While I'm on a roll with ranting about haters, why is everyone so hung up against 'fashion' anyway? Now you'd only have to take one glance at me IRL to realise that I'm not remotely fashionable, and I'm discrete with gadgets like the iPhone (for one thing, who needs to be pestered with questions all the time, and in a working man's environment such as the pub I don't really want to disclose how much it cost if I can help it which is an inevitable question). But, well, the vast majority of the population participates in fashion every time they put on their clothes, apply makeup, drive a car etc etc. Oh noes, how evil!

Funny how the ones who are so keen to accuse us of buying phones for attention are so loud and attention-seeking with their non stop repetitive trolling.

Whew, think I'm done now :D

It only annoys me when they talk about how perfect their phone is though, I'm willing to admit the iphone has issues, i might not be able to make a call but at least my screen isn't falling off (HTC EVO 4G) :D

Attention iPhone 4 Haters

I just wanted to let all of you know that it's getting really annoying when someone claims that they are having excellent reception, and someone always has to spout off something like false, or wrong, or epic uber fail, blah, blah blah.

I hope some of you realize that if EVERYONE was dropping every call they made on the iPhone 4, it would be HUGE NEWS. Every single phone would be returned and Apple would be working on a new hardware version. Sadly for all of you Negative Nancys, this isn't the case, but you can still try to bring us down to your level and get us to attend your pity party. I imagine a dart board with Steve Jobs face attached to it and all of you wearing party hats as you sob and cry all over your iPhone 4's as you death grip them.

Honestly why don't you all just take your phones back? Instead you death grip your iPhone 4 in one hand, and browse macrumors.com in the other as you scream at those of us that are having a great time with our new phones.

One more question. If this were as big of a deal as you're all making it out to be, don't you think that EVERY SINGLE REVIEW the iPhone 4 had before launch would be screaming this out in bold letters? If you'll notice, nearly every professional iPhone 4 review is a positive one. Most even go on to say that its the best phone on the market. But let me guess, Apple must have paid off EVERY SINGLE REVIEWER.... RIGHT?

Uhmmm...

If you're having no problems with your iPhone 4, fantastic, great for you. Now move along as the many of us continue pointing out that we ARE having problems with ours.

Was it really so important for you to make this thread? Honestly? I've got a phone that doesn't work, so I'm posting about it.

I'm not an iPhone 4 hater, but I damned sure hate products that don't work as advertised, period, regardless of who makes them.

Move along...

No, YOU move along. What do you think WE are going to gain from hearing about your reception issues that can EASILY be put to rest with a bumper or a case?

I've said it a million times. I DON'T THINK ITS RIGHT that you HAVE TO use a case if you're having issues, but thats what it's come down to.

Is the iPhone 4 worth buying a $5-$25 case for? I think so. You don't?

TAKE IT BACK!

We don't need to hear about your reception issues and the fact that most of you don't believe that some of us are having a GREAT time with our iPhone 4's.

This board has turned into a big flood of negative comments about how bad the iPhone 4 is and how it can't even BE A PHONE. That is just ridiculous and i'm tired of it. If you don't want the phone, take it back. If you want it to work, buy a case. It's as simple as that.

I don't wanna take my phone back, I just want it to *****ing work like it's supposed to! Is having a phone that can make phone calls and not try to hang up on the person I'm talking to or dial everyone in my contact list to much to ask for. Great, your phone works as it's supposed to, those of us who paid a good deal of money for our phones would like that flawless experience too!

Oh, this changes everything! Everyone, listen up, I know many of use are having problems with our new $600 cell phones, but this guy here has absolutely no problems with his and is quite enjoying his new phone. So let's all just ignore our problems and let this man enjoy his new phone in peace. That is all.

Take your phone back. It's not worth wasting your time on a mac forum complaining about a phone that, in your eyes, isn't even a phone.

BTW, whats with everyone saying they paid $600 for their phone? You're telling me you paid the full price? Or is that Englands price? Either way, thats not worth it for any phone.

It gets really annoying when someone claims they're experiencing the genuine 'Death-grip' issue and someone always has to spout off something like false, or wrong, or YOU'RE HOLDING IT WRONG.

your argument goes both ways, OP.

Uhmmm... because neither a bumper, nor a case, actually have any affect on my iPhone 4's signal degradation and reception problems when I hold it in my hand?

What, now you'll rebut that by saying "Ok, so your phone is defective, TAKE IT BACK!" and I'll rebut with "No" and you'll rebut with something very close to insulting me but not quite crossing that line for fear of getting yourself banned for such a thing.

