Little UPS/FED info for So Cal

Most know this, but just to through it out there. I'm an Air Traffic Controller at LA Center. The majority of UPS and FED flights are at night. There are three or four UPS flights that arrive sometime around 5 and are either landing ONT or LAX. On the mid shifts just about the only traffic in the skys anymore after 2 am is box haulers. So threre's still hope if your phone, like mine, is sitting in KY. Most FED come out of Memphis.
 
This has to be wrong. My phone can't STILL be in Alaska. It's been there almost 24 hours now.

I am excited! It shipped out today standard overnight. I was quite impressed when I saw that. I really shouldn't be this excited over a small upgrade from my Iphone 3g, but I am for some reason. :D

I just can't get over it. I can't wait till tomorrow. :)

Its quite alright. It a very common feeling when anticipating a life changing event like this. It is a very difficult time for all of us... the anticipation, the unknown. I have faith in Apple and (albeit less) in UPS that we will get our phones on time.

I'm in the same boat with no tracking number (order from AT&T online to my house on the 10th), but finally about 30 minutes ago, the site shows a ship date of today and Fedex as the carrier. Still no tracking #...
 
KY to NYC Area

Hey all, I haven't seen anyone post information about shipments (flight information) heading to the NYC area. Anyway, I looked up the next flight to the NYC area for those interested in a possible departure time for their phone from KY.

Flight UPS2112 is headed for JFK Int'l Aiport, leaving KY at 4:32 pm and scheduled to arrive at JFK at 6:31 pm.

I read in a different forum that someone who had ordered their phone on keynote day was told that they would receive theirs on the 22nd (despite receiving an email from apple stating that the 22nd date was incorrect and that he should be receiving the phone on the 19th with the majority of America). The purchaser gleaned this information after calling Apple and asking them what the deal was. He was told that due to overwhelming shipment volume, or something to that effect, the shipment in which his phone was located would be delayed. Just some food for thought.

I'm pretty sure someone a while back said that they called UPS and the phones had already left AK, the tracking info just hadn't updated yet. I could be wrong though.

and my phone arrived in Hong Kong 28 hours ago. That cant be right either.

starting to think mine is on UPS63 landing in alaska in 46 minutes

They aren't scanning everything. They can't be. Mine took 12 hours to get from Shenzhen to Hong Kong. Its like a 30 minute flight.

Now its been in Hong Kong for over 14 hours. No way is that right.

I bet we all see updates of "out for delivery" when we wake up tomorrow.
 
Looks like FedEx isn't doing the whole 10:30 shipping thing.

I ordered on Apple.com, but I've seen people buy on the 16th and 17th and have had theirs shipped already. WTH? :(
 
I just relized

we are a bunch of Iphone stalkers checking tracking, flights this thread that I both hate and love at the same time cause it makes me feel like I not the only weirdo out there. the UPS guy was just here and almost lost his life as I thought for one minute the phone was here early. Nope just some t-shirts I bought my daughter. Also tells me I am about 24 hours from getting my phone which means both :D and :( at the same time!

the tracking number link on the status page doesnt work, probably hasnt been scanned yet. im on an account with a friend so he'll get the emails. no delivery date either. ill post if any of this changes.

Mine's "stuck" in AK too, but I followed its flight to KY yesterday (no way it was offloaded in AK). Then, one of the flights to ONT this morning. I figured it should have been logged in at least KY, but ONT, but no status change. I did get the Apple email saying it'd be here tomorrow though.

Still fun tracking though!
 
I doubt that I will be able to fall asleep tonight.. I think I'm heading to my AT&T store at about 6 just to make sure that no one else is in line.. I have a bet with a family member going over how many people will be in line at the store tomorrow..mainly because it's in an area filled with technonoobs. I may or may not be counting the seconds until 7 am... I NEED my 3G S!

Personally, mine stopped tracking when they put on the exception. I think that is just to block the scheduled delivery date. I bet it is lifted at midnight tonight and will show the actual progress.*

* I know not what I talk about however
