APPLE: We have you in our ecosystem. Give us all your monies!!!!

People here are insane! Microsoft (along with Goog and Sammy) have also been pricing their hardware more on the expensive side. The surface 6 is around 2k for a gig of storage. That’s right 2k for a SURFACE. Pixel 3XL is more than $900. For a PIXEL. The new note is $1000. A SAMSUNG phone.

The thing is. With my iPhone I get 5 years of updates. Pixel and the Note will get 2 if they’re lucky.

The surface is running Windows so that’s already a handicap.

Also if we really want to be fair. The Pixel Book starts at $1000 and can go up to $1600. That’s one expensive browser.

But I’m sure you knew all this when you made your very useful, memetastic comment. And didn’t make it for the likes of internet nerds.
You know your opinion about Windows and Samsung/Pixel phones is your own biased opinion? For you an iPhone is worth the $1000 for others an Android phone which is basically a computer in their pockets is worth the same price tag.
Windows has grown a lot and is not what it used to be, in fact macOS is buggier than ever compared to Windows, it's giving me more headaches than any Windows version since 7. You speak of 5 years of updates like most people and probably you, keep their phones for 5 years and don't update yearly, and even if you don't then again it's your own biased opinion.
But I'm sure you knew all that before you came here commenting such thing to get approval and feel better about your own biased choices.

Agree completely.
Microsoft seems to have a much better long term cloud strategy that is making tons of money. Apple has the cash to do what they want. They just need to pick up the pace and start competing.
You want Apple to become a cloud company?

If only Apple appreciated this sentiment (which is wide, wide spread) a little sooner... They way overestimated how much they could squeeze middle America.

What are you even talking about? Sure, the top of the line iPhone is pricey. But you can also buy a new iPhone 7 for under $500. I guess BMW is squeezing "middle America" too by offering the 3 series and the i8. You make no sense.

Can someone explain how Apple got to $1T (and were still there a couple months ago) in the first place if they’re doomed and their products suck so bad?

I believe there are 3 key factors for this:

1. MS Cloud Services are excellent and becoming better and better, you get value for what you pay.
2. Surface line up hardware innovation.
3. Better software. Windows 10 is faster, and currently looks more attractive than macOS with their fluent design.

But as somebody said, these are cycles, currently MS is the most valuable company, we don't know tomorrow. I currently can't relate MS to practices like: cheap hardware, shady software to slow down devices, prices that don't match the value or experience of their products, money and margins first.

Apple hasn’t been “Apple” since Steve Jobs died

This is true to some extent. But let's not forget that the whole "thinner is better" obsession was in full swing at the time, as was making components inaccessible and price gouging e.g. $200 for an additional 4GB of RAM, etc.

The only thing Wall Street cares about is #1. No Wall Street investor cares about Windows UI design or Surface hardware. All they care about are services and cloud offerings.

next year should be more prosperous for Microsoft because that is year i replace all my apple products since the company no longer cares about anything pre2018 no matter how thin they are!

Mac computers in these days are too expensive for its hardware and performance. People may say USE THEIR OWN SOFTWARE LIKE FCPX!!! Guess what? They have only a few of them less than 5 lolol. Apple is having a lack of application for professional users and yet they are not making powerful computers.

Apple needs to change but they are not realizing what is happening and they are living in their own world.

Tim Cook is sounding more like Steve Ballmer each year. Apple has been putting to much priority into the iPhone and not it's other lines.

Why is it taking years for a new Mac Pro to come out. Right now the iMac Pro has better processors. I can get a PC with real Intel Xeon processors(up-gradable) along with the rest of the systems. I just checked Dell's website for their workstations. For the $5,000 Apples charges for the base iMac Pro (8core). I can get a 16 core Dell Precision 7920 Tower. Yes, that's without a monitor. But I can upgrade the crap out of it. It's able to go Dual processor, any graphic card, etc. This doesn't count building your own.

I mean look how long it took them to upgrade the Mac mini. Which was always nerfed before now.

Yes, PC/Desktop/laptop sales are not growing like the smart phone market. But the smart phone market is going flat and people will be using the phones longer before replacing. I really don't she anything ground breaking coming to smart phones anymore. Everything now will be just improvements on what's already there. Any energy improvements will be of set by small/thinner phone with less battery. But still same run time.

For all the work Apple has done to build their ecosystem and get people into it. By ignoring the rest of that ecosystem, you give people reason to move out. Look how they dropped the ball on the HomePod. It was late, it doesn't have a screen option. Now on top of Amazon's Echo Show, now with version 2, you have Google and even FaceBook getting into the picture.

Of course. One of the companies have realised that in 2018 consumers naturally do not have to buy both a pc and a tablet.

$749 "budget" Smartphone... $799 "entry-level" computer... $849 "basic" laptop (the older Air is still available I guess, for education)...

LOL...

Where are you getting $849 from? The lowest priced Apple laptop is $999 for the 2015 Macbook Air with a 5th generation Intel CPU and the worst screen available in any major brand laptop.