Look, we get you and many other people have no problems, more power to you. Move along and let the rest of us with problems discuss our problems.

If you seriously think that I'm going to buy a case for a phone that is marketed completely and totally as a product that doesn't require a case - in fact, the only Apple marketing materials you'll find for the Bumper never actually show anyone using it, or in the hands of someone on an iPhone 4 - you're sadly mistaken.

Returning it, or TAKING IT BACK, isn't enough.

Move along... seriously, you've made your point, now move along. You're starting to troll up your own thread by apparently taking all this quite personally now as noted by your increasingly outraged tone.

Moving along will certainly address that issue...

OP, no one is making you come here and this thread will not stop anything. No one is making you view the iphone forums of this website either.

If you do not like the forums, then don't frequent them. Surely you could then enjoy your iphone in peace

The fact is that this is an Apple based forum. There is a signal issue that many are experiencing with Apple's new flagship device and this is a forum that deals with Apple issues. Recognize that instead of trying to police the forums to be what you want them to be like which will never happen

To be honest, its not people like you that i'm angry at. You have valid points and aren't denying that I'm enjoying my phone.

I'm fed up with people that flat out diss and deny people that are claiming they have great service and great phones. It's getting ridiculous. You can't go three posts without someone calling an iPhone 4 fan a liar.

This is a MAC forum by the way. Do you know what a troll is?

When did I ever say that? It is a great phone when I don't touch the forbidden zone, but it is rediculus that apple won't exchange my defective phone for another working phone like the one you have. Is that really unreasonable?

Agree with you but beware that the babies will try to have their way with you.

I actually have been avoiding them and after this post i'm done. I used to love coming on here and chatting with people that actually have something relative to say. Now its just Android fanboys posing as iPhone users and ignorant iPhone 4 owners crying about everything under the sun.

See ya later nut lovers.

See, that wasn't so tough now was it.

There's two actual sides to this argument in principle, or there should be, but there's 4 in reality:

Side 1: Those who have purchased an iPhone 4 and, barring some very minor issues (like the green tint from the camera, perhaps some issue with Wi-Fi usage, etc) they have no major concerns, issues, or problems and they are quite satisfied - ok, let's say they're freakin' blissfully happy with their iPhone 4. That's the group you're in, Sean4123.

Side 2: Those who have purchased an iPhone 4 and, either completely on their own with no outside assistance or information or with some nod in the right direction by a friend, coworker, family member, news report, blog posting, website article, forum posting, etc etc - have discovered that they are not "special" and as lucky as those on Side 1 - that they are having real issues, reproducible ones, and perhaps they've actually even returned theirs and replaced them and shockingly they've discovered "Oh crap, this one is borked too." That's the group I'm in.

Now the troublemakers:

Side 3: The Apple Fanatics, for whom Apple - and Steve Jobs by implication - can do absolutely no wrong, ever. If they bought an iPhone 4 and it blew up in their faces as soon as they turned it on the first time, their immediate reaction would be (after regaining consciousness): "Not a problem, Steve Jobs and Apple will fix it." There's nothing you can do about the people on this Side, nothing at all. They have existed since Apple began in the mid-1970s (when I was pretty young but I built an Altair 8800 since the Apple was way more expensive) and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Side 4: The Apple Bashers, for whom Apple - and Steve Jobs by implication - deserve to be hung out to dry, deserve to be taken down many notches, if for no reason other than they preach elitism and "We're better than you" and the Bashers aren't going to put up with that for any reason. They hate Apple, Steve Jobs, and everything either of them stand for, forevermore. There is really nothing you can do about the people on this Side either, nothing at all. They'll never change, for any reason, so it's best to avoid them whenever possible, just as you should in the case of Side 3 dwellers.

That's pretty much it.

As for knowing what a troll is, I've been chatting with computers "online" since 1976, so... yeah, I know precisely what they are, where they come from, and how best to handle them... that should seem pretty obvious by now. ;)

You do know that you eventually pay that price right? That's why they keep you locked into a 2 year contract.

I paid over $700 to stay out of contract so I can leave whenever and if the iPhone goes to Verizon.

So then let me get this straight. When someone that DOES have a properly working phone posts, you feel they should get attacked? Because that is what happens, and that's what the OP was commenting on.

For the most part it seems to be mostly new members doing this, but not all by any means.

Does the OP realize that any thread started explicitly to call someone else out is only going to draw them out that much faster? Therefore, threads like these are just as bad as the ones he's complaining about.
