SHENZHEN,

CN 06/16/2009 1:05 A.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

AFAIR the next step is customs clearance, which usually happens in 12 hrs for Apple product...then the packages will be updated again with delivery information

Now what does AFAIR stand for?

I really hope you aren't having an affair.

Ya, why do people think Apple has so much power? They can't call up UPS and reroute planes, fabricate delays, and can't retroactively do anything after UPS sends it off without paying probably millions at this point.

And if you say that wasn't what you were saying...I don't care. I just want an iPhone.

Seriously. UPS delivers 15 MILLION packages a day. You think they care about a could hundred thousand iPhones. Probably. Are they going to go out of their way. Probably not.

Mine is in AK but i no longer have a delivery day either!

Ya I think everyone who has UPS tracking number is together, since they're doing a WorldEase shipment. And yea, everyone's delivery date is gone, too.

I really don't mind about getting mine early, it's just nice to know everything is running smoothly. It'll be interesting to see what happens from here (as in from the Alaska shipping center).

No It's really not.

I have a UPS Tracking number, and my delivery date is still 6/17.
It also didn't scan in AK yet.

I bet you the pilots nor 3/4 of the people that scanned our phones in Alaska know they are moving iPhones.

And hey it's Alaska....I don't think the have cell towers to begin with.

There are big apples on the side of the boxes. LOLOL.

Ok if there is a hold on the package there is absolutely no reason for that hold not to show up on the computer.

The "hold" may not show up. It depends on what the UPS system lets users see vs. what their own systems show. I don't work there though so I have no idea. I would be willing to bet though that there systems show a lot more detail than what we can see.

But again, I hope I am wrong and you all can burn me tomorrow. :)

What's the latest people have ordered from AT&T and gotten a tracking number? I ordered mine from them on the 11th and still don't have a tracking number on the ORder Status lookup... I'm beginning to get a little worried. :'(

I doubt they would hide something like a 2 day delay in delivery and just post a false delivery date. Plus people have called UPS and no one has been told there is a hold.

iPhone 3G S Tracking - Flight Times for UPS, and Reasons Why It May Arrive Tomorrow!

Hello!

I have researched the flight schedules for UPS, and I have put together this "chart" of sorts, to show you the possibilities for your iPhone and which flight it is on from China.

Match up your times that it says "Left Ramp / Departure Scan" (if using boxoh.com, or packagemapping.com) or "Dep. Scan" for ups.com, and that is the flight its on!

Hope this helps!

I got all data from flightaware.com , which taps into FAA filings for IFR (commercial) flight plans! I track all my shipments this way, and if the flight is delayed - I know before UPS or FedEx does! Use this to track it to your home airport or nearest UPS hub where the shipments are usually sent (The city where your packages go before they say "out for delivery", or the city just before that), by searching at flightaware.com after clicking "Don't know the flight number?" at the left, type in KSDF and then the airport code for your airport. You can find them on wikipedia, and the ones in the US always start with K (except AK and HI).

Sincerely,

John Angarano

**NOTE: THESE FLIGHTS ARE TUESDAY MORNING’S, AND WILL BE
SIMILAR TO THOSE ON WEDNESDAY MORNING. MOST UPS CUT-OFF FOR DRIVER DELIVERY IS 8-9 AM LOCAL TIME. LARGER MARKETS IS LATER, WITH LATE DELIVERY TRUCKS TO HANDLE OVERFLOW/DELAYS.

Therefore, I hope I have demonstrated that it is VERY possible that the iPhones could be delivered by that time. BUT ALSO NOTE: Apple can reserve the right to use their “World Ease” shipment methods, and hold entire crates in warehouses at Anchorage (After clearing customs there) or at Louisville (with customs being cleared there also sometimes). The UPS Site states each World Ease Shipment: Clears customs as a single unit, reducing documentation and saving time, and Provides guaranteed time-in-transit times. So, Apple can easily tell UPS to stop the shipment and wait to deliver it, and may just be clearing out their warehouses. Then, after demand has slowed, Apple will begin stockpiling a warehouse in Northern Cali where they used to add things to Mac G5s when they were custom ordered, and they now use that to hold iPhone and iPod touches for shipment across the U.S. They also use this warehouse to complete “Customer Replacements,” which are basically replacement iPhones that are still in the retail packaging, only set aside for replacements. I went through 10 replacements myself (DON’T ASK), however they sent them from this warehouse most often, and only sent one from China on a world ease shipment with a bunch of iPhones destined for retail stores. IT IS VERY POSSIBLE YOUR iPHONES COULD BE ON ONE OF THESE PLANES OVER THE PACIFIC! You can correspond the times that they shipped with the flights above, and for more accurate tracking use: boxoh.com or packagemapping.com, they provide more accurate info.

We need to just shut this site down until Friday, grab a six pack, and get laid. This is getting ridiculous. I track packages myself, but now I can track which plane its on? Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude.

im just waiting for us 8th/9th early buyers to get our tracking number tonight, saying it will ship tomorrow like the rest of ppl getting theirs the 17th...

gonna suck for a lot of ppl who need to be home to sign for it, and only get 1 day notice lol

I got mine on the 8th and have a tracking number.
I agree, I ordered on the 8th and I have a tracking number and a delivery schedule for tomorrow, June 17.

Did you mean one of the early buyers at AT&T? That is another potential problem. AT&T does not often have the data updated. I often get my Premier orders delivered and the online system has not been updated.

Dave

I ordered by 16 GB White 3G S in the evening on the 8th. Mine landed down in Anchorage at 1:48 like everyone else's. My arrival date never said the 17th, it said the 18th. As soon as it hit U.S soil that got taken down. I'm on the West Coast so that is where my iPhone is going. Quite interesting!

my deliv date is 06/18 now. SF bay area. touched down in Alaska.

i assume people's deliv date is different based on how far their hub is from Alaska and from where they live...

i assume we'll start getting them early. this is free hype for Apple. no marketing $$ spent at all.
