No, YOU move along. What do you think WE are going to gain from hearing about your reception issues that can EASILY be put to rest with a bumper or a case?

I've said it a million times. I DON'T THINK ITS RIGHT that you HAVE TO use a case if you're having issues, but thats what it's come down to.

Is the iPhone 4 worth buying a $5-$25 case for? I think so. You don't?

TAKE IT BACK!

We don't need to hear about your reception issues and the fact that most of you don't believe that some of us are having a GREAT time with our iPhone 4's.

This board has turned into a big flood of negative comments about how bad the iPhone 4 is and how it can't even BE A PHONE. That is just ridiculous and i'm tired of it. If you don't want the phone, take it back. If you want it to work, buy a case. It's as simple as that.

When all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know ya do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)

When everything is wrong we move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong, we move along
Along, along, along

Mine is fine and works great...I hate all the people being babies that their iphone isn't 100% perfect...it's a cell phone not your life ok? So get the crap over it:D

So then let me get this straight. When someone that DOES have a properly working phone posts, you feel they should get attacked? Because that is what happens, and that's what the OP was commenting on.

For the most part it seems to be mostly new members doing this, but not all by any means.

And the exact inverse is true, hence this thread's existence.

Someone that's not having problems at all as the OP stated felt compelled to create a thread that (under false assumption) points the finger at everyone that is having problems and automagically labeling us as "iPhone 4 Haters" - or did you miss that part?

This very thread is exactly what the OP is trying to point out as unnecessary.

Need proof? Fine.

Does the OP realize that any thread started explicitly to call someone else out is only going to draw them out that much faster? Therefore, threads like these are just as bad as the ones he's complaining about.

Announcing to the world your phone is fine in the face of people who are having problems isn't productive. It's basically a passive-aggressive attempt to quiet the dissenters, because hey, if enough people proclaim something is awesome they'll either get on board or go away.

If on the other hand you're helping figuring out why your phone works and other's don't, buckets of Internet Points for the constructive troubleshooting.

That is the OP point.... If you are not getting that experience that the rest of us are having, then return the phone and get the 3gs. No use in complaining in a forum that is not going to get you anywhere.

If the phone doesn't work for you, then why keep it ? Send it back, and wait until Apple comes out with a fix, and then come back and buy the iPhone.

I don't wanna take my phone back, I just want it to *****ing work like it's supposed to! Is having a phone that can make phone calls and not try to hang up on the person I'm talking to or dial everyone in my contact list to much to ask for. Great, your phone works as it's supposed to, those of us who paid a good deal of money for our phones would like that flawless experience too!

Right, so anyone that isn't having a problem should just keep that on the down low.

I'm fed up with people that flat out diss and deny people that are claiming they have great service and great phones. It's getting ridiculous. You can't go three posts without someone calling an iPhone 4 fan a liar.

This is a MAC forum by the way. Do you know what a troll is?

This has been discussed extensively, but apparently word doesn't get out.

No one is denying that many iPhone owners are not experiencing issues.
However, the current thinking is that all iPhone 4s have this issue. Its a hardware design issue. But it is dependent upon location. Many locations work fine, some don't. Weak signal strength definitely makes the problem visible. It may also depend on the frequency used in a particular location.

Interesting to see that you were using computers since the 1970s. When I kept seeing you rebut every single "my phone works" post in every single problem thread I had you pegged for the under 15 crowd.

It's probably just the catchy username that stuck in my head, sorry.

Of course not. I saw lots of help in the SIM card thread. If they don't want to help, however, starting threads or participating in threads to antagonize people isn't productive.

But the OP has a point.

I've seen a lot of "bla bla signal, they are all broken".

"I've tried all day and I can't for the life of me get mine to fail."

... then the attacks come in. Like the dude with the working phone is a complete moron.

It's got nothing to do with troubleshooting, proclaiming yourself to be an iPhone4 guru, or anything else. It's just simple rock throwing for no reason.

Quick, somebody use their iPhone to call...

I think it's possible some may be fine due to manufacturing tolerance or something else, but I just wanted to add that the phone has been on the market only days. After people move around more, situations may make the problem more apparent to more people. I generally only have the problem to the extent of dropped calls at home, so I obviously noticed it right away.

I love my iPhone 4. But for me the iPhone is not a phone. I rarely make handheld phone calls with it. If I could choose 100 min a month I would. I use it A LOT for work, web, fun, and family. The Face Time use is worth it enough for me. I have no real complaints.

Yes, it sucks that some/many have reception issues. I hope this gets resolved.

But once again, I love you iPhone 4.

God your a hypocrite. (see bold)

Considering the multivariate nature of the problem, you should have an open mind that you may exhibit issues under situations you haven't encountered in just a few days. Andatech posted an outstanding piece on this today that may very well explain it all.

I don't read this whole board, but my casual observation is that most times when someone is ridiculed for having a working phone, their post implied the other people are in some way wrong for having problems, and then the problem people should either be quiet or go away.

I've got a phone that doesn't work, so I'm posting about it.

I'm not an iPhone 4 hater, but I damned sure hate products that don't work as advertised, period, regardless of who makes them.

Move along...
Well said. *I agree with you 100%.*

I too have a genuine problem with my iPhone 4. As a long time Apple customer, I'm both surprised and disappointed. Especially since it's well known that earlier iPhones have poor phone performance.*

It's important for those of us with defective phones to post about it. Especially since Apple chooses to deny nearly any problem with wireless subsystems that surfaces in their products.*

Well thank you, and I've had this user name since before "broadband" ever existed, even before Ethernet really took hold... ;)

I don't go off rebutting people that make claims of no issues with their iPhone 4's - I do go after people that state "because my iPhone 4 works, and because it's an Apple product, and Steve Jobs said there's nothing wrong with it, then dammit you people should just ****, take it back, return it, sell it, get rid of it, blend it, etc etc" ad nauseum.

I do go after those that do the one-two punch: they say they have no issues, and then they always add "and the rest of you saying you have problems are out of your mind/crazy/insane/lunatics/trolls/what have you."

Those are targeted, yep, I'll admit it. Cross that line and I'm all over you... ;)

I've said nothing other than this basic statement since last Wednesday since I got my iPhone 4 (with a lot added, of course, for various reasons):

If you have an iPhone 4 and you're not having issues, congrats, I hope it continues working for you in that way. Just as I respect that you and many other people have no issues whatsoever, I hope you'll return the favor and the respect by understanding that many of us do, myself included.

That's my statement, and I'm stickin' to it...
