself lit up will look much better against a black background. How many white HD tv's do you see on the market? There is a reason for that. Color looks far better with a black border then it does white. Although if you bought a white back only? That might be interesting.
 
Alas, this is my dilemma, too. A few dithery OCD points to consider:

1) I am a small bit concerned that the screen will look gray and less intense than a black one. To have a black front and a white back is really the ultimate route.

2) When you look at the screen on the Apple site it looks great, very bright and lively. But when you look at photos of it, it looks grayer and less attractive Of course, that might be the way that different media look on a computer, and real life is always different. And Apple is going to make it look as good as possible on their site, right.

3) And, if you own a white one and you don't have it next to a black one, the lack of comparison will always make yours look great.

4) There is always the old dull idea of getting a black one and putting it in a white case.
