Just called ATT WTF

So I called ATT about an hour ago and they said that my order, which was placed on 6/9, won't ship until friday 6/19. I said the ATT site said if I'd pre ordered it'd arrive on the 19th, but he says this is wrong. What's going on?!

What's going on is a load of crap, I'd be raising hell if that happened to me.
 
Now it says that flight #81 is a Boeing 747-400. I googled this aircraft and in its basic cargo mode it has a cargo capacity of 412,770kg. If we assume that each iPhone plus its packaging averages 1kg, then it is easy math to see how many iPhones this craft is carrying. Assuming of course that the cargo is limited to nothing but iphones.

Again the challenge with UPS 081 is that nobody has reported a tracking scan that hits from Pudong (SPD) as of yet, unless you are reporting your's was scanned there?

The question is, why has mine been "Prepared for shipment" for 3 days? :confused:

Why hasn't the damn thing shipped? I guess its already in the US?
 
That's me too. I'm thinking/hoping that it just means we aren't getting the "Shipping from China" notices and instead, we'll get something when the phones actually get in the states and ship to us. Tracking numbers on Thursday, if they ship overnight.

I had mine shipped to my house, not to a store...

Man I hope they ship to the house I think they do I been a costumer to AT&T for over 9 Years and I been getting it through the mail instead of pick up @ the store. If I have to go wait in line for the new iPhone I pre ordered which I don't think will happen hopefully then I'll have a bitch fit.
 
Quick reminder:

If you don't get your phone early... Or even on launch day as you hoped (or maybe even were led to believe)...

It's not the salesperson's fault. It's not the store manager's fault.

Going berserk on somebody who has no control over the supply chain, or the corporate messages they've been given is not going to solve anything.

As an old tech support guy, I know what it's like to be barbecued over something I had no control over.

So, if it doesn't go the way you'd like, just be nice about it. If you want to go nuts on somebody, do it in writing, to the CEO. If you want somebody to make it up to you, keep it civil, and provide details.

That's all. Now I'll go back to hitting refresh on my email hoping I get my note about the 3Gs I preordered. ;)

Full disclosure: Preordered from Apple directly. It's in preparing for shipment mode, no charge on my Amex. I'm hoping for them to process another batch of them overnight.

That's only because Amex doesn't show pre-auths. I have 2 $1 pre-auths and a $213.48 pre-auth on my VISA.
