I'm voting "yes," but not til next summer. I'd have loved to have it offered this go-round, but I understand why it couldn't be. I'll totally snap one up if they're available in 2011, though.

I wouldnt be surprised if they added a 64gb model in a few months if the demand is great enough. I'm betting it'll be $399 tho doubt they'll wipe out the 16gb model.

May I ask why you would need 64GB of space on a phone? I know I'm going with the 32GB, but that is only because of the 720P video capability probably needing more room. Although I bet I will probably have a hard time filling that up regardless. I have an 8GB iPhone 3G right now and I don't think I have ever had more than 5GB used.

Do you guys have a lot of mp3s or something or what?

I need 64 GB of space because my phone is also my primary iPod. For the last few months, I've had to drive from St. Louis to central FL several times and like to listen to movies while I drive to pass the time. In order to store several movies, you need space. Otherwise, it's sit and wait at a gas station to sync the phone and add/delete movies as needed, which is time consuming and a bit of a PITA as well.

I also have several GB of music, photos, and movies. It's enough that I can't carry all of what I want on my 32GB 3GS at once; ergo, I'd like to see more storage capacity. Just because not everyone sees the need for a high storage capacity phone doesn't mean the option shouldn't be offered for those that do.

Here's my take, and maybe I'm crazy. I think the best chance of a 64 GB iPhone 4 is if and when they announce a 128 GB iPad, which wouldn't really shock me too much. I just think they don't want the iPhone to be on par with the iPad as far as storage goes. Just an idea.

Oh yeah I wasn't trying to say that it shouldn't be offered. I'm all for it, I was just wondering why hehe. I can understand where you're coming from.

Well the iPhone is a 1 device for all. So it's replacing a lot of iPods. I have a 60gb iPod in my car however it's only half full so the 32gb is fine for me to have a mirror image of it on my phone since I never take the iPod out of the car. But I can see where people with bigger music libraries would need the 64gb.

I think Apple thought all the other updates to the phone made it enticing enough that they didn't need to bump the storage space on the phone.

That is one of the things I was expecting, apple might be as always milking the refresh cycles. I travel a lot without my Mac :( and between apps, movies and podcasts my iPhone is alway full, I not even put music in it. I have a 3G, 16 GB, I am always in need of more. 32GB will be a very good improvement for me, but with HD video recording I will need much more. The work around for the videos recorded might be to record them and then send them to MobileMe or email them when at the hotel Wi-Fi, so then delete them to get free space. It is not the most elegant thing but kind of a work around.
While on the road is when you need 64 GB the most, specially long flights, any more than 4 hours round trips, plus all the nights away from home.
I think you are right about apple wanting to have the iPad with a bigger capacity than the iPhone.

yes exactly, a lot of mp3s. 120GB on my computer, so I have no trouble filling my 32GB iPhone that I use as my only iPod. Swapping out music every now and then isn't terrible, but I would definitely consider a 64GB model. I don't think that the cloud is a viable solution in the near term for media. People don't consistently have access to the bandwidth they need. Definitely music moreso than video, but even streaming music will either be at a low bitrate or use a lot of data.

I don't think that they will be offering 8GB iPhones forever. As soon as apps start getting written native for the 960x640 screen they are going to have double the file sizes, and with folders to more easily manage large quantities of apps, and with better and richer apps constantly coming out, people are definitely going to start filling several GB just in their apps.

Yeah I've noticed a lot of the major release games like guitar hero and **** are all 100 MB+. Not to mention those big navigation apps like Navigon. I don't really have a problem with mp3s personally I listen to internet radio using the Tuner2 app, but I understand where you guys are coming from.

This is the one thing that I was disappointed with after the keynote. I was really hoping for a 64GB model.

Oh, I'm still pre-ordering a 32GB though! Just sayin'...

would you of wanted a 64GB iPhone 4 ?

with last years iPod touch having a 64GB.. we assume the next iPhone ''iPhone 4'' should have a memory upgrade up to 64GB but now we know its maxed out to 32GB for now..but ipad has 64GB but they must have no room to install a bigger memory

so would you wanted a 64GB iPhone 4/expected to see a 64GB model when this iPhone 4 came out?

i assume everyone saw the leak iPhone 4 with the XXGB on the back of it..

as for me i was expecting a 64GB version and was going to get it..this would be very handy now that iPhone 4 records HD..but i still have like 6GB left in my 3GS so now i come to think of it that 32GB will be ok..plus i dont really have much music in my ipod in my iPhone due to i just stream pandora/slacker radio

I would have bought it in a heartbeat. My music & podcast library is around 35GB, photos around 5GB, apps 2GB.

64GB would leave tons of room for two years of expansion and some movies for odd emergencies (eg, delayed at an airport). I hate wasting time manually shuffling content on and off my 16GB 3G. I'd rather just sync everything and go.

No.

ive got ~300gb of music and to be honest some of the stuff i havent listened to in years. whilst it is nice to have all of it on your iphone it frankly isnt really that important to me. i go through phases of listening to stuff anyway and to browse through 64gb of music or even 80gb of music on my ipod is a right pain if you cant think of exactly what u want to listen to.

so for me 16gb is fine and as i regular sync/backup its no big deal to delete albums from syncing playlist and drop in new albums....

No... I have everything I could possibly want on my 32GB 3GS and still have 8GB free. If Apple had offered 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPhone 4s, I would have still purchased the 32GB one.

Besides, Apple is saving the 64GB model for Verizon! :)

Your reasoning is incorrect. We have a thread on it here where many of us, including myself, explained why we wouldn't be getting a 64GB iPhone at launch.

Yeah, I could have used a 64GB iPhone. I had to trim my music collection down considerably to fit it onto my 32GB, and that's to say nothing of TV shows, movies, photos, etc. And, with the new iPhone, 720p video and 5MP camera shots. More space is never a bad thing.

YES, absolutely, I would have LOVED a 64GB iPhone...I have a 64GB iPod Touch, and I love it...
