[Merged] The Official iPhone 3GS "I Have a Tracking Number" Thread!

I expect to get my phones on Friday. They are currently shipped, but not yet picked up (?) scheduled for Wednesday delivery, but I've been here before. I'm pretty sure I should put money on Friday delivery.
 
My iPhone 3GS is going to arrive tomorrow!

According to UPS my iPhone 3GS is going to arrive tomorrow (June 17th).
I have a feeling that Apple gave UPS instructions to hold the iPhone 3GS at a local UPS warehouse. So my iPhone will get to my local UPS warehouse tomorrow but they wont actually give it to me until friday. If I get lucky and do get it tomorrow I'll post picks so everyone on the forums can see.
Also one question will I be able to activate the iPhone 3GS before friday or are iTunes/AT&T servers not letting them be activated?
 
Well mine is at the 17th now, too.

I'm highly doubting I'll get it tomorrow (as it's technically the 16th) so I'm just gonna wait for all this to get fixed and check up on it tomorrow.
 
On the topic of oscillating delivery dates, I've seen 3 so far:

17th -> 18th -> "Rescheduled" 16th, all in about an hours time.

I'm curious as to how UPS's system works, and what are the logistics that go into delivery what I presume are tens of thousands of phones from China to Anywhere, U.S. in a matter of a few days.
 
There is nowhere near enough tracking info on any of those screen-shots to suggest an early delivery.

These are the things that still needs to happen:

"Departure Scan" - Leaves UPS Hub - China / Boards Flight
"Arrival Scan" - Arrives UPS Airport Hub (local to your delivery)

"Unload Scan" - Automatically released through to sorting
-or-
"Customs Scan" - Released to customs processing

If the airport hub has a delivery office, it'll then move next to

"Out for Delivery" - Expect it that day

Otherwise it'll do another round of...

"Departure Scan" - Leaves Airport Hub on-route to local Delivery Hub
"Arrival Scan" - Arrives at local Delivery Hub

and then you'll get your Out for Delivery...


Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, the delivery date is jumping as it hasn't actually left yet and until it does - it won't have a "firm" delivery date.

UPS have the item, and are presumably being told to hold off processing the delivery - as once it's in the system it'll be delivered "when UPS want" not "when Apple want".

Now you can all go to sleep... :)

I'm ready to go....Speck candy shell cases on their way, power support crystal films already here, and maybe I'll have an Invisible Shield installed again for extra protection. Anyway, mine says scheduled for delivery on the 18th but I doubt they'll come early because if UPS is reliable, then they'll follow through with their clients(Apple) plan of a June 19th release. But of course, I'd love UPS to deliver it as soon as possible...
 
My order status on apple.com still says not yet shipped and has said that since i put the order in on the 10th. Depressing watching people get tracking numbers and nothing has changed for me. I better get it on Friday because i will be a tad upset if i don't.
 
I gotta admit it's frustrating reading all of these shipment stories when my white 32gb ordered on June 9th AT&T and I'm still listed as processing. I feel so left out.

I put mine in on the 8th. Same situation.
Not sure how this works out. Apparently my money doesn't go as far as the next guys. Like I said previously. If it still shows no signs of movement by mid-day tomorrow I'm canceling the order and saving my money.

I love it! Apple promised you delivery by the 19th and you are planning on canceling tomorrow, the 16th or 17th depending on where you are (either way is an overreaction.) Way to go champ!

All the latest posts with real tracking info have been from Apple orders. Has anyone who ordered a phone shipped to an AT&T store seen their tracking number show up on the UPS site at all yet? Mine has been marked as shipped with a number for hours now.

I will probably wake up with a status of waiting for customs clearance in Alaska tomrorrow. :D
 
hey people who ordered at an ATT store.

do your tracking numbers work? mine says shipped, but when i click the order number it just takes me to the ups main site, and when i copy and paste the code it says ">>> UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later. "

?

The lady at the AT&T store took my credit card, but said it would not actually be charged until the phone is shipped.

I have the same "shipped" status, and a traking number (which doesn't actually show anything) from AT&T, but it seems to me the key is that my credit card has not been charged yet.
 
I am not really concerned about whether mine will come early, I just wish I would get tracking info so I can know if it will likely be here by Friday or not since I am going out of town this weekend and having the iPhone would keep me entertained.

I ordered from AT&T on Wednesday but it didn't show up in my order status until Friday and says that I ordered on Friday since it apparently goes by when it was entered in the order status. So if they are shipping to earlier orders first, with later orders being SOL, I wonder if they'd count me as a Wednesday order or a Friday order right around the time they changed the estimated delivery time on preorders.

Oh well, all the refreshing in the world won't help, so I guess I'll just get some sleep and hope I wake up to good news ;)

i used my debit card and it was charged completely day 1.

i also called the automated line, says its shipped.

man, I don't know if posting all these tracking numbers on the internet is such a good idea, you know? I mean hell, even the kids(Stan,Kyle, and Cartmen) in South Park know how to background check or hunt someone down using the internet haha. So...it isnt safe, if someone where to try hard to find you.

You should at least wait until after Friday or even Monday to cancel...in case your order did actually go through and you just never got updated, for whatever reason. There are hiccups in a network as vast as the internet...so just wait

I'm in the same situation.. but I think its because its being shipped as 'Freight' directly to the stores as opposed to individual shipments.

So its being shipped in individual boxes with our names but on 1 large pallet or in 1 large container with the others. I have a feeling I have the same 'tracking' as many other people. UPS does do Freight Deliveries as well.

Not necessarily true, UPS doesn't update in real-time. Mine says origin scan was 3:19am on 6/16/09 which is local time. Since that was over 12 hours ago, it's likely on a plane to my closest hub by now - gives them a full day to get it to my house from an airport that's an hour away. Question is will Apple have any say/allow it to happen. With software release set for Wednesday, I don't see why it's not possible.
