I highly doubt we will be seeing our iphones before friday morning as for me along with all of you i want it already but it's only a quick three more days. But i submitted my order with Apple just monday that being yesterday the 15th and my iphone order status now says preparing for shipment. Also i have a question for those who ordered more then one iphone 3G S how did you guys do it i thought they had placed a 1 per person limit on them while pre-ordering ... I might be mistaking though

Basically same thing for me. Ordered 6/8 shipped/billed on 6/17. Next day air service used. Seems like it should get here tomorrow or 6/18. Good thing LAX is 20 minutes away from the AT&T store that I ordered from.
dont think they are coming from China think they are in the states already, you cant order a macbook and get overnight from China, I have tried many times. even 2 day never happens.
actually, I noticced this before: that chek lap kok is actually the small town RIGHT NEXT to Hong Kong intl airport.
It means it left China!!!!! Look at flightaware.com to find the flight that it is on, or look a few pages back in this thread for more info.
Well, according to the FlightAware link the plane is already en-route to KY now. So I guess we're not getting those departure scans.

Only problem with UPS 071 is that we don't have anyone with a UPS Tracking report that shows GGG as a departure scan.
Oh, that and it was only on a MD11 ( Tri-jet ) less important load

well the only 2 coming out of VHHH (Hong Kong) are UPS63 and UPS69...
so I am assuming those are the only ones.... I have never heard of them shipping from anywhere else.
Oh ok. I got confused for a second with games. When video games come out, it says on the box, do not sell before this date.
that is the last flight out. otherwise any later and the phones may not make it in time to get sorted and sent out on corresponding flights.
This is driving me crazy. I can't believe some ATT orders are shipping and some aren't.
Seems they're taking care of instore people and us that ordered online are getting the shaft.
also note: it may not update until an hour or two AFTER the actual scan took place. the servers at UPS don't always undergo constant refreshing, and often times revert to 2 hour refreshes at night for US shipments because no1 int eh us is usually tracking at 3 AM (save iphone orderers

Some say UPS routinely delays packages at the shippers request. Is that true? And did Apple specify as such this time? Who the heck knows. I'm not sure they are as worked up about the exact day this time.

Well, it is faster than UPS but does derive from UPS info... because the UPS site doesn't show EACH andEVERY point. But like I said, there are MULTIPLE, MULTIPLE pallets that can fit on that aircraft ( THEY ARE 747s - THEY HOLD A LOT OF CARGO!!!!)
So don't worry. once it clears in AK, it will show

I have 2 iPhones on order from Apple.com. Earlier today the second device I ordered (on June 9th) was set to "Prepared for shipping". The phone I ordered on the 8th was still at Not yet shipped. Then, the second order, labeled as Prepared for Shipping turned BACK to Not yet shipped. Now, the first order is labeled as Prepared for Shipping. I am confused as to why they are switching, but Apple assured me everything is well.

I ordered 5pm on 6/9 and my order status is attached (still no tracking of course)
but..
over at the ATT forums, a guys said at 5ish pm today..
"I just called ATT and they told me they just received their shipment and orders are being processed NOW.
My order has not been processed yet, and I ordered June 9, ~6 AM EST."
So maybe there is a small glimmer of hope we are not gonna get hosed.

Like I said ( I ship HUNDREDS of packages with UPS a year, trust me, IK) that the date will disappear as either an exception is being processed OR the delivery date is being recalculated AFTER it goes through customs. My iPod touch did the same when it shipped on launch date: it reverted to several dates but ended up on time.)
And YES! UPS can easily process exceptions that will hold shipments, or can easily reroute them if needed. That is what is so great about their tech. It is called "UPS DELIVERY INTERCEPT"
