I tend to agree with the OP. The keynote was disappointing.
And the Gizmodo post sure took the wind out of Steve's mystery.
Great specs, only the EVO and Sprint prices now look as good, or better.....
What do you suggest Apple to do? Make a triangular phone, or maybe a circular phone that can dub as a frisbee?
I have been waiting for a "true update" to TV since I knew what a TV was, and it is still a rectangular box!
What did you expect? This can't go on forever - Apple can't forever just bump the memory/camera/screen res etc. At some point they will surely have to actually update the overall design.
apple could get out of the contract if they really wanted to. Dont be so foolish.
Verizon does not use world-wide GSM standard
T-Mobile does not use standard GSM frequency, and T-MObile is smaller than AT&T
Hum let's see, what the the options? Can other carriers handle 40x data usage increase?

There's *everything* to be said for 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Apple will redesign the iPhone interface when it needs to be redesigned, not just to keep a few fair-weather types content. It'll get designed when the public stops responding to it, and based on the fact that the iPad is based on it, that's going to be a long time from now. Count on "iOS" getting minor facelifts every now and then for a long time rather than big, shocking upgrades like computer OSs get.I know there's a lot to be said for 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it', but consumers won't indefinitely but they same thing - Apple will have to revisit the design sometime.
