I question how practical it really is to lower the display and draw at those awkward angles like MS is showing in their video
It's very practical, it's why drafting tables are at the same 20 degree angle.

What are the similarities you see? Outside of both computers being AiO, what design similarity is there? Serious question. What Kool-aid? It's an observation. Wouldn't drinking Kool-aid imply I'm all on the Apple bandwagon? I wasn't insulting Microsoft, I'm just pointing out the obvious similarities in the borrowed design aesthetics. It's not an insult to Microsoft, but a compliment to Apple. And now Microsoft is showing some obvious innovation here. Just because it looks similar doesn't mean they're copying Apple. They clearly aren't. Maybe you need to drink some actual Kool-aid and chill out a bit.
They look similar, but are clearly different. Dunno why people are getting frazzled by someone else's perspective. If you think they look nothing alike, that's entirely up to you and perfectly fine, but to deny that these types of computers don't have any ideas borrowed from Apple is just plain silly. What are the similarities you see? not looking like that they wouldn't.That Surface Studio seems like a product Apple would create. Nice job Microsoft
Those prices though...
Over $3500 for 16 GB Ram and i7 in the Surface Studio.
I know right. Looks JUST like this one from 1996. I bet they will be sued for copying it. They are almost identical!A fugly lineup that looks like it was designed in 1996.
MS is twenty years late and heading in the wrong direction.
Those are computers designed for people who can't embrace the futures.
Poor, poor, poor.
To bad that Apple came first with it.
they may be a victim of their own success. go to any campus and you'll see 90% apple notebooks. So now its a herd choice--not a status choiceI think Apple has a pretty big lockdown on "cool" ... but the professionals are starting to go elsewhere.
The iMac is not comparable to this product in any way. And are you really comparing the Apple Pencil to this? Seriously?
Yet, in the tech media and forums, you wouldn't know that.Apple came second with a lot of products and made them better than anyone else. First-comer status doesn't mean much.
There were no modern computers in 1996 released with those floppy drives. Nice try but you are off by a decade.I know right. Looks JUST like this one from 1996. I bet they will be sued for copying it. They are almost identical!

If they turned the 5K iMac into a touch screen, it would cost the same as this or more. The Apple Pencil is easily the equivalent of any Wacom Cintiq on the market in terms of accuracy/lag/levels of touch sensitivity. All Apple would have to do if they wanted to "copy" the Surface Studio is put the specialized hardware from the iPad Pro that works in tandem with the Apple Pencil into a 27" iMac with a touch-screen. No doubt it would be cheaper than the Surface Studio and also allow connection to a swing-arm, which is actually preferred by many creative pros.

Where the hell has Jony gone ? Should we try and find him ?
i have a feeling your tone would change IF it has thisHaving said the above, whilst the studio looks like it might be quite practical (assuming it is rigid enough to take the pressure of someone leaning on it) I think it's actually quite ugly. The other things, well they're ugly as well.
