If by the other day you mean nearly 3 years ago...

You can keep making excuses for why so many macs were infected but at the end of the day, that's what they are, excuses. Complacency is no excuse unfortunatly.

But yeah, I see where this is going already. Me telling you how it is and you just hunting for excuses and blindly defending a brand. Not surprising though.

You are talking about one Trojan on the Mac vs thousands that infect Windows PCs everyday, with or without antivirus installed.
I'm not being complacent in any way, I'm just stating facts. You probably heard about Flashback in the news and now you loudmouth about it. The media made a huge deal out of it. I have yet to meet a Mac user who got infected with it; and I know several.
Now you tell me you haven't met a Windows user who has never got a virus or Trojan on their Pc and I'll shut up; just try to be honest about it.

You and me both. I made fun of iPhone users when I was androiding for years. Friends pleaded swore up and I down that I was missing it.

Now I know better.

I will never buy a MSFT PC ever again, or their tablet.

I hate to be a debbie downer but do you honestly think that apple will continue to be as innovate as they have been since steve took back over? I mean sure, he left a basic roadmap that should guide apple for a few more years, but the tech industry is highly unpredictable, as was steve's decisions.

I mean think about it... 5 years ago would you honestly believe we would be where we are now?

Of course you're worried. It shows in every post. You can't be objective.

Right, your posts are clearly more objective. You need links and articles to prove something to you that you are yearning for. I don't know what you are looking for, perhaps more justification to own this windows 8 thing or what, but you got my approval for buying it.

Be sure to come back to the same exact thread after you buy it and when the thing flops (which it will), let me know if you are going to put it on CL, I'll be sure to help you out with the sale :)

lol, i'm not worried about microsoft. My money is in AAPL. And if I owned MSFT, I'd be really worried. You can choose windows if you'd like. I'm not here to judge YOU. Guess who won't be buying windows anything? That's right, me :D

You are saying that you own stock in AAPL? Don't worry about bashing Microsoft here to keep your AAPL price rising. Few people are on MR compared to the rest of the world. I'd just stay rational instead.

Also, I'm not insulting AAPL owners. I am one.

I hope they release more info on these tablets soon. I want to know battery life, price, release time frame, etc. I'd like to hear some hands on use too. It will be nice if they can pull this off and do it right. They should have been paying attention to all of the disasters with Android tablets and take their time and do it right. They are very late to the game, they need to be spit shined and ready to go.

Exactly the reason I've waited years for a tablet. Said it before that a Windows 8 tablet would be the first tablet I buy and keep and this is definitely it. Everything about it seems amazing! :)

If so, why do you post it on a forum like this one?
Anyway, have fun with your M$ trash, little troll.

Agreed. It's pretty clear that faroZ06, Anti-Lucifer, and Amazing Iceman are feeling the heat.

Hey, don't lump me in with the fanboys :(
I choose my products carefully and buy with good reason. I don't buy MS, but I'm not a huge Apple user compared to others here who uses iPads, iMacs, iPods, iCloud, and iRobots.

Agreed. It's pretty clear that faroZ06, Anti-Lucifer, and Amazing Iceman are feeling the heat.

The heat I'm feeling is from sitting on this chair typing out all of these posts and not getting thru to you and your windows 8 entourage. I swear you guys must be MS paid trolls coming here to see what we apple guys feel about your gadget in the works.

The fact that this topic has gotten so many posts so fast shows that Microsoft must be doing something right. No Android tablet has been able to draw nearly this much attention.

I haven't seen or used the Surface yet, so I'll have to go by your expert knowledge of how it works. Hopefully you can give us a quick review tomorrow. I'm anxious to read it.

I'll spell it out for you:

You're mocking Windows for only being able to run 1 program at a time.

I'm mocking you for using an iPad, and being stuck with the same 1 program at a time paradigm.

Unless such an Apple devotee like yourself doesn't own an iPad

Seriously, take a chill pill. You're getting worked up and not making much sense.

YOU are clearly worked up, my friend. I think it's time for you to put down the haterade on a mac forum and actually enjoy mac products or else why would you be here, right?

Agreed. Don't you think Apple should have 2-app multitasking on the iPad? Not a window system but a 2-app system. MS Snap comes to mind, one of the good features added to Windows 7.

Who says the iPad doesn't multitask?

I can work on a document while talking to someone on Skype, while the mail app is getting my email, while GoodReader is transferring a file in the background, while several other apps send me event notifications. Isn't that enough for a tablet?

Now if you are referring to having two apps showing at the same time on the a 10" display, you gotta be kidding! I rather do a four finger swap and switch between apps than trying to fit two apps at the same time.

But if you must surf the web and take notes at the same time, there's an app for that already.

If it is priced well, I hope Apple has something really special up their sleeve for the iPad 4. Problem is this is full Windows. What we need is a full Photoshop for iOS. Not just another "touch" version. Real full PhotoShop.

OMG? Full photoshop on tablet? My wife uses a ~3 year old Dell XPS Core i7 with 12 gigs big-as-a-microwave PC for "full photoshop" and it still hangs on some detailed projects.

If MSFT can get "full photoshop" working usefully on a tablet, I'll give them huge props and will surely hope they start making desktops.

;-)

So if the iPad had a vent, it would be a macbook air? Interesting perspective.
Well the fact is the iPad wouldn't have vents since it would not run a bloated desktop operating system with a touch screen ui over it.

This will not be successful. There will be no apps for this when it launches.

Other than the thousands of apps already coded for windows... and the many, many, many others that are being coded RIGHT NOW for metro.

I think mozilla has had the devkit for the RT windows 8 for several months now.

This will have a rather large library of applications at launch. I could almost bet you that the major games are already ready "angry birds and ect".

Don't talk about the design infringement on the magnetic hinge. Microsoft made a serious mistake on the Touch Cover design.

1. You need to find a flat and hard tablet in order to use the keyboard entry.

2. if you use the tablet by holding it. either tear out the cover or flip it around to the back. Tearing out the cover creates separated part......you need to find a place to store it and it is easy to loss it. Flipping it around to the back has great chance to accidentally touch the key and create wrong entry.

I haven't seen such stupid design

Is it me or is this place full of MS Fangirls? To funny  I for one am glad MS brought out this thing its about time the rest of society moved on and got as unproductive as they can with a monstrosity like this tablet. :D

Makes my life much easier and way more financially satisfying; bring it one MS there is plenty of money in Windows 8 monstrosity of an OS for me to enjoy.

The fact that this topic has gotten so many posts so fast shows that Microsoft must be doing something right. No Android tablet has been able to draw nearly this much attention.

Only Microsoft can bring this kind of fear to an Apple forum. People are thinking, what if Steve was wrong. Again. :D

And you know, the same is about using Windows. Perhaps the sarcasm was not clear.

Then it is clear that you're lying

No it's not. I have to work with windows too.
Confirms me every single day to never buy a windows computer for myself.

@above me: wrong with what? That M$ again is stealing Apple's ideas?
With this announcement there is nothing to fear at all. Except for M$, which will never again be a leading computer company.
