It's just frustrating to see the later orders getting progress and those of us who ordered 8-9th stagnate
How many people from Florida, specifically South Florida, have tracking numbers if you ordered from Apple.com? I ask because I believe what was said above to this person may be the case. I am thinking that South Florida is super far from China and apple could have very likely shipped phones to various locations prior to us tracking this stuff and they are being held at various delivery sites.
Again, this is often done with other products such as books, video-games, movies. At least that is what I am hoping cause mine still says "prepared for shipping" and has said that for over the past 24 hours now and I really hope to get it by Friday. I already sold my 3G and am going through major withdrawal using a regular cell phone. So painful..
I'm down in Broward County and my status on Apple changed to "prepared for shipment" yesterday. As of today, the status is still "prepared for shipment".

I'm not from south florida but i'm in northern va/washington dc so it's east coast and i think all our assumptions are right about our shipments being in the batch that's already in the U.S.

Did anybody else's "RECEIVER REQUESTED FOR A HOLD ON THE PACKAGE" just dissapear?
I checked right now, and it just dissapeared and isn't showing the Louisville, KY scan.
It's showing CH as it's last scan.

anyone from New Jersey waiting for their phones? mine shipped this morning from China. i ordered on the 8th.
Just checked my UPS tracking site and the status has changed from Exception to In Transit On Time and the delivery date now says today, 6/17/09 (again) which I know is not the case. However, now the KY scan is removed and last scan show China on 6/16. WTF?! I dont think UPS can keep up with this crap. Apple, just let me have my phone & go work on iChat or something useful.
Ok, just called UPS again (as its funny @ this point). They said its coming in from China & will be there Friday. When I pressed her and noted that I knew it was in the US since early this morning she then noted the sender has requested a Friday delivery.

i agree that they are probably shipping out to certain areas in groups, so i think that instead of just "mine shipped" or "mine is still prepared for shipping," tell us where you are having it shipped and when you ordered.
can't do anything about when they will arrive, but with all of the people posting on this forum, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out if there are any patterns and what they are if so. that will take at least some of the guesswork out of it.
i ordered yesterday morning (6/16) 7:35am pacific time. i am having mine delivered to las vegas, nv. current status is "prepared for shipping."
my order status page still says "delivery by 6/19," so i am trusting that for now.

Central Florida (Orlando) and no tracking number. Ordered on 6/10, order switched to "Prepared For Shipment" around 12:15 PM 6/16 and hasn't budged. It's slightly encouraging to see a contingent of people from roughly the same geographical area as me having the same issue, makes me think all our phones are together somewhere.

I ordered on the 8th..at 7:51 pm pdt from Apple. Mine hasn't been shipped yet.
I'm not worried.
I feel I should ask the obvious question...If they have a large stockpile in the US, why not ship it early through priority, not overnight, and if they are scheduled to arrive early just have them held like the ones from china. Isn't waiting until the last minute costing apple more and potentially risking late delivery.
I want to believe the stockpile idea, but as time goes on I am beginning to doubt it very much.

west palm beach, got my tracking number last night, on a plane from hong kong right now. black 32gb ordered on the 13th from apple.com
I'm in NY and shipped from China.. Cant get much further away than that in the US.. Eastern Long Island to be exact..
Ugh, say it isn't so. Maybe they shipped you mine by mistake cause I ordered the same, but on the 15th in the AM and no tracking number yet.
So if guess if this thing doesn't ship by tonight or tomorrow AM latest, than it will be pretty unlikely to get here....Unless there really are stockpiles in the US already just sitting there.
