For Fed ex..yes.

But on the apple order page they give you the opportunity to print out a sheet that you can put on your door with your signature and all the relevant information.

Its up to you if you want to do it.

I may do it just because if I don't hear the doorbell..I don't want to lose out on getting my phone.

I think the items shipped already..its just a matter of someone at Apple updating the various accounts and sending out the emails.

For example..I got my notice at 10:30 est..but my package shipped at 8:30 est.

For you guys that got this email, how long after UPS delivery did this email get sent?
 
Does anyone know the timeframe in which a package needs to be shipped in order to make a Next Day Delivery? I want to know at what point should I be getting nervous.

I'm especially worried cause I called Apple a couple days after ordering to switch the color. I have a feeling that might somehow gum up the works.

Philly here, too. My Apple on-line status has been "prepared..." for 5 days with no seeming activity at all with "delivers by June 19." Called Apple CS and they told me my order is still on track for delivery tomorrow and it is originating in TN and is shipping via FedEx. The CSR was apologetic for their lack of communication, but assured that the status will update sometime today and WILL deliver tomorrow.
 
Premier Order

I ordered (ATT Premier) a 16GB Black 3GS on the 12th and finally got a UPS tracking number just barely. Was getting in progress and back-ordered until today.

I told my dogs to be on extra alert tomorrow I won't leave the house till I get it. then I will probably play with the new toy. hopefully Itunes will be going smooth tomorrow so I get all synced up.
 
Finally got my tracking # from Apple. Says delivery date is June 19th. No movement yet though so it's probably sitting on a dock somewhere waiting to start it's journey to Georgia.
 
Been prepared to ship for a week, shipped this morning... Upgraded to overnight for free, wherever it's coming from with an estimated delivery for the 19th by 3pm.

Not sure if this helps, but if I order something at Amazon.com within the next 7 hours and 52 minutes, I can get it tomorrow with overnight shipping.
 
I thought the World Express had the ability to get from Hong Kong to your doorstep in less than 24 hours barring any customs issues? I wouldn't freak out yet.
