Microsoft has become one of the most evil companies on the planet. They used to make money from selling software. Now they make money with collecting user data and annoying their users with ads in software they bought. Microsoft should be stopped by the EU immediately.
Evil. You have to be either joking or blind. Ever hear of Wells Fargo? Goldman Sachs? X? Monsanto? Purdue Pharma? Boeing? General Dynamics? Lockheed Martin? Who do you think made those missiles, rockets and bombs killing Palestinians? Evil corporations, that's who. Microsoft is a shining company on a hill compared to any of them.

And just how do you propose that the EU "stop" an American corporation?

But why would they? How could they? Manipulate their stock price?

To what end?
They could remove their CEO, refocus their product line and hone their software. It's not rocket science and Apple did it before when Jobs came back to Apple. This is just the same cycle over again.

You would be amazed at how many areas of the Enterprise IT business Microsoft has got covered with their product suite... I'm not surprised, honestly.

While Apple's business is predominantly made up of hardware sales, which will be severely crippled by the decrease in consumer spend, Microsoft will continue to benefit from a steady stream of services revenue from the medium and large enterprise segment. The Azure Cloud Services business on its own is huge, then there is the Office365 for Enterprise business, Windows Server and SQL et.c. Even LinkedIn is owned by MS.

As a shareholder, I own both. Apple, because they are the only products I want to own and use as a consumer, and Microsoft, because I know that they have such a strong foothold in the corporate world. When the general economy grows, Microsoft will follow suite.

wonder if Apple will ever complete with Microsoft productivity suite and Enterprise Cloud services for the everyday business
No, trust me, I work in IT Support and almost no company uses a Mac. The software is also very very limited on a Mac + pricing is awful. Very very few companies use Macs and iPhones over here, in Europe. Most use Windows and Android. Even in the Nordic countries.

What a nonsense, each day everyday MS software is causing me all kinds of trouble
My IT teacher used to say that the problem is always between the chair and the keyboard.
I use Microsoft products every day and have had no issues. As a matter of fact Windows works way better than macOS. Especially for server monitoring.

Honestly, I'm not shocked. Apple has lost that magical appeal to me after Job's passing. On the other hand, I despise Microsoft and their shady business practices and the extra garbage that has been shoveled into windows.
I think Apple has gotten better ever since Jobs passed away.
I don't understand the Jobs obsession. He was a horrible person anyways. He abused his employees etc and after jobs died the software has been supported for far longer.

No answer for that? Microsoft, of the big four companies, has the biggest leg up on AI.

But not at the Edge. Microsoft has no Edge device or smart phone. And just about everything Microsoft knows about AI comes from OpenAI not Microsoft itself!

What is Apple's response to my currently collaborating with 16 people in an excel spreadsheet (doing that right now at work) with full tracking? My computers are a lot more important to me than my smartphone.

I use a Mac at home, and a PC at work. Tools for the job.

I don't care about AI, from any company, including Apple.

Sorry to say it by AI might replace your spreadsheet and the 16 people updating it! It is what it is...

Satya really has schooled Tim

I don't know what that means.
lot of components come with scratches and scuffs and it is unacceptable. AirPods still come scratched up out of the box. There was even an article with complaint back when the Airpods Pro 2 came out and misaligned assembly.

All Macbook Pros come with scratches in their display.

The list goes on...they will not fit cause people will just buy, because its Apple. The same excuse Forstall used with the Maps fiasco which got him fired.

And just how do you propose that the EU "stop" an American corporation?
The EU could make all that data collection illegal. Microsoft even sends data to it servers, if the customer does not want that.

And non of those corporations you mentioned invades my privacy. Google of course is even worse than Microsoft. The world would be a better place without Google.

Anyone working at Microsoft? How is it? Do you like it?

What about Apple? How is it to work at Apple Corp? Are you allowed to share insights?

I wonder how these companies compare.

Cisco, IBM, and SAP have all entered the chat. They are all very heavily Mac focused. Cisco and IBM have even posted articles about how their employee moral has improved with the introduction of Mac as a Choice. (Not coincidently, the CIO of Cisco used to be the CIO of IBM and has brought Mac as a Choice to both organizations).

Now, I won't say Macs are easy to work with in the Enterprise. This is my daily job. Some of the issues are cultural (legacy IT thinking, macOS products that are just poor Windows ports) and some are Apple's (poorly written and implemented Enterprise tools.

This just shows that Nadella has done an amazing job taking over from Ballmer.

I wonder how Apple would look today if Nadella ran it…

I used Windows for decades. Linux beats windows today very easy. So - i am gone for good. Microsoft has done a lot of marketing for programs, especially in the world of government and business. Because many are now using these programs, microsoft is still in it. Privately, however, you hardly need something like that anymore...

I hope you sold your shares before all the Apple downgrades over that past week.
Don't know how markets work, do you? Like I said it didn’t matter. So, whatever you said it’s just nonsense. I still made my gain and that’s what matters. This is a constant thing to happens yearly.

"Most valuable company" doesn't mean anything because this is just based on the stock price, nothing real. It was significant when Apple passed Microsoft because Microsoft almost killed Apple, but nowadays they're both at the same level of giant corporate conglomerates

Since by Apple's measure 8GB = 16GB because of their unified architecture, their market cap is actually closer to 6 trillion, not 3. You cannot compare a vertically integrated business to horizontal businesses such as MS. Vertical has AT LEAST twice the real-world value!

:p
Except it wasn't Apple's measure it was just one person. Virtually the whole trade has condemned that ridiculous comment that I suspect Apple wished had never been made. 8Gb is 8Gb, and tests demonstrate the drop in performance and increased swapping.

LOL,

My job (and this spreadsheet)can't replaced any more by AI than giving a shot can replaced with AI.

Plus, federal laws would have to change.
