If you can't see that the new iPhone's design is much different from the previous versions then you are a tool.

This is a huge update to the iPhone. The hardware is a completely new design! Of course, the front looks the same, but what are you expecting? The iPhone will ALWAYS have a huge screen and one button, so don't plan on that changing anytime soon.

What do you suggest Apple to do? Make a triangular phone, or maybe a circular phone that can dub as a frisbee?

I have been waiting for a "true update" to TV since I knew what a TV was, and it is still a rectangular box!

He wants a square wheel.

By your logic, any given car has looked the same for the past 10 years. They all have four wheels, seats, doors, I mean, what's the difference?

I agree. BMW changes their body style once every 6-7 years. They give a refresh mid cycle. But a full body redesign doesn't occur until years 6-7.

Using that same analogy. Apply it to the ever changing tech world. The iPhone 4g that was announced is the first major redesign of the iPhone. The iPhone and iPhone 3g were basicaly the same hardware minus the GPS and 3g chip.

The 3gS was a very subtle change from the 3g. But it packed a punch with faster processor and more RAM. This is like BMW making a new 3 series in 2005 with the 325/328 model and with the 2007 model it added the 335 with the twin turbo engine.

The iPhone 4g has new parts, new design. What more do you want? Stick to the basic design and add to it. This is considers a major redesign with the iPhone 4

You people will never be satisfied..

You asked for a better camera.. Done
you asked for better battery
multi tasking
copy and paste
front facing camera
stronger faster Better quality screen
video high def
wall paper
Bluetooth gaming
pretty much all you can put in a phone and you still are not happy
I should start a company that makes a differnt phone for each whiney person.
What now??? What is it now??? It doesn't talk to you???
It can't project movies?? It doesn't make photo copies and print it on little paper??

If a phone had every feature everyone wanted, there would be no room for improvement... I wish all the complainers lived 50 years ago with out all this stuff at their fingertips!

Don't get me wrong, I'm satisfied with the new iPhone, but if anything, I just want an OS refresh. I'm tired of seeing the same static icons and UI.

I'm sure I'm alone, but the new iphone is fugly

I think they took a step backwards in terms of design. I love the sleekness of the 3gs, it all looks melded together and seamless. When I look at the new 4g it just looks like it is a prototype, hacked together until the designers get together and give it aesthetics.

Don't get me wrong, I'll probably be first in line to buy one based on the sweet specs. But purely from an aesthetic point of view it's just not doing it for me.

I can't work out if I'm wrong or you lot are just incredibly hardcore Apple fans.

I'm not trying to stir but really. Stop for a second and think. Surely the design of the iPhone needs to change at some point.

If MacBook Pros had all the power and useability they have today but still looked like this, would you be happy? Surely not...

The fundamental question here is what more do you want from it? It's always gonna have a big screen that takes up most of the front. Now the back and sides have been completely redesigned. Saying that the iPhone 4 looks subtly different from the original iPhone is just like saying that the laptop in your picture looks subtly different from a new MacBook Pro.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Yeah! What it really needs is 50 buttons, 8 ports, a home screen with every bit of data on the phone represented in tiny cartoonish icons, dual slide out keyboards, and a small padlock. Plus it needs to be oval and play CD ROMs. Bring back the CD ROM!

This is what I was thinking about myself this morning. Apple needs to rethink the UI.

The only disappointment is the wait till 6/24. It feels depressing... Kinda like the break week between the NFC/AFC championship games and the Super Bowl.

Ya, it's just a 3gs with a faster processor, better network chip, better camera, camera flash, front facing camera, gyroscope, better antenna, more (front) color options, new design, higher resolution screen, HD recording capability, bigger battery and a noise cancellation mic.

You're right, they should have just called it the 3gs2.

Lmao, some people right?

You can always go get this cell phone.

I'm not going to say I hate the design, though it is giving me pause. Perhaps when I see it in person, I'll be able to say I like or hate it for sure.

Unlike the older models, which I was able to say I love the design as soon as they came out, this one is not.

With its sharper edges and stainless steel, the iPhone 4 looks more masculine for lack of a better word.
