So if everyone watches Harry Potter movies, reads harry potter books, they are just tools? So you want to be the only one on the block with a smartphone and tablet that no one has?

Guess what, you have your wish come true! It's called Windows 8 Pro and RT. Wait, you can't buy it because it isn't coming out until....and it costs unknown.

Every teenage kids owns an iPhone because it's awesome. Just like I want to own a ferrari because it too is awesome. You can consider a ferrari like a toyota camry if you'd like. Every non-ferrari owner will think you are out of your mind ;)

You're the one who said that Apple has the elite customers. Perhaps to you 7-11 is elite. I have no idea what your standards are.

At least, read what you write

That the stereotype about MS has turned out to be true, and I have never been satisfied with their trash? I mean, the fact that I have an opinion is a fact. I don't just hate stuff because it's MS, but I assume that it will be bad (subjective) because I have been correct every time.

I actually liked the XBOX until it got an RRoD after not that much use. Office was great until I tried iWork and realized that I've been using mediocre software (but still not horrible). I loved Age of Empires II until I experienced the horrible glitches of multiplayer mode. I thought Windows was nice until I found out that those glitches, clunkiness, and problems are not normal. Internet Explorer.... ok that was never good.

I use my Mac everyday; in fact, I never turn it off. Besides normal maintenance, I don't run into any issues that would make me waste a whole day of work trying to fix, as it used to happen with Windows.
I only had 2 kernel panics in 5 years, caused by a faulty driver I was trying to install for a third-party product.

Ah, you are talking about Windows 98.

Now I understand, you din't know how Windows has been since 8 years ago

Everyone who says Microsoft windows is a real joy to use vs OS X is a complete liar. Not only do you have to install virus scanner program on your windows machine, you have all the other defragging crap, malware, and a majority of the time you don't know if your system is stable enough to run something intensive that you can't have interference with from other programs installed so you resort to restarting and kill off every single program except the one that you need to run.

How is this considered wonderful to use? Hell to the NO for windows.

quite like it tbh

nice seek design, interesting to see windows 8 on there.. played with the preview build and you can tell it was more 'user friendly' and 'tablet friendly' for stupid people.. like mac os.. (yes I have a mac too.. the design is for stupid people that are locked down to not get to anything techy..logic has a nice workflow though)

good thing will be they can push the hardware a lot.. having 2 sets of drivers and thats it will certainly help stability etc.. my ipad slows a lot with a few websites on the go. If this works nicer i'll jump ship.

Everyone who says Microsoft windows is a real joy to use vs OS X is a complete liar. why? for more tech minded people it's 100% better to be honest, considering OS x is essentially linux based its a joke how little you can actually mess around with the 'innards'

Not only do you have to install virus scanner program on your windows machinemacs have viruses too. just outside of the US apple has around 10% of the computer market? chances are you're going to come across more stupid people in the 90% so may as well target the bigger demographic. I dont have a antivirus. but then I don't browse stupid questionable websites, y
ou have all the other defragging craplike in windows 7+vista where it does it in the background.. oh like a mac? it just keeps things inline for the HD nothing wrong with it.. and it's in the background who cares?,
malwareagain all OS's regardless of what it is has malware and viruses and the like.. many target windows more due to having the biggest amount of users by a massive percentage. just playing the numbers game!

, and a majority of the time you don't know if your system is stable enough to run something intensive that you can't have interference with from other programs installed so you resort to restarting and kill off every single program except the one that you need to run. Really? Wow.. you clearly just don't like Microsoft as an apple fanboy? Windows is a perfectly viable OS for a computer etc.. its why it's top dog. actually costs more then apples OS and outsells it by a huge amount. People/companies/businesses use it in very critical enviroments works fine for them.. you obviously just used it wrong.. hence the simple mac os locking you out of anything is probably for the best ;)

How is this considered wonderful to use? Hell to the NO for windows.

Also.. so you know.. I have an iphone (i like but it's boring now tbh, had each one since the iphone 3g and rumors of a tiny increase in screensize is lame of my gf's s3)

ipad(just hate it not having flash really thats my only gripe, can go quite slow too but tats cos' i never restart it)

MBP (dont tend to use as I can use my desktop which is more powerful etc.. its more for location recording)

im not just hitting out.. but millions of people use windows OS's and are happy with them.. you blurting out hate and just misinforming people is just stupid.

