This is where I was.

I see now you have to specifically go under “Business” to see this one. Wonder why they keep these separate? I mean, it’s “Computers” and “Computers FOR BUSINESS”. And, if you go under computers, they never make you aware that the system DOES have an LTE option, but it’s only for business. Even if you go through their “what kind of computer is good for me” Q&A session and you SAY “LTE is important”, they’ll direct you to the Pro X… KNOWING they’ve got a 7+ that has an LTE option!?

The only windows machine I would ever buy if Apple stopped selling Macs 😂 for whatever reason would be a Surface Pro. They are pretty damn good.

That's harsh and I trash M$ every moment I get.
Oh please! And people here call Tim Cook "Tim Crook" and call Apple "Crapple" and you're annoyed the fact that I have lost respect for Microsoft? Hmmm. Don't forget MS has been constantly putting out ads for the past 5 years straight trashing Apple's Macs and now the iPad. And you call my post harsh? WOW. That's a lot of MS defending. 🙄

I don’t even really consider them in the same category. The iPad is just its own thing. The other is a 2-in-1. Different concepts for different people.

I never being accused of defending M$...feels kind of weird!

I hate the truth but have to say it, M$ still pushes out great software that no one has been able to make a better alternative to and have half decent hardware that get marketed so bad it destroys them (RIP Zune and MS phone).

It would be hilarious if they concluded that the iPad is better, and things got awkward...

From Microsoft’s website, here’s the ports it has.

1 x USB-C®
1 x USB-A
3.5 mm headphone jack
1 x Surface Connect port

MicroSDXC card reader

I can’t believe there’s anyone that sees Apple’s USB-C as limiting and sees this as a cornucopia of connections. The VERY least I’d expect from any system claiming to have dongle-less connections is HDMI. If I have to get a connector for HDMI, then we’re back to the same kind of dock I’d get for an iPad Pro.

so you don't want a business to advertise their product? competitive advertising is a normal thing here in the US ...
that just doesn't make any sense, period.
if you have a great product, you can advertise it without trying to put it above the competitors product. i think it's distasteful. apple advertises their products without even mentioning the competitors. i think since the whole "i'm a mac/i'm a pc" series, the haven't mentioned any other brand. and also the way these comparisons are done, be it intel or msft — they are completely skewed.

Tell us more!
Already did before in this thread, but here's a recap of some problems I had with the Surface.

Battery, empty in just a couple of hours.
Zoom speed/accuracy is horrible when using Pinch to zoom, difficult to set a size (In a PDF document).
Face recognition works half of the time, sometimes does not recognize the built-in camera.
Windows is slow on the Surface.
Software problems, Syncing problems with Microsoft cloud (Every single day), not a hardware problem.
Metal pieces clinging onto magnets, for instance, the charging and keyboard ports.
Too small for multiple pages PDF's. (10s-100s of pages, got the right page-zoom in-zoom out to go to another page)
And so on....

Apple should just shamelessly copy the Surface form factor with kickstand and fold-around keyboard and put MacOS on it since it now runs iOS apps. iPadOS is just way too dumb and locked down as an OS for computing device. And, MBA M1 clamshell without touch screen and pen input is way too antiquated and a heavy brick.

Reminds me of the ads that Microsoft did maybe 5 years ago when they gave money to a shopper to buy a laptop at Best Buy. The buyer ended up with some crap Windows laptop, but in reality any person would have taken the money to subsidize the purchase of a Macbook Pro. No one I know wants the iPad Pro to replace a desktop Mac or MacBook Pro. I’d bet anyone given the choice would take an iPad Pro over a Surface, which is neither a great tablet nor computer.

Surface Pro 7 or Surface Pro X? According to Microsoft’s product pages, the 7 doesn’t have an LTE option.

There is a new model, released a few months ago, called the Surface Pro 7 Plus. It has, among other things, an LTE version (i5 fanless/16GB RAM/11th gen Intel), and the ability easily replace the SSD drive, up to 1TB.

Because, like Dell, Microsoft has to complicate simple things. I can see a seperate Education dividion, but splitting business vs consumer seem pointless.

Considering that 90 percent of the world runs Windows, I find it hard to believe that "in reality", people would pick a Mac. They will pick what they know in most cases.

Sometimes people here give Macs more stature than they actually have. Apple may dominate in the portables market - iPhone, iPads and Apple watches, but Macs actually have a very small market penetration.

What is Microsoft on, comparing a Tablet with a Laptop they are two different categories, granted the surface can be detached and become tablet like just like the iPad Pro can be attached and become laptop like they are two different areas that are used in different situations were no one of them is better than the other as in their own category do their job well
