Here is the deal.

Here is Apple's plan.

They want as many people to be as happy as possible and at the same time they want to create a buzz on the 19th.

They knew if they tried to ship everyone's iphone to get an exact ship date of the 19th, many people would get it the following week for various reasons, either UPS/FedEx fault, regional differences, no one home...etc.

Friday is still a great public release day for various reasons, despite being close to the "won't ship until Monday" cutoff.

The best thing they could do would be to get the early preordering people's phones by the 17th with a two day cushion. This way ensuring as many happy preordering customers as possible.

This is why they are also releasing 3.0 update on the 17th because this begins the "three day safety window".

They are not going to just hold our iphones in our local UPS/FedEx facilities. They will be sending them out between the 17th-19th to make sure the preorders do not get held up until the following week.:)

I wonder who will get the iPhones first?? iPhones delivered at home possibly a day early, or people in line at 7am?

also, to activate the iphone if we ordered online, are we going to have to go to an att store? an att rep told me yes, but when i trust the opposite of whatever they say, it seems to be more accurate then believing what they say to be true. anyone know?

i guess that makes since... i guess time will tell!

What's going on is that its Tuesday and your iPhone isn't due until Friday. Just chill. :) In all my years ordering Apple gear I've never seen them ship sequentially by order time. I don't know what their logistic formula is, it seems random, but I'm sure there is some reason to the madness. At any rate its unpredictable to us common folk.

Going in the refrigerator to chill myself. :)

I feel much better after reading this.

Well I just woke up this morning and checked tracking. Both of our phones (mine and my wife's) say "Scheduled Delivery By: July 18". I know it may change, but the possibility is great news for us. We are leaving on a one week vacation early Friday morning, so we either get them Thursday or they sit at my office for a week until we get back.

As for Package Progress, all I have now besides the origin scan is "billing info received". Maybe they are on a plane now but status has not yet been updated. Who knows.

Woot,
Iphone 3GS ordered the 11th going to CT has shipped, I like how UPS says...

yeah i just checked my grandfathers account and his says the same thing also

Because they seem to be exclusively using UPS for these shipments, and they're probably trying to spread out the shipments to take the pressure off UPS. They don't really care if some get delivered before June 19th since OS 3.0 is coming out tomorrow anyways. That's why they wrote "Delivery BY June 19th." I think you're just being a little nonsensical about the whole ordeal.

We know they are not using UPS exclusively b/c people that have called Apple have been told their phone is going FedEx. It looks like the FedEx shipments have not shipped yet, thats all. Also, we do not know if Apple put a "hold" on the iPhones that have shipped. Only when they get to the destination hub will we know if early delivery will take place.

3GS delivered tomorrow!!! Awww yeeaaahh!

I ordered my 32 gb black on 6/8 at 9:45 CST through Apple. Looks like it will be delivered tomorrow. Killer.:D

I ordered my black 32GB from ATT online on 06/11. Yesterday I received an email that said my order needed attention, and I was directed to check the status of my LNP request.

The ATT LNP site said it was "confirmed", and I even did an online chat with a rep who also said it was confirmed.

That said, my status is still "In Progress" and my CC has yet to be charged.

I am in the same boat. Though I did get an email the other day stating that my iphone was on track to arrive at my place by the 19th. My order status still says in progress with no tracking number.

Talk about random order processing.

kinda aggravates me...

i ordered mine on the 8th and it still hasnt shipped!!

I was thinking that maybe no one in Connecticut has gotten their order yet, since I haven't seen anyone from CT on here say they did. I felt pretty good about it, but you just proved me wrong.

If I don't get a tracking number by Thursday then I'll be worried

the reason the iphones are not being shipped is cuz the asian children workers are SLACKING! taking pictures like this. GET TO WORK! or you will take a pay cut from 5 cents per day!

Do you have a scheduled delivery date for yours? Mine departed at 3:30pm also but on the UPS site it doesn't have a delivery date listed.

My email from Apple says delivery by the 22nd.
I ordered on like the 10th.

The UPS tracking number says Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 06/17/2009. !!!

I'm sooooo excited!!! Are UPS tracking times in local time?
It says it was in China at 1 AM, is this chinese time?

And do you work for Apple?

Yes they will. Their using Fedex and UPS, they have known for weeks or months this was coming, the carriers have added drivers / trucks to handle the load. Apple does not want activations and 3.0 happening at the same time. The phones will get to the US in your general area and then hold until Friday. A few might slip through, but it will not be many.
