Yeah you work on one at work and use their software or programs that was created by MS tools. Just look around and you will see.
Do you know where he works or something?
I've worked for a startup and a couple of multi-national corporations (one fortune 500) in the last decade. I and most of my colleagues have used a Mac (not in graphic design or any other stereotype field). At each place, the Windows PC users definitely lost more time to and complained more about their IT experiences. But Microsoft services were not completely absent, so that is something yet pretty well split amount other providers.

Woah! That’s crazy! Congratulations, Microsoft!

Apple, maybe consider shutting down CSAM? No one wants to deal with that. It’s hurting you.
I can't tell if you are pro the rollout of the anti-CSAM for iCloud Photos content or if this is potentially poorly worded.

“but Microsoft is bad?” - Apple is not failing, it’s just that they are not as valuable as they used to. For me as a customer the spying bs of Apple made me consider a degoogled phone. And they are still pushing this photo scanning thing.

Competition is good.

MSFT & Apple aren't really competitors. MSFT's biggest business is cloud computing & Azure which competes with AWS services. MSFT is business & gov focussed and Apple is consumer focussed. The MSFT Surface line is nothing in the grander scale of the overall business. (I was a MSFT employee until a few months ago.) MSFT is also much more diversified for income streams.

Awww... poor you.... Another company took Apple's top spot. What a shame! :-\

--

So what - this means nothing, companies will jostle their networth positions almost on a daily basis.
Won't affect your enjoyment of Apple's products.
It’s called being butt hurt. Lol

Apple vs Microsoft, Google vs Apple, Star Wars vs Star Trek, DC vs Marvel! When will these perpetual wars ever end? The casualties are too high!

Apple had its best quarter ever, best sales ever, and was at the same time constrained by shortages.

I mean, that is a buying opportunity, Wallstreet is sometimes so dumb.
Thank goodness there are smart people like you out there. I fear for humanity how they speculate with no actual idea.

why would any work place upgrade to windows 11 now? isn't it common knowledge to wait for the first "point release" before upgrading?
Well agreed.. There is always testing a security prep work that goes into larger companies. SAP is huge.

The surface pro 8 is an outstanding device. They have released some great hardware this year. Yes you can own both Apple and Microsoft products. It is allowed.
I love Surface. Makes me sad that Apple isn't competing in this form factor by allowing full MacOS on the iPad pro. I mean that M1 chip is just begging to be used to run full desktop applications in a Microsoft Surface form factor. I so want that.

Microsoft is a software company and doesn't have to worry about supply chain. If the US dollar inflates then they just raise the price of their software / services by a corresponding amount. Apple doesn't have that luxury.
Apple has that luxury and most certainly uses it.

All of prices for Apple products outside the USA have part of the margin that specifically exists to cover exchange rate fluctuation. If that margin gets too thin, Apple will correct it. Usually on the next model but sometimes on the same model as a price change.

I do like the new Microsoft. Ever since they removed the founders from day to day management and reexamined Microsoft's place in the tech landscape, they've been making much better decisions.

I bought MSFT the day Balmer announced his retirement, and boy was that a good call.

Solid growth in product categories? You must be having a laugh.

The only decent product launch this year has been the MacBook Pro.

The HomePod Mini update is the most laughable, beaten only just by the 1mm Apple Watch screen size increase.

I hope this is a lesson to Apple. Sort it out for 2022, we want innovation.

I’m super excited for the blue HomePod mini and the 45mm Watch is amazing.

So you believe the earth has infinite resources we can continue to plunder so we can have shiny new gadgets every year to replace last year's shiny new gadget? And I wasn't being literal when I said "we all die." I'm sure you and I will be long dead before the bill well and truly comes due. I suppose for some people, that's good enough. Heck, I might even be one of them. What do I owe those future folks, right?
I'm not going to explain the vast complexity and nuance of the things you reduce down to simple talking points.

Former Windows user from Windows 3.0 to XP with no plans to return.

Even if (like me) you don’t buy MSFT products any more, you really have to be impressed with what the company has done since the clown show days of Steve Balmer. Honestly, a lot of their consumer products are really beautiful, well designed and with tight integration. Not to mention the massive operations they have around Enterprise level products.
