I think it will be like the 3G ---> 3GS transition.

So double ram (512mb), new GPU, 64gb available, faster CPU. (arm cortex A9 based?)

I'm more thrilled about iOS 5.0 ;)

What I'd like: FM radio with RDS and live pause. C'mon, the Nano got it.

This. Most likely another small speed bump.

They may include some small feature ala compass.

I'd like to see a lightsaber function. Blue, please.

Also, a play/pause button for God's sake.

I would also like a clip on accessory that adds a 180 degree fish eye lens over the front and back cameras and then you can take full 360 degree quicktime VRs which are then processed and viewable on your phone. You can then create virtual tours of your holidays and immerse your friends when you get back home!

hmm, actually i do have a lot more of these cool ideas, Steve are you listening.....:D

Anyone holding out for next summer's iPhone 5?

With all due respect, I understand many MR followers will be enjoying new iPhone 4's come tomorrow and of course Thursday. Albeit, I'm so tempted to jump when the white version becomes available, but I'm having second thoughts about waiting until next summer.

The major reason I would be tempted now to get iPhone 4 is the new FaceTime feature. I still think it needs some polish (i.e. video call capability b/w multiple carriers - not just iP4 to iP4 over wi-fi) before I could seriously commit to making the upgrade. It's more than obvious that this would involve some serious infrastructure overhaul - a la more 4G networks in place. However, I'm curious to know how many folks out there are patiently waiting (as much as you can) for next summer's iPhone 5/4G?

Does anyone have any insight as to why Apple kept the flash memory the same as the 3GS (16 and 32GB)?

If I don't get my iPhone 4 that I ordered on 6/15, I just may wait till next summer. I'm just a stubborn old man!!!

Nope, iPhone 4 is my first.

I WILL say this - regardless of what happens in the future I will NOT order on launch day. I'll wait a month or two and roll into the store and walk right out w/ my new toy. This process was for the birds.

no. because ATT will allow me to upgrade again for $199/$299.

Which I'll sell my iPhone 4 for $400 and get the new one with that $$.

Just like what I'm doing now for the iPhone 4.

Nope, ive waited a year for the Iphone 4 and theres no way im waiting another year. And if i was you i would just go for the 4.

I'll be getting mine tomorrow. In reference to your question about storage. Just a guess as anyones else's will be, but I think there will be a mid cycle refresh where we see 32GB as the low end and 64GB as the high end.

Every iPhone I've had including my yesterday sold 3GS I got more for it then I paid. That said if iPhone 5 is worth it next year I'll get it also.

iPhone 5 will have a couple features that will need polishing, so you might as well wait it out for iPhone 6, at which point you might as well wait for iPhone 7, at the very least.

I'm guessing you've had good success selling old hardware at full price, no? How does that work? I mean I would rather buy new hardware that is cheaper and that has never been used. The only way this makes sense to me is if you sell the old hardware cheaper than the new and at a significant amount. Am I missing something?
