Now Apple can safely release a limited iMessage for android devices which will make the users envious, and want to buy iPhone, because although they can see all the wonderful stickers they cannot partake in the fun and send them themselves to their friends.

Hmm...last time I checked I can access iCloud.com using any browser I want.

Not quite any browser. I can't access it from IE9.0 at the office but that is my problem and not Apple's.

But you can't access iMessage from icloud.com

Sorry if this has been asked before but do all parties in an iMessage conversation need to have a particular sticker app in order to receive that app's stickers? Or does only the person sending the stickers need to purchase it?

Don't let me stop you from playing chess through Messages, but be aware that there are a bunch of really good chess apps for iOS, including ones that are free, where you can play against the computer, or random opponents, or specific other people (like your son). Two good starting places would be Stockfish and the Chess.com app (both free).
We do play chess, but the apps I've tried assume a real-time game, not a correspondence game. But I'll admit to never looking really hard. :)

It will send the graphic sticker across and some have option to go to the app store to get that particular app if they press on the sticker.
I would like to know if the other user has the sticker or pictures, whatever asset is in the app, does it still send the actual graphic across the network or instead an index to it in order to minimize bandwidth?!?

I was wondering the same, thus my question. The most efficient way would obviously to be to send a unique app+sticker identifier

Stickers will be the new watch bands

[doublepost=1473732568][/doublepost]The iMessage enhancements make a lot of sense. iMessage is probably one of the most used apps. And I suspect the largest demographic are younger folk who they will appeal to the most. Smart move.

I know I'm not speaking for everyone, but who on earth actually uses iMessage anymore? I've used it a lot in the beginning, but these days everyone uses other messaging solutions such as WhatsApp or Telegram. I think this 'stickers' thing (including its own App Store) is a bit overreactive for something that - at least that's what I think - is not being widely used... :p
I and many of the people that I know use iMessage daily. Many times.

Assuming you either have no friends or are over the age of 65...? Pretty much everyone with an iPhone uses iMessage...

Ahead of the public launch of iOS 10 coming tomorrow, Apple today made the Messages App Store live, aggregating all of the apps, games, and sticker packs that can be used in the Messages app and making them available for download.

The Messages App Store looks almost identical to the iOS App Store, so the interface will be immediately familiar to iOS 10 users. There are featured apps and stickers displayed at the top of the store, along with editorial picks like "10 iMessage Apps We Love" and "Games in Messages? Sweet!"

Apps for the Messages App Store are already available, including titles like Games With Friends, Tic Tac Toe, Star Walk, Carrot Weather, Yelp, IMDB, OpenTable, Zen Brush 2, and more.

A number of sticker packs are also available from well-known app developers, including Pac-Man, Star Wars, Angry Birds, Hello Kitty, Crossy Road, and more. iOS 10 sticker packs and apps started rolling out earlier today.

On devices running iOS 10, the Messages App Store and apps compatible with iOS 10 are immediately available. The Messages App Store is accessible by following these steps:

- Open the Messages app
- Tap the App Store icon to open the app interface
- Tap the icon at the bottom that looks like four circles
- Tap the "+" button to open the Messages App Store

The Messages App Store is a little bit sparse right now because apps are still being released, but when iOS 10 becomes available tomorrow, there will be dozens if not hundreds of apps and sticker packs ready to download.

iOS 10 is expected to debut at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Tuesday, September 13.

[doublepost=1473735121][/doublepost]Yay!! Been waiting to be able to use those Disney ones. $1.99 for 21 of them, and the last 6 I think go over a photo somehow...but how? I hope they will be adding more to exsisting packages. =/

Folks can laugh at this stickers, but you will buy them. They are silly. But if someone makes a sticker pack that speaks to you personally, you will drop the $2.99 or whatever it costs and you will send a few stickers to your friends and family. And the Apps will probably cost nearly nothing to make. Basically every brand, be it Marvel, or Disney, or Walking Dead, or Harry Potter, will make a set of stickers. Something will speak to you. And the stickers will be so cheap and you already use iMessage so much, you will end up buying something.

With as much as 500 million iOS users, if every user buys one sticker pack per year that is some serious money. And some folks will buy one sticker pack per week.

Agreed - first time I get Hodor sent to me with a message from a friend asking me to wait whilst I get something they will be getting a sticker right back.

They do not. In fact you don't even need to be on the same version of iOS.

Star Wars speaks to me. It's not worth $2 though. Maybe that's just me. I'm sure it will appeal to somebody though. Apparently niantic has made $440m off of selling
Poke balls and incense. There's a sucker born every minute as they say.
