Interesting reaction. If it happened the current software would be fine for a fair amount of time to come. Additionally, I expect Microsoft would try to generate revenue from CS, rather than use it as a tool against Apple, inviting legal trouble and angering users. That would buy another product cycle or two before it was (I am theorizing) screwed up. I expect such a move would have Apple scrambling to replace software themselves, but more importantly, the third-party market would hasten to develop or evolve its own solutions to complete and take advantage of the new Mac platform opportunity.Yeah, I'm a designer aswell, and I rely on Adobe Software everyday. Its no secret Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator are the best applications available for us Web & Graphic Designers.. If somehow this means no CS5 on the Mac, then I would switch to a PC in a heartbeat.
I got a great name for the new company: Microbe.
"Darn it, I got another virus again. Darn you Microbe!"
I will be shorting the new Microsoft post merger. I can not wait for this to happen. I thought the AOL merger was the worst in history, this will be the death of Microsoft if the merger happens.
Poor Adobe has no where to go and Microsoft is in panic mode.
I love it![]()
2 Companies, that build build crappy software merging. How fitting! LOL
They should rename themselves ASOFT...LOL
Silverlight and Flash?
1 + 1 = 1?
A lot of people here seem to have some belief that they're better off without Adobe/MS products (on their Mac or otherwise) but I guarantee they'd be the first to start whining if Adobe/MS discontinued Mac development.
Adobe can do a few things, like threaten Apple with dropping the Creative Suite.
I have thought of this scenario before and then I realized that Steve Jobs knows a few smart people at a company called Pixar. They could make an applications far superior to any Adobe puts out. (A huge fan of Adboe other than Flash.)
You do realize Mac marketshare is growing, not shrinking, right? It appears Apple is more interested in gadgets than in real computers. It should fit nicely with Apple strategy. Why would Adobe continue invest in Apple, same goes for Microsoft. As for Pros, they never being given much of choices anyway, so they will switch in a heartbeat, just like they always do.
Pixar is not a software design firm.I have thought of this scenario before and then I realized that Steve Jobs knows a few smart people at a company called Pixar. They could make an applications far superior to any Adobe puts out. (A huge fan of Adboe other than Flash.)
Smart move, kill Photoshop and Adobe products on the mac and you can kill off Apple mac sales.
Microsoft is going back to old school style competition since they cannot innovate
Adobe can do a few things, like threaten Apple with dropping the Creative Suite. Though that might backfire. Adobe's not capable of greatness any more, but Apple might be able to find some people who ARE, and fund them...
