I ordered a 32gb Black 3G S on June 12, and it shows delivery on 6/18. Talked to a friend of mine at ATT, said even if you get the phone the activation server wont be turned on until the 19th, hopefully he was pulling my leg.

I ordered my 16GB iPhone 3GS on the 10th from apple.com, shipped on the 15th with a tracking # and now has an estimated delivery of the 17th. Pretty Sweet!!

Has anybody that ordered from Apple.com gotten shipping confirmation with a tracking number or is that only the AT&T people??

Mine still says "prepared for shipment".
I also ordered from Apple (32GB black shortly after the keynote) and got an estimated delivery date of June 18 (UPS):

Throwing my hat into the ring along with the other eleven hundred of you...

Ordered from Apple.com mid-day June 9th, Verizon customer porting a number over to a black 32GB. Shipment Confirmation email came in last night around 10pm - from UPS quantum view:

We'll see if I get her on Thursday!

My 16GB White still hasn't been shipped out, or even "prepared" - I ordered it on Wednesday night (6/10), and it still says "Delivers by June 19th" (which I guess is a good sign).

Porting from Verizon

You can check the status of your port here: https://www.wireless.att.com/lnp/

Mine shows as "Confirmed"

Upon checking the status of the port, you may see "confirmed"; however, if you call Verizon, like I just did, Verizon will tell you that no request to port your number over from Verizon to ATT is in the system. It appears that the request to port your number over (which is shown on the Apple confirmation email) is like telling the ATT system "expect this new customer to port his/her number over, and he/she will do so through itunes connection" - or at least this is the way it seems. The last piece of advice that the Verizon rep gave me was to call ATT and cancel the port (which I tried to do already, and the ATT rep told me to simply walk in to a ATT corporate store and obtain a new SIM card with a new number programmed). The ATT rep mentioned that I would have to call Verizon to get my number ported back - which obviously brings us full circle to the beginning of my post.

Why wouldn't it?

1AM in china today is really 1pm yesterday here in the states. So that's 2 days to get here, It will be at your UPS facility on the 17th. The question is whether they will hold it until the 19th. and I'm betting not.

I'd be shocked if they delivered a product two days before it's publicly available.

Good catch

i ordered mine through apple.com on june 8th around 8pm EST =\

i just checked my credit card statement too and the hold on my card is dropped and there is no charge or anything that relates to the apple store..should i call/be worried??

I too just checked my checking account and there is no entry for the purchase through the apple store. It was definitely there moments after I made the purchase. Where did it go?

I ordered from Apple.com on the 8th, around 7:30pm.

What I'd really like to see is a running count of the Verizon customers jumping to AT&T for this phone.

Seems like there's a lot of "port talk" going on here... :D

Sorry Verizon. Your stubborn-ness surfaces to haunt you again, it seems.

I too just checked my checking account and there is no entry for the purchase through the apple store. It was definitely there moments after I made the purchase. Where did it go?

yeah, mine was up on my account for about 3 days.

my guess is this: a hold is placed on your account for about 3 days and the bank or whatever verifies the charge and if it isn't verified or if the transaction from the supplier doesn't go through, then it drops.

in this case, apple only charges your card/account when it ships..and since i ordered mine june 8th, it obviously wasn't going to ship out june 11th so that's probably why the charge got dropped. now i'm just wondering when they're going to actually charge it again.

i'll give them a call this afternoon when i get back from lunch..
