Looking at the tracking information, it doesn't make sense. I don't think that anyone's shipment has had a 'departure scan' yet. That usually means that the package is still sitting at the building and the label has only been printed...

Just checked mine and I now have a "departure scan" on my order.

So my 32GB black ordered on 6/11 is shipped with an "estimated" delivery date of tomorrow (I highly doubt that coming from China). My 16GB white ordered on 6/6 is still "Not Yet Shipped."

If its shipped with an estimated delivery date of tomorrow then why not just track it to see where it came from? UPS will show where it was picked up.

Why? It's coming from China, not Mars. It can easily get to you by tomorrow if its not held up in customs or weather.. The question is does Apple want it to get to you by tomorrow?

Pre-sign for order

Hey everyone, will anyone be pre-signing for their order? I figured I would, but wanted to see who here would not in a world of package interception/mail fraud.

Got my tracking #, and although the UPS website says I'll receive my phone on the 17th, I'm sticking to Apple's original statement sent shortly after placing my order - that it will arrive on the 19th. I've never received anything early from anyone, and I believe there to be little possibility of receiving the phone prior to official launch. By the way, this is the rationalization I've developed just in case it doesn't come early

What do you think the chances of receiving the iPhone early are? Is it likely? Because I also received tracking information yesterday that said I would receive the phone on the 17th! woo! keeping my fingers crossed. I am trying to load some screenshots of my order status, not sure if it is working though.

I wouldn't worry

I'm not too worried, but I am somewhat fascinated with how Apple is handling the shipping on these. Especially if people receive them tomorrow and mine still hasn't even prepared to ship.

till they or I get them who knows what can happen. I will not be surprised if they all get held till Friday. even if mine says out for delivery tomorrow won't mean anything till I get it. UPS I am usually one of his last stops. Heck I don't even think my UPS guy likes me. or he just loves to torture me. I was hoping it was going to be Fedex since they usually deliver earlier. but till I get it all I can do is Wait. Oh I'm using a Nokia 6555 if that makes you feel better.

I ordered my phone on June 8th and just received my tracking number. It says estimated delivery is June 22. My friend who lives 10 miles away and ordered on June 10th got a tracking number yesterday and says a delivery of June 19.

It would be nice to receive them by tomorrow. Mine still says that it has yet to ship but the shipping method was updated to priority. I believe this is probably Fed-ex overnight priority. So, if mine is updated today stating that it has shipped it will be shipped with overnight priority.

Ordered mine from apple on the 10th, and it STILL says not yet shipped. I'm getting a little worried, but it does still say delivers by 6/19.

I put mine in on the 8th. Same situation.
Not sure how this works out. Apparently my money doesn't go as far as the next guys. Like I said previously. If it still shows no signs of movement by mid-day tomorrow I'm canceling the order and saving my money.

Same here... ordered on the 9th and Apple even charged my credit card on Friday but order still 'Not yet shipped'... argh!

I would think that the "launch date" for the phone would be a strict date - whether launching occurs at a person's home, or at the apple/att store. Those who have received iphones in the mail before, though, are the only ones who could speak to the possibility that early receipt of the 3gs will be occur. Are there instances where current iphone owners received their phone in the mail prior to its release date? I hope so, but don't want to get my own hopes up.

BINGO! Never pre-sign for a package that requires signature b/c then you absolve UPS and Apple's burden to prove delivery.

If you won't be available to sign track your package online and look for a "delivery attempted" entry. When you see that you can call UPS and request to pick up your Phone at the UPS depot that evening. They close at 8pm in most areas.

My tracking was updated this AM. Shows a UPS tracking number and I'm picking up in the store Friday. Glad to see my phone will be on time!

Has anyone else who has had theirs shipped not received a charge for the device yet? I got the authorization charges when I ordered on the 8th, but the $530 something does not appear to have been charged to my card yet.

Just check my status of my 32Gb 3GS black, ordered 6/12
The status was changed to "Prepared for shipment" on Sunday.
And this morning, I checked again, it's changed to "Not yet shipped."

WTF???

I suspect the plane carrying it is coming out of Taipai to the Alaska hub (based on other shipments from China for other Apple products). Flight information here:

Most of the time it goes to the Kentucky hub after this, but sometimes (very rarely in my experience) it will go directly from Alaska to your local airport if you live on the west coast (or in Hawaii).

Yeah, I noticed that yesterday on my order as well. The shipping on the order confirmation page was changed to "Priority" from Standard. Granted, the status still says "not shipped"

I am having mine delivered to Camp Hill, PA. Not sure where that is according to your location.

I checked this morning, email saying it was shipped, Delivery date for the 17th.

Thing is, I have a feeling we won't be seeing these till friday. I imagine that the scheduled delivery is for tomorrow, but to the closest Apple warehouse. I still haven't been charged for it at all, I imagine once it hits Apple, they will then ship it from there, and charge me as well.
