FedEx or UPS? Hmmm.

Have been reading through some threads and thinking about this. When the first shipping notices started coming out, a lot of people yelled FAKE! as it was showing UPS shipping and everyone knows that :apple: always uses FedEx. So, and this is 100% speculation, what if the folks who aren't seeing much activity on order status and/or shipping are getting FedEx and in the wake of shipping stuff early last year, they are being extra secretive for Apple this time around. Really only thing that makes sense, at least to me  and UPS being "new" to the RDF has been updating normally???

Interesting thought.. I ordered on the 9th through Apple's website.. they put the credit hold through on Friday on my account... my status is still 'Not yet shipped' and when I called Apple moments ago to check to see if anything was wrong (given all these 'I got my shipping notice' statements..) and was given the full green light that I would have it by Friday and that it would be coming FedEx. I asked if UPS was involved, and the rep said yes, but seemed to suggest mine was in queue for FedEx shipment. Hmmm...

I ordered mine on the 8th from apple directly after the keynote and live in jersey. I have a scheduled delivery of 6/17 and it is listed as express. Still no departure scan.

I wonder how they figure out who gets FedEx and who gets UPS.

Mine went to "Prepared for Shipment" Sunday evening and that's still what it says now. My order was placed immediately after the Keynote (12:18 PM PDT) on June 8th. I'm sure I'll get it Friday but it makes me nervous seeing all these people getting tracking numbers who ordered after I did.
Me too, i called ATT yesterday and they said I should have it on Friday. But I'm still nervous none the less bc I'm selling my 3G this friday to a friend and hope i have the 3GS before that, else I'm stuck with a dumb phone till monday :-\ If it comes on Friday...I'm so driving home a lunch from work to pick it up.

Not yet shipped

I ordered from Apple on June 9 at 7AM PST. Still says "Not shipped". What's going on?

I am still part of the ATT "In Progress" group as of this morning.

Ordered a 32GB Black 3GS on the 11th at like 1:30am.

:(

I have all types of conflicting information coming my way.

Just received the "shipped" email from Apple this morning, says my 32GB S was shipped out today - with an estimated delivery for June 22nd.

The UPS page says a scheduled delivery for 6/17 -

I received the same and the priority shipping charge of $10 is still on my account. I just got off the phone with Apple and after apologizing they told me that the shipping charge will be refunded 5 business days after it was shipped.

I'm happy I'll be getting it on 9/19 instead of 9/22.

Why the "Hmmm..."? There is no way UPS or FedEx going solo could handle ALL the iPhones Apple needs to transport for Friday delivery and their non-Apple cargo shipments as well. Each carrier only has so many airplane slots at the airport. So this is really no shocker and really shows the huge demand for the iPhone 3GS. (I think a lot of people thought the 3GS could beat the 3G in sales but I think it will easily).

Tracking Number!

I'll update my tracking number when I am sitting in line on Fri at the Apple Store. :)

Thus why some people have scheduled delivery dates of Wednesday and some people's haven't been shipped at all. They're spreading out the deliveries.

What's going on is that its Tuesday and your iPhone isn't due until Friday. Just chill. :) In all my years ordering Apple gear I've never seen them ship sequentially by order time. I don't know what their logistic formula is, it seems random, but I'm sure there is some reason to the madness. At any rate its unpredictable to us common folk.

I ordered my black 32GB from ATT online on 06/11. Yesterday I received an email that said my order needed attention, and I was directed to check the status of my LNP request.

The ATT LNP site said it was "confirmed", and I even did an online chat with a rep who also said it was confirmed.

That said, my status is still "In Progress" and my CC has yet to be charged.
man I ordered in the same day..and still no confirmation email yet :(

Only that he seemed to speak quickly and with certainty right away that my order was in queue for FedEx shipment and delivery.... I would have liked to see a quick peak at his order status screen... :)

why you think that?

Because they seem to be exclusively using UPS for these shipments, and they're probably trying to spread out the shipments to take the pressure off UPS. They don't really care if some get delivered before June 19th since OS 3.0 is coming out tomorrow anyways. That's why they wrote "Delivery BY June 19th." I think you're just being a little nonsensical about the whole ordeal.

The delivery date is just an estimate. I wouldn't hold my breath if you're sitting at origin scan. Once it starts moving, then that date might actually mean something.

i just checked mine

i ordered in an ATT store on the 12th around 11am

yesterday it said in progress with tracking #

now today it says insted of in progress / SHIPPED and quanity shiped 1

but tracking # still doesnt work

I checked my order status and the iphone is not even listed in my order. There is only an accessory (case) listed in the order. Called ATT and they don't know what to tell me but I did find out that they are backordered for 6500 iphones. This could be just the model I ordered (32GB Black). Not sure if I will get mine friday or not. I ordered mine on June 9th and they did say that my SIM card and SIM card removal tool had been packaged. I will take that as a good sign.
