ATT Premier Order Update

Update for Premier folks:

I just chatted with an ATT Premier rep and my order is shipping the 18th. Below is the transcript.

Info about my order: placed on the 10th as a new customer -switched from Tmo - status still says back ordered on ATT site, says 'expect to start processing soon' on ATT Premier site.

Me: I know you guys are probably being inundated with iPhone questions. But I can't seem to find out when Premier orders will be delivered to customers

Temilko M: I'd be more than happy to assist you with this. You stated that your order is on backorder?

Me: Yes, according to 'https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status_results.jsp'

Me: i checked the status of my port (from T-Mobile) and it has gone through

Temilko M: I do apologize for the inconvenience. To better assist with the details on your order you will have to contact Order Management Center 1-866-499-8008 option 3 and then 2. This department will be able to assist you.

Me: Yes when I do that it says "we are having technical difficulties please try back later." I tried about 10 times throughout the day

Temilko M: I will see if I can find out anything. I do apologize again.

Me: I would appreciate that

Temilko M: The order will be shipped out on 06/18/09

Me: That is great news. Is this the case for all orders placed through Premier?

Temilko M: No, it is different shipment times going according to when the order was placed.

Me: Ok, so it's going out the 18th, for delivery on the 19th? I realize you can't make guarantees, but is the order being shipped overnight as it says on the normal ATT web site? Thanks

Temilko M: I do apologize, I can not guarantee that. The Premier site and the AT&T regular site is different.

Me: I understand. Are you able to tell me the type of shipping service? (Overnight, 2-day, Ground, etc.)

Temilko M: Federal express is the shipping carrier.

Temilko M: I do apologize but I am unable to see what type of service it is. You can contact Orders Management Center to assist with this issue. I apologize again.

Me: That's quite alright. You've been a big help and I appreciate you looking into all this for me.

Temilko M: Thank you for using AT&T Premier Support. We appreciate your business.

No, did you both order the same color / storage size and were you both ording the same type of AT&T service?

For example; both ordered the iPhone 3G S 32 GB (Black) as a existing AT&T line upgrade and you both used a Credit Card for payment. That is the only way to compare. Different types of orders require different amounts of processings before shipment.

Update!

UPS has changed and once again it is coming on the 17th!!!

This for those on the East Coast not seeing anything shipped yet:

I'm on the East Coast and having mine shipped into Alexandria, VA and it's sitting in Louisville, KY right now. I ordered my 32 3GS from Apple.

I did the same thing an hour ago...and I also called premier and they both gave different answers: The guy I had a chat with told me that my Iphone will be shipped tomorrow with next day delivery and the indian guy on the phone told me that it is impossible that ATT ships the 3GS before the release date and that the shipping will start on June 19th ..WTFF !!!!! get you S*** together ATT !!

Your shipping will not change based on it arriving in AK. There will be a scan in AK and then another scan when it arrives in the UPS Worldport Hub in KY.

So what ever your UPS tracking detail indicates is what you get. So if it says "Service: Express" then you can expect delivery at 10:30 AM or Noon.

My June 9th Apple-preordered 32gb white iPhone that landed in Kentucky early this morning used to have the 3 exception messages like everyone else, and the delivery date had disappeared. Now. my tracking info no longer shows the exception messages and my 6/18/09 delivery date has been restored

I am in Tampa and got my tracking number this morning. I ordered on the 9th. It doesn't show expected delivery but my email from apple said it would arrive by the 23rd! Does anyone else's say that?:confused:

CSR: if it says delivers by june 19, then yes. the prepared to ship status on your order status means it's boxed up and ready to go. status should change sometime between now and tomorrow
me: so i will get it june 19th?
CSR: yes

...she avoided the location of shipment haha..but from recent posts i've read..i think we're all going to be set on june 19th.

Thanks for sharing this! Makes me feel better. My guess is they are boxed and ready to ship (as she said) but they are being held to avoid any early arrivals, or UPS holds, like the first batch that went out.

It does appear that the entire group of people that selected overnight are in the same boat. By the time I ordered on the 10th the option was gone to select the shipping method.
 
The holds have been removed from my UPS tracking.. I am back on for the 18th. Will they just make up their minds!!! Is it coming early or not! Good lord.
 
My phone is back in Alaska according the the tracking info (although it has been unreliable at best). Lost the Louisville arrival about an hour ago.
