You guys are worrying too much.
AT&T has pretty much already assured that people who ordered early enough would have theres on 7am Friday morning hence why they are opening 2 hours early for people to pick up preorders while normal customers wait until 9am.
This was stated on their official YouTube and on the FAQ on the ATT Wireless site.

No that is when it says billing information received. Many times I have ordered packages through UPS and it wont say departure scan then like 3 or 4 scans later they will all show up with the correct times. I dunno why it does this but I've seen it happen 100 times.
EVERY time I have tracked a shipment through UPS (quite frequently, all I use is UPS) the date I get the package is always the date on the scheduled delivery... so don't go saying there is 'nowhere near enough info' on it, there is.
Not all of us are saying we'll get it early, just that UPS is telling us we will... that doesn't account for the possibility of them holding it until Friday.
Hey, if they want to risk taking my iPhone and being shot over it... be my guest.

On the shipment notification date I got from Apple it says "Delivers by:
Jun 22, 2009" but on the UPS tracking number page it says "Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 06/17/2009. "
I hope I can get it early! I'm assuming the Apple email is bugged like before since it was guaranteed by the 19th.

GRRRRRRRR I placed two different 3gs orders on the 9th and it still says orders have not shipped yet... Called up Apple yesterday and the rep stated that your order should be delivered by Friday. I would really really like to think so, but I don't see how my order will get from China to NJ in three days by the way did anyone see the hangover funniest movie Ive seen in years.

actuality looks good from UPS and it says I will have it tomorrow we will see, still not expecting it till Friday. though I will jig if I get it sooner ok I will jig any way. and they haven't charged my bank yet either they redeposited my money they took when I bought it. held it then just released the money but haven't taken it. how nice Apple trust me!

Mine was ordered 6/10 at 10AM pacific time from Apple and still says "not yet processed."
Awesome how people who ordered the 13th have shipping numbers and are tracking already.

I'm not too worried, but I am somewhat fascinated with how Apple is handling the shipping on these. Especially if people receive them tomorrow and mine still hasn't even prepared to ship.
I love how people (not just you) say something like, "I'm not worried, just curious!"
BS! You are frantically checking the Order Status page just like the rest of us "Not Yet Shipped" people. I'm going to be pissed if I spent hours trying to get my preorder through on Monday night only to get my iPhone days after people who ordered it 6 days later.
