I think it is, I believe the next layer is the stainless steel frame. There may be some sort of laminate on the underside though, but I don't think there is plastic.

I hope your right that sounds amazing.

White MBP?

No, not at all, OCD right here and I was thinking this as well, but how do you figure the white model would better match your Mac and iPad? All recent and current Macs with a display (except for the MBA) feature the black bezel, so wouldn't the black iPhone match that better? This goes along with the iPad as well.

Conversely, I feel the white iPhone would be better matching with the rest of Apple's peripherals, such as the Time Capsule/Airport Extreme, the aluminum keyboard, the Magic Mouse, and of course, the iPhone dock (and iPad dock). Also, the only Mac I think that would best compliment the white iPhone 4 would be the Mac Mini, with it's white top.

With all this in mind, I'm actually leaning towards the white model.

Ok ok very valid points! And I'm glad I'm not the only crazy one here! Haha! I guess I was thinking that white is a closer match to silver then the black is, but you're right about the bezel...I guess the black would be just about a perfect match to the iPad and iMac( my personal needs...). You think I could have figured that out on my own? I mean I'm writing this on an iPad...sheesh!

Another thing about the white iPhone, I usually prefer the white over the black in previous generations...but now that it's wrapped in glass, do you guys see this weird clear seam thing around the home button? This is the first iPhone where the black looks better than white, to me! Ahhh maybe I'll have to see one for myself before pre-ordering :(

God, this forum is like Apple Anonymous or something!

i know there is colored glass what im saying is i doubt the entire back is pure glass on a phone. i should of worded my earlier post differently.

OK, since you appear to want to be thwacked with this, watch this (from around 5:18):

The front and back are glass, and the display is actually laminated to the front glass, which should also eliminate all of the whining about dust under the glass (watch from around 2:17).

I am really torn too. This is how I see it though: The black seems more youthful, energetic, and spunky. The white seems more executive, refined, and mature.

Anyone else agree? I always liked the black iPhones, until I really saw what the white iPhone 4 looks like...and personally, I kinda like the little grille above the ear speaker.

I'll be getting white since it adapts better to color cases.

I just hope the new design will make it dust-under-screen proof. It really annoyed me on my old phones that after some months/years I'd get dust under the screen. Since I like to keep my phones in my pants' pockets.

I'm torn between heaven (Apple) and hell (at&t) but if I take the plunge it will be the white one. Simply stunning.

I wasn't too keen on the white at first - I thought it looked too much like the white PSP. The black offers a nice frame for video and pictures.

This is the main thing making me shy away from the white. Having the white bezel around the screen will make the display look darker, basic color theory. Now will it make the blacks look deeper (pro), or will it cause the screen to look less bright and vibrant than that of a black iPhone (con).

I think I'll have to wait and see them both in person.

This is my problem too! What if we are reordering!! What to do!

I hate you... lol jk

I didn't even think about that until you brought it up. You reminded me of my 2 old samsung lcd sets. One in the bathroom was white/glossy and bedroom black/glossy.

The black made you focus more on the image and the colors seem to pop more than white. When seeing the white glossy panel it made me focus more on that than the actual image itself.

is white too feminine though?

get whatever color makes you happy!

there is no such thing as white being a feminine color, either white or black works for men and or women. pick what ever color you like best, in my case its white.

White. Hands down.

It feels more "classic," more bold. It's upbeat and smooth at the same time.
It's coming to the party in the white tux — you're the classiest person of the night.

White is the new black. Shaken, not stirred.

White tends to show more dirt faster and does not show finger prints (oily) that easily unless put out against the sun. Scratches are much noticeable on white than black.

actually i think you will find its the other way round, scratches are more noticeable on black.

Im getting white, time for a change. Had black 3G and 3GS.

Exactly, better yet would be a gunmetal grey; so color neutral =P.

That was one of the reasons Apple previously made the pro displays and laptops with a grey bezel. They've obviously moved away from that choice in favor of black bezels on recent products (probably just a more aesthetically pleasing design choice).

Most of the people I see with white are guys. Most girls I know have the black iPhone.

I've noticed this as well! Far more guys I know have white iPhones, which is exactly the opposite of what some people would think. Either way, I love the look of the white model — it'll definitely be my choice.

hmm everyone I ask in person say the white looks feminine (that's the only thing holding me back) but you know what, yall have inspired me!

I'm tired of the black (had the 16 GB 3g for 3 years)

ready for something new!

woot woot!

now I just gotta get a zagg or bodyguard film to protect it
