YAY!

Mine has gone from back-ordered to not!. 1 ordered, 0 shipped, 0 back-ordered.

(ordered on the 9th, through AT&T online)
 
I got this this morning from Apple:

i don't think it's going to be easier in stores. my roommate works at an apple retail store here in northern virginia area and he came home last night and said they have 800 pre-orders ready for friday's launch. last year he said they had 300 and it took until 3am to activate/distribute to everyone..imagine 800..and that's just ONE store in northern virginia..i can't even fathom the rest of the country or state..

That's the difference though. Last year, they wouldn't let us leave the store until we activated/signed contract with AT&T. With the preorders, that was all taken care of online before the fact. With a preorder, you will be able to walk in the store, show them whatever documentation you've been provided, and walk out with a sealed box. Well, that's my guess anyway. :)

Heh. I always forget about Fair Oaks. If Fair Oak has 800 pre-orders Tysons must have at least double that. I'd hate to be a mall cop tomorrow. Or any day really, but especially tomorrow.

Activation - I hope Apple's beefed up it's servers, indeed. I remember when the servers went down w/ the original iPhone. Not pleasant.
 
Ordered from Apple June 10, shipped from TN today via FedEx, delivers on 19th by 4:30.

I'm ecstatic :D

you and i had been talking back and forth i think..yesterday? and seeing that you're getting shipped out, i'm sure my status will change soon..i wonder how they determined which batch gets the already-in-U.S. iPhones and which batch gets the china iPhones. which one did you get? i got 16gb white..seems to me white has less demand so maybe that's why it's shipping from U.S.? idk.

hahaha yeah..my roommate and i want to go to the mall tomorrow morning before work to see what it's like..sucks for him though. he has to go to work there after he gets off his regular 9-5.

I'm guessing that those that ordered on the 8th and 9th are receiving shipments from a stock that had already been shipped to the US. Those that ordered a bit later are receiving units that have been more recently manufactured. So the later orders are being filled just it time from China, while the earlier orders have been all along scheduled to ship from the quantity already in the US.

I'm hoping your right. Its about 8:30am EDT where I am and I still have the prepared for shipment on the apple page. My shipping date was the 19th and delivery date of the 22, but that's how it always was for me. I never got the email about the site error. The only one I got was the order confirmation. If I don't have anything by noon I plan on wasting a few hours by calling Apple.

That happened to me so I re-ordered immediately. Now got my June 8th "Prepared for shipment". I hope it ships!

I ordered a 32GB White, and I think it's been in the US for a little bit, since it's shipping out of Tennessee.

My friend was trying to get me to do a pre-order and pick it up in Tyson's. There is no way I'd do a pre-order pick-up in store in Northern Va. There are just too many people and way too much stress. So, I told him just to get it delivered to your front door and don't worry about stressing out and taking off of work.
 
Finally have a tracking number. Scheduled for delivery to the AT&T store today, heck yeah. Now if AT&T sells my phone I'm going to be pissed.
 
I ordered from an AT&T store to avoid the lines and hype...here is my latest up date..
06/18/2009 5:15 A.M. OUT FOR DELIVERY

That means its on the way to the store....too bad they will not let me pick up today or will they.
 
WOOT! Mine has finally moved from "prepared for shipment" I now have a Fedex tracking #. I can't track yet, but will be able to soon. My iPhone is a white 32GB shipping to LA. I assume it is moving from a local hub. But in my email from Apple it says shipment date June 18th, Delivers by June 22nd. The June 22nd better be a mistake. I will wait until I can actually track my iPhone and see what delivery date Fedex has before I whine or call :)

the reston one is supposed to be the nicest..apparently it's going to be all glass front and 2 levels. this is what i'm hearing from my roommate who works at apple in fair oaks. tysons apple needs a renovation imo..but i always go to that one b/c it's 5 minutes from my house
 
no longer in the dark

I was checking back and forth between MR and apple's site for my order status in a matter of about 10 minutes my order went from prepared for shipment to shipped. Just now while typing this i got an email from apple that says delivery on the 22nd are you guys getting that to but then another email reassuring you will receive on friday?

I have no tracking info on fedex yet so i have no idea where it's coming from


As you guys can see i ordered late on the 15th around 3am central time

Still no farking tracking number. I seriously hope they dont screw me over! :mad:
Anyone else order from AT&T online and not have a tracking number yet?