To be honest I have been skeptical about this since the very first moment, but now I'm quite impresed with what Microsoft came up with. Bravo!

Honestly ,do you really think that windows can get a better OS than iOs? Because that`s all about that...if the Pro Tablet really feets, wait a few months for apple new launch.
It`s time for the World to forget first impression, and really look for what the product can do...and honestly, beside keyboard/cover, nothing really impressive there?

Ok no one seems to know this...

Any apps made for the ARM RT version of windows 8 will work on the x86 "pro" version as well. Its just that the RT version will not run any "non-metro" applications.

Also as far as the "virus" argument is concerned. I would assume that the RT tablet will be just as locked down as the ipad, microsoft has even said they will not allow support for flash or other third party "plug ins". Meaning the only way you can install applications is through the market.

Now there is always the risk on the Pro version i suppose. But to be honest I am sure microsoft has thought of this and is probably making a version of their Security suit made just for the pro tablet. But to be honest when I had a windows 7 machine just practicing common sense was protection enough.

Back when I was using Windows XP, I swore apple was garbage because I only used PCs and Windows.

Today, I understand why Steve Jobs is so amazing. I was blind for over 20 years using Microsoft crap.

You and me both. I made fun of iPhone users when I was androiding for years. Friends pleaded swore up and I down that I was missing it.

Now I know better.

I will never buy a MSFT PC ever again, or their tablet.

so buying something expensive is elitist? I just know you have no standards because you actually consider using microsoft anything.
;)

People call me a fanboy for saying this, but Microsoft stuff is pretty much always trash.

I repeat, at list, read what you write

You're just posting to antagonize. That's against TOS. LTD did the same thing all the time too. And got banned.

1 time in 12 years is pretty good. Actually, it's more like 1 day in 4380 days. More importantly, I hope you have bought a new computer by then.

PC owners buy a new computer every year. That's the norm. Why? Because it makes their machines run better. 1 day in 4380 days? Right. you must never run more than one program at a time in your box.

And I don't have corrupt registry, DLL problems or viruses on my Windows 7 desktop. Now what?

And regardless how HOW it gets onto your Mac, the fact is that millions were infected and it took a long time to resolve.

Windows 7 just came out the other day, and even with Antiviruses and all kinds of protection it gets infected one way or another.

Most Mac users don't have Antivirus software, so this Flashback Trojan had it easy once it fooled the user.

What tablet does Apple make that docks with a keyboard? Has USB? Micro SD? Runs Windows? An Intel processor?

The iPad does dock with a keyboard. In fact, Apple did release a keyboard dock along with the first iPad. Then again, do you really need a physical keyboard with a tablet?

As for the rest, do you really need it in a ultra-portable consumption device like the iPad?

another post without a clue, nothing new

Another respondent with nothing better to say about my opinion, nothing new.

I thought it came out almost 3 years ago.

You don't need to always bring up TOS because you can't handle topics at hand. So it's ok to say mac users are this and that but it's not ok to write about personal experience with windows sucking?

Give me a break, man. You don't need to pull out a red card on players just because they have an itch in their crotch.

Never keep a computer for 12 years. It may seem like you are saving money, but you are not. Selling before it depreciates ends up costing less per year.

did microsoft pay macrumors for this promotion ? cos this is all pc related news serious!!! - angry user looking for mac news only !!!!

Windows 7 doesn't need a defragger, it will install anti-virus automatically if you don't, and it really isn't all that bad.

No, you must never run more tha 1 program on your box, because you use an iPad. I use a PC, and usually have 2 IDE's, 2 web browsers, an email client, office, and an emulator open and music playing. It runs quite quickly too.

You're the one who's worried about Windows 8, not me. The more great products I have to chose from, the better for me. I'll chose the one that is best for me. You chose what's best for you, even if it's not.

There was that whole Beach ball of death debacle upgrading from 10.5 to 10.6. There are also grey screens of death that I get a few times a year. Hard drives get fragmented on Macs also.

I had no issues going for 10.5 to 10.6. Of course, if you keep trying to run old software and drivers that are not meant to run with a new OS version, then you'll definitely run into problems.
