So, if they ship 10 in a box to Apple & ATT stores this time is each tracking number basically the box? So there are 9 other people out there with the tracking number I have from ATT?

Just curious about the logistics. According to UPS mine is in the store and I've got the guy's name who signed for it. God help him if it isn't there ;)

Mine is in Memphis, TN. I order EVERYTHING online (I hate shopping or dealing with sales people. I even bought my car online!) and I've never had anything go through Memphis!

Does anyone have a rough estimate of shipping from Memphis to Milwaukee?

I assume it'll get stuck in the Chicagoland hub and then again at the Oak Creek, WI hub...

ATT online order here on 6/11, just checked and it says shipped today with FDE, but the phone is no longer on the order status page. It only says a "various sim" was shipped today. What's the deal?

7:00am Pick Up in ATT Store

Local ATT Store just called, I was told I could be there at 7:00am with my photo ID to pick up my iPhone. Phew... what a week.

Which reminds me...does my phone come with a sim card? I'm a New ATT customers and ordered from Apple. Hopefully everything is locked loaded and ready to go.

Oh and your question.I don't know.

I got my FedEx tracking info today. Says it was picked up in Memphis, TN. I wonder if it has been sitting at the FedEx World Headquarters, as that is in Memphis and about 15 minutes from my house.

Ordered the same day it was announced, standard shipping, shows it will be here tomorrow by 3 p.m. 16 GB black.

if you look at this vid, they take apart the box and scan each iphone box and re seal them in another box

Timing

It's understood with everyone I hope that the times reported by UPS from China are local times to their respective scan points.

Which puts it squarely about 12hrs ahead for us on the East Coast. Meaning most of them left at 1am (EST) this morning, giving them far more than 24hrs to reach Loiusville, 6hrs to reach any regional distribution facility, 2hrs to reach local hubs.. and thats just to 8am on the east coast.

I've yet to see where the panic lies. My brother is flying from tokyo on sunday which is 13hrs ahead, and he will arrive 1hr earlier than he left, and thats a person, not a package.

I guess all of us whose phones are on the plane that landed in Alaska yesterday the 17th at 1:50 are boned... phones are still there 24 hours later they have not moved.

Really, they have 24 hours to ship in a company with the biggest supply chain in the world, and you are giving up?

If it's your brother it is both.

My local AT&T store just called informing me they received my iPhone.

HOWEVER, they also notified me that I was NOT allowed to come in until I received a phone call from them notifying me it was okay to come in. Apparently, and I'm not sure if this is just that particular AT&T branch or nationwide, but the 7am line is for new customers/recent iPhone 3G purchasers who wanted to switch to the 3GS or something like that.

Frankly, I didn't have the patience to argue, and I didn't plan to be there at 7am anyways, but has anyone else received these calls? They're telling me I should receive a call around noon and should be able to come in then.

That's a long time to have a plane sit. I understand the concern. I've never had any issues with UPS, besides them throwing my stuff around like a dinosaur. I just worry that Apple, not UPS, waited too long to get the shipment out and now the customer gets screwed.

I still wonder how the distribution works. I ordered on the 10th and people who ordered 3 days ago have phones sitting locally.

Got my tracking number from Apple today, great right??? No not really, FedEx is stating that the phone was not picked up for and the only info the tracking number gives is saying shipping info received... Has anyone else had this problem and is it still possible that my phone can get from Tennessee to NJ for tomorrow? I say Tennessee because my other order was shipped from Tennessee.

Sounds like some line management and it is on a store by store basis. Where in Massachusetts is your store?

That's no an issue for an "overnight" flight. Thats only a few hours. I know newegg ships from Tenn to New Orleans in one day, and that's ground via UPS. I wouldn't worry.

I have to wait for it to go from Alaska to most likely Tennessee, then to New Orleans. At this point, I'm not expecting a new phone on time.

I'm in your boat now. Waiting for mine to make it up to Green Bay. It usually does go through oak creek, than out for delivery. I do hope ups updates some information soon because this anticipation is killing me!! lol

In the same boat. Still don't know where the origin scan will be. For me, it's shipping to Indianapolis.
