Regarding Outlook requiring a 365 sub: I have never installed Outlook on this Mac, and have never had a 365 sub. When I opened Outlook, it said to sign in with my Microsoft or work account, or I could hit the FREE PREVIEW button.

So I did, and now I have Outlook working with Gmail and my own IMAP server.

There was no option for work offline anywhere I could see.

F2 button works for cell edit finally

After so many years, I can use F2 to change cell content without ctrl + U...

Giving it a try but it's ugly, just like Office 2013 on the PC. The CAPS for the headings is annoying and ugly. The rest looks like a warmed over Office 2011.

Will be OK for those that need office - I'll probably stick with iWork as I have for the past 2 years.

Some folks have a hard time getting off their trycycles

Outlook 2016 Exchange Account

I have been successfully using a corporate exchange account in Outlook 2011. I am unable to create the same account in Outlook 2016 using the exact same account credentials. It shows not connected. Any suggestions?

Not approved/allowed on your firm's Exchange server side?

outlook 2016 beta > office 2016?

Hi

have office 20016 downloaded this evening

Please clarify if I need to re activate office 365 paid subs to use outlook?

word excel and power point are fine -why is outlook not part of the 2016 office preview:confused:

Am I the only one that have horrible performance, really choppy scrolling to the point that it is a pain to use? And it's the same on both of my macs.

Outlook is part of the preview. What do you mean?

Agreed. It's part of the preview and was primarily what I was interested in trying out. Though I've been using everything successfully (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). And I am not, nor have I ever been, an Office 365 Paid Subscriber.

Just clicked the "Free Preview" button upon installation.

I downloaded outlook beta a few weeks ago

When I downloaded office 2016 earlier today Outlook is in offline mode

in typical microsoft style from p.c. years..ive decided to remove the outlook beta and install office 2016 again...maybe it won't insist in activating a 365 subs

Outlook, iCloud, Google Calendars

Does anyone know if this version of Outlook FINALLY plays nice with iCloud and/or Google Calendars?

This has been the biggest overlooked flaw with Outlook for ****** years! It's baffling to me that Outlook for Windows does a better job with iCloud calendars and contacts than the Mac version.

Can't open Office 2016?

Anybody else having this weird issue? Once the Office 2016 package installed, I could not open it. I fully removed it, then re-downloaded. The problem still persisted. The installer begins to open but then rapidly closes. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Argh, I just can't complete the damn download, whether the normal link or the mirror posted in here. It'll go for a little while but after 20 minutes or so it just stops. Still no Mega link or anything?

Last night, I was having the same issue. Then it successfully installed, but it just would not open.

Can't get Outlook to work

Tried Outlook 2016 from three different Office downloads and it will not open up. I keep getting "Microsoft Error Reporting" window. All other Apps in Office work fine. :(

The following steps worked for me

Please do the following:

1. Open Terminal
2. Type defaults delete com.microsoft.Outlook to delete the old preferences
3. killall cfprefsd (to kill the cached prefs)
4. Launch Outlook

Note this will ask you to import again, but if you imported before no need to do it again, the data is already imported correctly. So hit "Not Now" and it should launch Outlook successfully.

Apple Contacts to Outlook

Does anyone know if there is a way to import the contacts from OSX into Outlook? I can't seem to find a way to do this.

Import Apple Address Book contacts

You can export contacts from the Apple Address Book as a vCard, and then drag the vCard file into Outlook to import your contacts.

Tip As an alternative to importing contacts from the Apple Address Book, you can turn on Sync Services for your Outlook contacts. Turning on Sync Services syncs your Outlook contacts with the Apple Address Book, MobileMe, and other applications or devices that you set up in Apple iSync.

In the Apple Address Book, select the contacts that you want to export, and then drag the selection to the desktop.

The contacts are saved as a vCard file that contains all the contacts.

In Outlook for Mac, at the bottom of the navigation pane, click Contacts Contacts view button.

Drag the vCard file from the desktop to the Contacts item list.

Note Contact groups in the Apple Address Book are converted to categories in Outlook
