It's just the cheapo that comes with 512mb, both the 2,16's come with 1gb. :)
I'd like a bigger HD though, I'd love a little more than 100gb at 7200.

$2000 is "cheapo"? The mind boggles.

No Merons today :(

But if that 100.00 wireless video thing is right, Im so buying that. What I dont get is the people posting about it is saying it is a two piece item, which makes no sense to me. Why wouldnt you just feed it through the existing 11g connection. Streaming media isnt going to staturate that bandwidth unless is it REALLY high definition.

lol

Ah, quote mining. My post wasn't about who was waiting for what, it was demonstrating a point, which has nothing to do with what you, I or anyone else personally wants, hence your comment being a non-sequitur.

So, that's one out-of-context quote of mine and one where you quote someone else (and had you responded to that, your original response actually would have made sense). Brilliant! Not.

if you werent so concerned with your own opinion, you would have noticed that i only replied to that one part of your post, as it was the only part of it i was discussing. i had no issue with the rest of it, you were merely the last person to bring up the speed factor and i was addressing that. dont be so defensive lol.

I hope we at least have the option to upgrade to an x1800. That would make me happy. :) See?

The video card may be one of, if not the, cause of the delay. But not the video card you think. Intel might be pressuring Apple to use an nVidia card in any further revisions, based on AMD's purchase of ATI a couple months ago.

Are there shortages with video cards? I haven't heard anything to that affect. And I would care if we got ATI, nVidia, or 3Dfx as long as it's better than what's in the box now.

Because you're being a realist. No MBP updates today, IMO.

Depressingly have to agree with you there. Looks more and more likely I am going to end up with a Yonah MBP which is just going to piss me off.

so why do i have a feeling nothing is going to happen today in regards to the mbp :(

Logic says something should be coming out for the MBP today. And if there isn't, then Apple's got to be doing something good (in terms of upgrades) to it. I mean, how are they going to explain releasing the new C2D in their flagship $2500 laptops weeks after other manufacturers, if all they do it swap the processor? There are investors to answer to as well :p

Don't get me wrong, I am hoping for a MBP update today, but I don't think logic says it will be done today. If anything, logic points to iTunes/iPod/music/movie updates today. The chances of any computer hardware are slim, though I won't say "none."
If/when no new computer is mentioned today, I won't be surprised or upset. If it does come out, well... the credit card is ready (and has been for about 6 weeks :)).

While we all know apple to have major events for things like a new MBP. Logic says, get rid of all your yonah products before you update. A silent update would keep even the most apple literate (us) guessing and eventually some would turn to the yonah because of time constraints. Also, we know apple as a tuesday update company, however the iMac's were released on a wednesday, that is apple saying keep guessing, cause your never going to know. So logic would say, theres a 50/50 chance of an entire update (case, design, and chip) on a wednesday. However, IMO, i think there is a 100% chance of getting an entire case design and chip update by Photokina (or whatever it is called). If its released before then, then its just going to be a chip switch out nothing more.

I dont think there will be a case update if any at all since they really didnt change the mac pro , ibook/macbook, or iMac looks. Then again I dont think they will ship a Merom until they change out the mainboard and processor, which wont be till next year late Q1 if we are lucky. I still think apple may wait until they can replace the mainboard and processor along with making a rev B before even releasing a Merom based MBP, why rush to market, Apple has always gotten things right rather than half-assing it and popping a 64 bit chip in to a mainboard meant for a 32 bit processor. If you really want to see the performance increase you'll be waiting till next year, sticking a merom on the current MBP mainboards wont net you much more than a hotter lap.

No, logic says that Apple knows when they are going to release C2D. That means they would have started depleting Yonah a while ago, instead of being caught off guard by something forseeable.

Wednesday, but that was because of labor day.

I don't know about case design, but if the MBP really is going to be released that late, I agree that there will definitely be major changes. (Although I'm thinking more towards interior changes, i.e. GPU)

Anyways, the Apple Store is down right now, and it's not like they're taking it down for the new iTunes Movie Store. So I'm going to take a guess that yes, C2D Meroms are coming out today. Or tomorrow, if Apple pulls that "Hey, we'll take the Store down on Tuesday, rile up the rumormongers, then actually do something on Wednesday" thing again.

For those of us who want this C2D MBP, there really is no way to calm down, chill, relax, take it easy, get ready for disappointment, etc. We all know that, in all likelyhood, we will not see updated MBP's today, but yet we continue to dream and hope that we won't have to wait until next Tuesday, or the Tuesday after that, or the Tuesday after that Tuesday, etc.

Breath and cross your fingers.

It means nothing, the entire store is down.

Does that mean we will see clovertown Mac Pros and speedbumped iMacs today? No.

This is starting to get annoying, why the hell do they need to have a special event for each update.

All I want to do is hurl my hard earned cash at Apple so I can work on a project that doesn't pay any money. What's their problem?

*sigh*

Okay, let's get the support group together. Let's go through the 12 steps. Who needs a sponsor?

I'm really tempted to go out and just get my MBP, but I will wait until the 26th for Photokina. I knew I was going to be disappointed today, but it still irks me a little. More patience. More patience. :D
